ORGAN TRANSCRIPTIONS-ARRANGERS In the nineteenth century churches served as concert halls. Recital programs often included a large percentage of transcriptions and music for organ vocal [or instrumental] soloists that complemented the "purely' organ pieces. For theater organs, an ocean of arrangements consisting of popular tunes and patriotic songs was created.
