INTRODUCTION

Catch your spectators’ attention.

(Say something that make the audience thing)

Set your intentions.(I’m going to talk about…)

Show an outline of your speech.

(I will concentrate on the following topics: First…Then… and Finally)

THE BODY

Show your topics one by one. (in logical order.)

Use examples to explain your topic.(For instance…)

Pause at the end of each topic.

(Give people time to take notes and for yourself think.)

Show when you move to another topic.(e.g. Right. Now I’d like to talk about… or But, it’s important to note

that…)

Utilize visual supports to catch the listener’s

attention.

TIPS

Speak loud.(Speak loudly enough for everybody in the room listen you.)

Don’t read. (This isn’t an essay, so you have to explain.)

Speak slowly and clear.(Don’t rush because people won’t understand you.)

Utilize you body to communicate.(Stand straight and don’t turn your back to the audience.)

Interact with the audience.(Check if it’s all right: e.g. Is that clear? and Does that make sense?)

Summarize your topics again.(e.g. In conclusion… or To sum up…)

Reassert the aim of your speech, and make

clear that you reach your goal.(Now you can realize…)
