A Devoted Husband, A Loving Father, A Kind Grandfather, A Beloved Brother, A Faithful Friend
“And God shall wipe all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying,neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away” REV 21:4
On Thursday, March 27, 2008, during the early morning hours, God in His infinite wisdom saw fit to call ourbeloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend from life to eternal life, Mr. Alvin SylvesterWilliams, Sr., lovingly referred to by all who loved him as “Bubee”.
“Bubee” resided at 531 Petty Street (Berkley Manor), Petersburg, VA. He was born on February 8, 1947, to thelate John Hugo Williams and Vernelle Jackson Williams in Petersburg, Va. He was also predeceased by his broth-er, Charles A. Williams. Bubee was educated in the Petersburg Public Schools System. At an early age he con-fessed Christ as his personal Savior. At the tender age of 16, he was employed with Petersburg General Hospital,(now known as Southside Regional Medical Center). There he received his formal training in the culinary arts andbecame an award winning head chef. After fulfilling 16 years of dedicated service to Southside Regional, he wasthen gainfully employed with PARK 500 (a division of Phillip Morris USA). After 25 years and 8 months of faith-ful service, he retired to spend quality time with his loving family.
In 1965, Bubee was united in Holy Matrimony to the former Celestine Jackson. This union was blessed with fourloving children, Angela Ramona, Alvin Sylvester Jr., Bridgette Yvette, and Charles Elton.
On April 14, 1990, he was united in Holy Matrimony to the former Vanessa Jones. God blessed this loving unionwith two children, Kevin Jacoba and Alicia Nicole.
Bubee was a loving, caring, devoted, and special blessing to his entire family and to his community. His kind,jovial, and sincere demeanor will be a cherished legacy for all who knew him. His children were “the apple of hiseye”, as he showered them with sincere love, profound wisdom, and a determination to always strive to do yourvery best in life. His home was a “haven of love” to everyone who entered the doors. As a loyal fisherman, hefound joy in securing his boat on the beautiful waters to catch an abundance of fish and later share them with hisfamily and friends. We Thank God for blessing us with his presence in our lives and we trust that though he isnow absent from his physical body, his soul is truly present with the Lord !
Bubee’s cherished memory will forever be perpetuated by his loving and devoted wife, Vanessa J. Williams, 3 lov-ing daughters, Angela W. Ward (Christopher), Bridgette W. Parham (Derek), and Alicia N. Williams; 3 caring sons,Alvin S. Williams Jr., Charles E. Williams (Kenya) and Kevin J. Williams; 7 grandchildren, Michael D. Brennan,Porchelle N. Williams, Christopher D. Williams, Travis L. “A MESSAGE FROM BUBEE”
I am safe at home in Heaven, dear loved onesOh so happy and so bright
There is perfect joy and peaceIn God’s everlasting light
All the trouble of life are now overEvery burden and pain is passed
I am now at peace foreverSafely Home in Heaven at last !
Did you wonder why I so calmlyTrod the valley of the shade ?
Oh, but with the arm of Jesus to lean onCould I have one doubt or dread
You must not grieve so sorely,For I love you dearly still;
Try to look beyond earth’s shadows,Pray and trust our Father’s Will
There is work still waiting for you,So you must not idly stand;
Do it now ! … while life remainsYou shall rest in Jesus’ Land
When that work is all completed,He will gently call you home;
Oh, the rapture of that meeting,Oh the JOY to see you come !
Love Ya !The late Mr. Alvin Sylvester Williams Sr.
