Our Purpose…
To review proposals for Incentive Programs and to
provide the Research Office a ranked order of
funding recommendations.

Incentive ProgramsIncentive ProgramsIncentive ProgramsIncentive ProgramsGeneral Research Fund (GRF)Funds are awarded to faculty for research that is not otherwise supported by organized or directed programs. Maximum award amount $8,000.
Research Equipment Reserves Fund (RERF)Proposals request funds that may be used to acquire, repair, renovate, or improve capital equipment ($5,000 with useful life of 1 year) directly used for research.
Major Research Initiative (MRI)Designed to assist with the development of a research project with an annual budget of at least one million dollars and an operating timeline of 3-5 years. Preference will be given to submissions that involve multi-college, multi-institutional collaborations . Award is given in the amount of $25, 000.
Kelley Family FundThe Kelley family, through donations to the OSU Foundation, have generously offered Oregon State University $500,000 to be dispersed in $100,000 increments over a five year period. Kelley Family Fund equipment grant funds are intended to support the acquisition or improvement of equipment directly used for materials science research.

Evaluation Criteria A-F grading system (A, A-, B+, B, etc. Submit only 1 grade) Evaluate relative to other submissions Grade using individual criterion Provide OVERALL rating Recommend funding
