Hail, Cross, the all-mighty power of rulers, through which they are victorious and boast to those who do not know you and do not submit to your power.Hail, Cross, the readiness of the armed forces and abundance of morale, which victoriously confronts the power of the enemies and confounds the swarms of the lawless.Hail, Cross, guide of wayfarers, you who direct and order their steps and, through your power, repel and scatter from the mind the dark attacks of the demons.Hail, Cross, the joy and repose of those who sail. With your help they cast off all fearfulness, and travel to foreign countries; crossing the great seas, they arrive at their destination with high hopes.

Hail, Cross, the nourishment and repose of those travellers who are at rest somewhere; because, in making your sign, their food becomes pleasant, their sleep light and refreshing, and their awakening is to their salvation. In this way they have the strength to continue their journey.Hail, Cross, the success of those who hope, having confidence in your Grace, and thus no do fail in their hopes. Because you prepare and smoothe the path, and with the power you have, you satisfy the requests of those who truly honour you.Hail, Cross, the tranquillity and protection of those who voyage on the seas, because the roaring and billowing waves, as high as mountains, are calmed at once by your sign.

BY-GOD- GIVEN CONFIRMATION"After the change of the calendar (10/3/1924) the non-schismatic Orthodox (ironicaly misnamed "Old Calendarists"), suffering persecution, assembled at night on Mount Hymettus, above Holargos. It being the eve of the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, they prepared to keep vigil most of the night to secretly celebrate the feast. Around 11:30 p.m there appeared in the sky a very white and brilliant cross, the light of which focused only on the monastery and the yard around it. This confirmed that God wanted the people to follow the old patristic calendar. This miracle was observed not only by the Orthodox congregation but by the very police officers who had been sent to disperse them. "(Newspaper Skrip, Sept. 15/28, 1925).

THE APOSTOLIC SUCCESSION

Divine Grace transmitted by the apostles to their successors, the Bishops and Priests, followed by the Sacrament of Ordination of the Hierarchs continuously transferred the divine Grace Apostolic office until today and until Doom centuries, called Apostolic Succession. On those grounds, the Apostolic Succession, the Church is always new and never to aging remains always the same, like Christ:

It is extremely essential that this feature of the Faith, because contiguous to the Apostolic Succession, but continuing this, because if the faith is falsified and Apostolic Succession is lost.

According to the Orthodox teaching, heretics distort the faith and lost the Apostolic Succession, so as they cut themselves of the Apostolic Church of Christ. (Irenaeus, Against Heresies 11113 and Sanctuaries. Letter 84). Unity of Apostolic Succession and Faith says St. Irenaeus, who ask for obedience to elders (provided means Bishops and Elders) emphasizes Those people "have succession from the Apostles... truly unite and preserve the teaching of the Apostles ... St. Cyprian in the Proceedings of the Synod of Carthage says: We succeeded the Apostles with the same power ruling the Church. (H.G.O. Ecclesiology Issues 1).

PASTORAL ENCYCLICAL TO THE ORTHODOX GREEK PEOPLE

Unjustly condemned by the schismatic synod to deposition and a five-year imprisonment in monasteries, and seized by force by the government (which has become the executory arm of the [New Calendar] Archdiocese, which by a mere word has placed itself above the divine canons, the [Churchs] Charter, and the Constitution of Greece) because we had the courage and the spiritual strength to raise the glorious and venerable banner of Orthodoxy, we consider it our pastoral duty before we depart [for prison] to direct the following admonitions to you that adhere to the Orthodox festal calendar of our fathers:While faithfully following the Apostles admonition, Stand fast and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or by our letter, do not cease from struggling by every lawful and Christian means for the strengthening and triumph of our sacred struggle, which looks to the restoration of the patristic and Orthodox festal calendar within the Church; only this can re-establish the diminished Orthodox authority of the Greek Church and bring back the peace and unity of the Orthodox Greek people.By the judgments which the Lord knows, the majority of the hierarchy of the Greek Church, under the influence and initiative of its president, has placed the blot of schism upon what up until now had been its pure and truly Orthodox countenance, when it rejected the Orthodox festal calendar -which has been consecrated by the Seven Ecumenical Councils and ratified by the age-long practice of the Orthodox Eastern Church- and replaced it with the Papal Calendar.Of course, this schism of the Orthodox Greek people was created by the majority of the hierarchy, which forgot its sacred and national mission and the old Greek [revolutionary] slogan: Fight for Orthodoxy and for Greek liberty, and which, without the agreement of all the Orthodox Churches, introduced the Papal festal calendar into our divine worship, thereby dividing not only the Ort hodox Churches, but also the Orthodox Christians into two opposing camps. In assuming the pastorship of the Orthodox Greek populace that follows the Orthodox festal calendar of our fathers, and being conscious of the oath of faith that we took that we would keep all that we have received from the Seven Ecumenical Councils, we abjure every innovation and cannot but proclaim as schismatic the State Church, which has accepted the Papal festal calendar which has been described by Pan-Orthodox Councils as an innovation of the heretics, as a global scandal and as an arbitrary trampling underfoot of the Divine and Sacred Canons of the ecclesiastical traditions. On account of this, we counsel all who follow the Orthodox festal calendar to have no spiritual communion with the Schismatic Church and its schismatic ministers, from whom the Grace of the All-holy Spirit has departed, since they have set at nought the resolutions of the Fathers of the Seven Ecumenical Councils and all the Pan-Orthodox Councils that condemned the Gregorian festal calendar. The fact that the Schismatic Church does not have grace and the Holy Spirit is confirmed by Saint Basil the Great, who says: Even though the schismatics have not erred in doctrines, yet because Christ is the Head of the Body of the Church according to the divine Apostle, and from Him are all the members quickened and receive spiritual increase, the [schismatics] have been torn from the consonance of the members of the Body and no longer have the grace of the Holy Spirit abiding with them. And how, indeed, can they impart to others that which they have not? While the Schismatic Church imposes oppressive and intolerable measures in order to violate our Orthodox conscience, we exhort you to endure all things and to preserve the Orthodox heritage intact and unstained, even as we received it from our pious Fathers, having us as luminous and fortifying examples, seeing we were not afraid even in the waning years of our lives to withstand with boldness and dignity the bigoted and medieval measures of our exile and imprisonment in monasteries, as it were in prisons.Esteeming this as honor and glory and joy, according to the Apostle, who enjoins us to rejoice and boast in our sufferings in behalf of Christ, we counsel you also to have endurance and persistence in these grief's, and afflictions, and evils, and outrages to which you will be subjected by a Church that is Schismatic; and ever hope in God, Who will not permit that you be tried above what you are able to endure, and Who, in His infinite and unfathomable long-suffering, will be well-pleased to enlighten those who, out of innocence, have been led astray and follow the Papal festal calendar; and in the end may He grant you the triumph of Orthodoxy and the unity of those who bear the name of Christ, the Orthodox Greek people, for whom we struggle to the glory of Christ, Whose grace and infinite mercy be with you all.June 21, 1935+Germanos of Demetrias+Chrysostom , formerly of Florina+Chrysostom of Zakynthos

The holy historic church of the Dormition of Theotokos in Athens where the three Metropolitans of the Church of Greece confessed the Genuine Orthodoxy and declared the State Church as Schismatic according to the Holy Canons of Saint Fathers on 13th May 1935. After their confession they consecrated four new Bishops for the Genuine Orthodox Church; German of Cyclades, Christopher of Megaris, Polycarpos of Diavlia and the elected by the orthodox crowd of the Church, Saint Matthew (Karpathakis), the Athonite as Bishop of Vresthena in the Monastery of Keratea.

THE MIRACULOUS APPERANCEOF THE HOLY CROSSIN THE SKY OF ATTICA IN 1925

The Association of the Orthodox, recognized Association, always according to the Old Church calendar in which remains steadfast, considering the introduction of the Gregorian calendar in the Church as antireligious and irregular, celebrated today September 14, during that calendar, the feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. Towards to the end of the ninth night yesterday, more than two thousand members of the Association gathered on a country church of St. John the Theologian, where vigil took place. It is understood that this concentration of believers not escaped the attention of the institutions of power, of which since 23:00 attended the night sequence for the sake of order, as they said. But if anyone was there mission, a few minutes after their arrival there, with their willing- unintentionally forced to add themselves to the multitude of believers, which already does not fit the outer enclosure of the church, due to reasons of higher order for any human or power. The time was the 11th and a half before midnight, when just above the church and with direction from East to West appeared bright white cross, whose luster accessed only for the church and church-crowd disappeared completely the glow of the stars, it illuminated the Cathedral and the precincts, it was directed thereto as electric searchlight. The horizontal line of the rainbow Cross therefore inclined to the right, towards the lower part is the vertical line formed by a lower cross by interference of an another lower horizontal line. The Uranium miracle was visible continuously for half an hour and then began to fade a little, a little. What it was followed the emergence of the heavenly miracle therefore is impossible to include human narrative. All the people in church kneeling and weeping of emotion, began chanting and praising the Lord with one mouth and one heart. The institutions of power gave up and found in the depths of their hearts the faith of their childhood. All the land changed into a corner some other world, overground. All the people held sacred by unexpressed pious emotion, all crying. The vigil ended on 4:00 in the morning, so that whole the human torrent began descending towards the city narrating in every step the nocturnal wonder, the thrill of which were united everyone. Maybe there will be unbelievers, who will contest the fact, maybe will be found wiseacre, who will seek to explain the phenomenon of suggestion or by any other forced reasons, however both of their arguments are overturned as flimsy, bearing in mind that it is not a momentary phenomenon visible for half an hour or more, which is constantly watched and admired by more than two thousand people. Fortunately, among those who saw and admired the bright heavenly, evasion Cross are included institutions of power and consequently the (state) Church and the official state have a duty to examine, verify and formalize the fact. Apart therefore, we think that the emergence of the heavenly Cross, accordingly on the day that is celebrated according to the old calendar feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, it is an additional by-God- given confirmation on the correctness of the order on the beliefs of the followers of this calendar, provides to those who direct the cases of the Church today helping hand from heaven to revise their incorrect decision on the import in the Church of unilaterally the Gregorian calendar by their cut from great body of the Orthodoxy. NARRATIONS OF WITNESSES

"I was one of the men of the Police Academy, which were sent that night, years ago, in the outside church of St. John the Theologian to prevent the vigil. There the old- calendarists will do a vigil because the feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross was dawn. Because a lot of people had gathered, more than two thousand people, we did not attempt to arrest the priest, as we had ordered, but I we lay quietly in the nearby hillside and waited to finish. On 11 and a half hour we hear a big and strange noise coming from the voices of the crowd. Without wasting time we ran to see what happens ... and we saw ... All the believers was at a religious frenzy. Other weeping and others chanting "Lord have mercy to us", kneeling had turned their gaze to the sky, and some fainted due to the big thrill. Then we looked and saw the wonderful, a huge all-in-light Cross, very high above the temple to illuminate the entire area. At first we feared caught but immediately we recovered and knelt forgetting our mission and crying like little children. Needless to say, I watched the sacred vigil to end, full of emotion, not anymore as pursuing officers, but as faithful Christians. In the morning, when we go to the school, I told everyone the great miracle that was fortunate to see. Following investigations, all of us were under oath and we have said that we saw clear the Holy Cross in the sky above".John D. Glyme, Retired Police Officer, 73 Street Aristotle 72, Peristeri- Athens"That night in 1925 that revealed the Holy Cross, I did last tram route as a guide. I reached the (square of) Omonia and I cycled (the square), when I saw people looking at the sky and shout "Look ... The Cross ...The Cross". Immediately I pressed brake and stopped the vehicle. I pulled my head out of the door of the vehicle and saw I, the unworthy, the Holy Cross of the Lord- may his Name be glorified by us - glow over the (mountain) Hymettus. I do not remember how it lasted. One only I know that the Holy Cross that I saw that night made me another man. Since everyone in the family became faithful children of the Church of the Genuine Orthodox Christians. Athanasios Primalis, Retired Run-wail driver- Karvalis 17 Nicea- Piraeus"I lived in Tampouria (area) of Piraeus with my father who was blind when we warned that the feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross would be a vigil to Saint John the Theologian on Mount Hymettus. So we started 50 people from the area of Agios Dimitrios in Piraeus and arrived in the chapel before the vigil. There was gathered too many people. At midnight while I was with my father appeared in the sky outside the Holy Cross which shone like a searchlight. We knelt together with others. My father without being able to see the heavenly gift does not cease for a moment to shout aloud, "Lord have mercy to us." Nun Euphrosyne Kalmpeni, Hermitage of the Birth of Theotokos, Bala- Attica.THE HOLY CROSS IN THE OLD TASTEMENTDuring the visit of the three men (i.e. the Holy Trinity) to Abraham, the Men left their sticks to the Patriarch Abraham. These three sticks Abraham delivered to his nephew Lot, with the command after the plant, irrigate them together until they come to fruition as a tree consisting of three to one. Lot did this for years because he wanted to atone to God for a heavy sin. Indeed, after years of laborious editing the "tree", it sprouted! During the Holy Fathers, these sticks came from the tree of Paradise. The wood of this tree was tried to be used by the Jews in the construction of the Temple, but they found it either too large or small for the purpose in each case they liked. For this reason, they considered it as cursed. And this "damn" wood was destined to be a blessing and salvation of the faithful Christians, on which He shed His Holy Blood of our Saviour Christ. And in other parts of the Bible, we read prefigurations of the Holy Cross: The elevated rod of Moses, the cross blessing of the Patriarch Jacob, various points of the life of the holy Prophets. Similarly, many verses of psalms and proverbs preparing the faithful for Holy Wood would become a means of redemption from sin for the human race: "Rod Power will be sent by the Lord God" (Psalm 109). IN THE HISTORY OF THE CHURCHFIRST APPEARANCE: (October12, 312): View of Constantine, in broad daylight, with the inscription "By This, you win", before starting a critical battle, which he won with the power of the Cross of the Lord. SECOND APPEARANCE: (May 7, 346): View in Jerusalem in time of Patriarch Cyril. All the people saw the Cross of divine light spreading from Golgotha to the Mount of Olives. THE EXALTATION OF THE HOLY AND LIFE-GIVING CROSS: The entire nation of Christians wan to worship and embrace the Holy Cross that was found by St. Queen Helen, at the behest of her son St. Constantine the Great. It was not possible to manage the desiderata due to the large crowd.
