2. LIBRARY USER POLICY CVCC student ID cards are used aslibrary cards and print/copy cards. Materials for general circulation canbe checked out for 4 weeks and 2renewals are allowed. Expires 8/201? Overdue fines are 20 cents per dayper book with maximum of 25 dollarsper book. Students with any chargesassociated with their accounts willbe place on library hold. Students with library hold wont beable to register for new semester,receive transcript, or graduate. You may access the full version ofthe LRC Policy and ProcedureManual through our blog. 3. COLUMBUS TECHNICALCOLLEGE(CTC) Currently enrolled CVCC studentsmay use the CTC library facilitiesand resources. Students need to present the librarystaff at CTC: a current CTC/CVCC Library Card a valid photo ID CTC/CVCC Library Card can beobtained at the Information Centerin the library. 5 items can be checked out at anytime at the CTC library. Students are responsible for thereturn of all library materials andpaying fines associated with theaccounts. 4. WHERE TO FIND US? VIRTUAL REFERENCE The library provides virtual referenceservice using Windows Live Messenger The service is available through thelibrary blogs and the library websiteduring library operational hours. To use the service: click on Begin a conversation At the next screen, you may type yourname in the text box or login as aVisitor. Type the captcha (the characters fromthe image on the screen) into the textbox and click on Submit. Enter your question and click on Send 8. TRY THIS SERVICE!INTERLIBRARY LOAN Interlibrary loan (ILL) is to borrowmaterials from other libraries. ILL request forms can beobtained from the LRCsInformation Center ordownloaded from the ILL blog.Online ILL request is alsoavailable at the ILL blog. The ILL service is free forstudents. Delivery time for requested itemsvaries, depending upon theiravailability and location of thelending library. 9. TRY THIS SERVICE! TEXTBOOKS ON RESERVE Library has textbooks onreserve for most CVCCcourses. Textbooks are for in-libraryuse only. Valid picture ID is requiredto use reserved textbooks. 10. PRINTED BOOKS The library online catalog isaccessible at the libraryswebsite and blog. Materials that can besearched using the libraryonline catalog: Books Periodicals (excludes newspapers) Audio-visual materials E-books (only part of the LRC e-book collection is available throughthe library online catalog) 12. USE THIS RESOURCE!E-BOOKS E-books are the digital versionof books which you canaccess 24/7. The library e-book collectioncan be accessed from thelibrarys website and the blog. No user ID or passwordrequired when accessing thee-book collection on campus. Please contact the library stafffor a user ID and a passwordfor remote access. 13. USE THIS RESOURCE!ONLINE DATABASES Alabama Virtual Library (AVL) isprimarily a group of onlinedatabases that have magazine,journal, and newspaper articleson various subjects. The AVL can be accessed athttp://www.avl.lib.al.us orthrough the LRC Resources blog. No user ID or password requiredto access the AVL in Alabama. Out of state access is availableby obtaining a user ID andpassword from the library. 14.
