CONNECT MENTOR PROGRAMThe OWL Connect Mentor Program is a peer support program designed to assist you with your early transition to La Trobe University. Prior to Orientation Week you will be assigned to an OWL Mentor Group of between 10 to 20 students and allocated a Connect Mentor who studies the same course or is in the same faculty as you. OWL Connect Mentors are students in second year or above who have been carefully selected and trained to provide you with support in your transition to university.

You will meet your OWL Connect Mentor on the second day of Orientation (Tuesday 26 February) at 9.30 am in the Student Union Floor (Map ref: L/SU, F8).

Your Mentor will take you on a tour of the campus with other students with whom you will be studying. Throughout the first six weeks of the semester your Mentor will maintain regular contact with you and meet you for a coffee so you can ask questions or have a chat with other members of the group about how you are settling in.

OWL Connect Mentors are not academic advisors, but can offer firsthand knowledge of the student experience at La Trobe. They can point you in the right direction to the appropriate services, resources and other avenues of support.

If you can’t find your mentor or are not sure who it is on the day, don’t stress just go to the meeting area for your faculty and join any one of our friendly OWL Connect Mentors.

For more information on the OWL Connect Mentor Program, visit:latrobe.edu.au/students/new-students/connect
