Satan whisper to Adam and Eve

• Satan said to Adam and Eve, “...Your Lord did not forbid you this tree save that you should become Angels or become of the immortals.” (Quran 7:20) Their minds became filled with thoughts of the tree, and one day they decided to eat from it. Adam and Eve behaved as all human beings do; they became preoccupied with their own thoughts and the whisperings of Satan and they forgot the warning from God.

Eve not the one to be blamed alone

• Islam in no way indicates that Eve was the weaker of the two, or that she tempted Adam to disobey God. Eating the fruit of the tree was a mistake committed by both Adam and Eve. They bear equal responsibility. It was not the original sin spoken about in Christian traditions. The descendents of Adam are not being punished for the sins of their original parents. It was a mistake, and God, in His infinite Wisdom and Mercy, forgave them both.

• The concept of original sin simply does not exist in Islam, and never has. For the Christian readers, the question is not whether the concept of original sin exists in present day, but whether it existed during the period of Christian origins. Specifically, did Jesus teach it? Apparently not. Whoever dreamt up the concept, it certainly wasn’t Jesus, for he reportedly taught , “ Let the little children come to me, and do not forbid them, for of such is the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 19:14)

• “The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers, every man shall be put to death for his own sin.” Deuteronomy 24:16) (Jeremiah 31:30): “But every one shall die for his own iniquity...”(Ezekiel 18:20): “The soul that sinned, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father; neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son; the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.” After reading the above verses, would you not agree that The Bible itself teaches that each of us is responsible for our own action

• Let us ponder what the Quran has to say :“And no bearer of burdens shall bear another’s burden”. (Quran 35:18)

• Sahih International Quran 35:18And no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another. And if a heavily laden soul calls [another] to [carry some of] its load, nothing of it will be carried, even if he should be a close relative. You can only warn those who fear their Lord unseen and have established prayer. And whoever purifies himself only purifies himself for [the benefit of] his soul. And to Allah is the [final] destination.

• Sahih International translation of Quran Surat 2 Ayat 48 :And fear a Day when no soul will suffice for another soul at all, nor will intercession be accepted from it, nor will compensation be taken from it, nor will they be aided. Quran 2 Al-Baqarara : 48 So it would seem that The Bible and Quran are in agreement on this topic. And as we go along further on this journey of truth-seeking, we'll see that this happens more often than not.

• To seek forgiveness, one must sincerely repent directly to The One from whom Forgiveness emanates, Allah. Adam and Eve were responsible for their own sin. They both repented and they were both forgiven by Allah. There is no need for anyone to die for anyone . You can never establish justice by injustice ( Killing an innocent man for the sins of others is the ultimate injustice )

The Oft-Forgiving, the Most Merciful

• As for the sin of Adam, the Quran tells us that he repented for his sin. God revealed to him words with which to repent, which he then accepted from him . “ Then Adam received Words (of forgiveness) from his Lord, and he accepted his repentance. Verily, He is the One Who repeatedly accepts repentance, the Most Merciful.” (Quran 2:

• And behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? And he said unto him, why callest thou me good? There is none good but one that is God: but if thou will enter into life, keep the commandments. (Matthew 19: 16-17)So, Jesus showed to the Jewish person who was asking him (Matthew 19: 16-17) that the keeping of the commandments is the only way to God and a key to salvation. God affirms what Jesus, and all His apostles say about that matter. Allah says in the Quran : "whoever works righteousness, man or woman, and has Faith, verily, to him will We give a new life a life that is good and pure, and We will bestow on such their reward according to the best of their action (16: 97). So, one will be saved according to his deeds, and not according to something else.
