The Balkan Regional Young Water Professionals Conference is intended to be an international forum for students, young researchers and professionals working in the water sector to present their work and meet their peers from the region and all over the world. Therefore, the Conference will be of interest to students and young professionals working in all branches of the water sector. The Scientific Committee welcomes proposals for platform or poster presentation, which fit within one of the topics shown below: Water supply, Water protection, Groundwater management, Performance assessment in wastewater utilities and social, economic, financial and other dimensions of wastewater asset management, Climate changes and their impact on water cycle, Risk management Conference Topics Procedure for Submission Registration Fee Authors may submit Abstracts up to 1 page written in English on following e-mail address: [email protected]. It is most frequently compared to the Paris quarter of Montmartre, both because of its appearance and its happy, ebullient, creative atmosphere. This part of the city was formed in the first half of the 19th century, and in 1872 Skadarska street was first given its name, at the same time as the houses were given numbers. Many famous writer, actors, painters and journalists once lived in Skadarlija. Skadarlija took on its Bohemian appearance from 1901 onwards, when following the demolition of the famous Dardaneli inn, the regulars relocated to the inns in Skadarlija. Many local and foreign personalities “spent their best days here - by night.” The famous Serbian poet and painter Đura Jakšić lived and died in Skadarlija. His house was converted into a meeting point for poets from the “Skadarlija Soirées” (“Skadarlijske večeri”). Today you will find in Skadarlija, which is now a leading Belgrade tourist attraction, the famous restaurants of Tri Šešira, Ima dana, Dva jelena, Skadarlija, Zlatni bokal and Dva bela goluba, as well as galleries, antique shops and souvenir stalls. This unique corner of Belgrade, whose redevelopment was begun in 1968, was planned and designed by the well-known Belgrade architect Uglješa Bogunović. The Institute “JAROSLAV CERNI” is an institute for research, development, design and consulting services in the fields of hydraulic engineering and integral water resources management, including services ranging from basic and applied studies and investigations, through water master planning, feasibility studies and designs, to complex multidisciplinary projects. During over 60 years of its activity, the Institute has grown into the largest and leading organization in water domain in Serbia. It is located in Belgrade, the capital of the Republic of Serbia.

The fulfillment of the present and future needs of the water and wastewater industries requires continuous development of a workforce, which are both adequate in size, capable in skills and strong in leadership. Young water professionals (students and professionals in the water sector and under the age of 35) are the future of the water sector, and therefore the future of the International Water Association (IWA). • Connecting People in order to provide opportunities for YWPs to meet and communicate. InvitationThe efficient development of water sector is impossible without young water professionals.

The aim of the conference is to create a wide and efficient international network of young water professionals, particulary from the Balkan region, because the efficient development of water sector is impossible without young water professionals. Young water professionals (students and professionals in the water sector and under the age of 35) are the future of the water sector. Present and future needs of the water sector require the continuous development of a workforce, capable in skills and strong in leadership. All aspects of water manegement are included in conference topics: water use, water protection and protection against harmful water effects. This conference is organized by the Institute for the Development of Water Resources “Jaroslav Cerni” and Belgrade Water Supply and Santitation Public Company, under the umbrella of the IWA Young Water Professionals.
