1. INTRODUCTION TO ERASMUS+
• Erasmus is the easiest way to go on exchange. Most students
get selected! Funding from EU.
• You can go on exchange on both Bachelor Level and Master
Level, max 12 months/level (including Erasmus placements)
• You get a grant for each exchange
• Grant is calculated according the living costs of your
deastination and the exact dates of exchange: FIND OUT THE
SEMESTER DATES IN YOUR HOST UNIVERSITY

1.INTRODUCTION TO ERASMUS+
EXTRA GRANTS
• Extra grant for parents of underaged children 200 e/month.
Certified in the SoleGRANT application by a certificate issued
by officials (virkatodistus/extract from census or parish
register). The sum is 200 euros per month, regardless of the
number of underaged children.
• Additional funding can also be awarded when the person going
has a disability, illness etc. that will result in considerable
extra costs during the exchange, and the extra costs cannot be
covered by any other funding sources.

• Participation in Erasmus+ is – it also means OBLIGATIONS!

Before Grant application (when you receive acceptance letter)
After Letter of Confirmation (with dates of study period)

B & A NEW: Online Language Test before and after exchange
You will receive a license with email to do the test

parties before exchange
• Study load:
Recommendation: 30 ECTS/Semester
KELA demands 5.0 ECTS/month
• Host institution may have restrictions and

CULTURAL ADAPTATION • Be open. Get to know people! • Reflect your new experiences, yourself and your
background (eg. educational, cultural, religious variation, values)
• Give yourself time to adapt • You may also experience a cultural shock, with its
different phases: 1. tourist/honeymoon phase 2. crisis 3. adaptation 4. reorientation, coming home may be a schock
Make it a learning experience! It can give you a new perspective to your own culture. LAST: Do not forget to contact your family when you get there!

HOST UNIVERSITY ”PAPERWORK” • No tuition fees • Other possible expenses (books, student union fees,
etc) CHANGES TO LA, EXTENSION OF STAY • Check the possible requirements of study load and
what courses are available • Make the changes in LEARNING AGREEMENT and send
it to your coordinator at home • If you wish to extend your stay, let the host and your
coordinator know • Make a new SoleGRANT
