Node Preparation:

Mount - Make sure to have enough space on the file system where you are planned to proceed with task

vi /etc/hosts - Basically, there are 2 places where we need to change the host name here is first and below is second

/etc/sysconfig/network - second place

Docker Installation:

we often use "YUM" in this document, below is a brief description about "YUM" . For more information please refer ORACLE site

"yum server offers a free and convenient way to install the latest Oracle Linux packages as well as

packages from the Oracle VM installation media via a yum client".

By default session highlighted with yellow colour ("addons") will be available with option "enable=0" (circled in red colour). So, please make 0=1 and save it (zero=one). which means we are enabling the "addons"

Now, we successfully completed "DOCKER" installation

Let's start Docker:

Let's confirm if Docker is running successfully

When working with Docker you need to execute commands with "sudo" access. Typing "sudo" each time could be a quite exhausting so you can get around this by adding your user to the "docker" group:

Networking with Docker:

When Docker starts, it creates a virtual interface named docker0 on the host machine. It randomly chooses an address and subnet from the private range defined by RFC 1918 that are not in use on the host machine, and assigns it to docker0.

The MAC address is generated using the IP address allocated to the container to avoid ARP collisions, using a range from 02:42:ac:11:00:00 to 02:42:ac:11:ff:ff.

But docker0 is no ordinary interface. It is a virtual Ethernet bridge that automatically forwards packets between any other network interfaces that are attached to it. This lets containers communicate both with the host machine and with each other.

What is GIT HUB?

GitHub is a Web-based Git repository hosting service. It offers all of the distributed revision control and source code management (SCM) functionality of Git as well as adding its own features. Unlike Git, which is strictly a command-line tool, GitHub provides a Web-based graphical interface and desktop as well as mobile integration. It also provides access control and several collaboration features such as bug tracking, feature requests, task management, and wikis for every project.

GIT Installation:

Note: as I have already installed 'GIT', you can see "nothing to do" message.

Now, let 's get ORACLE Docker repository :

After repository installation, we should be able to see a new directory named "DOCKER"

Now, we need to get JDK, FMW software to below mentioned location in screen print

Copied required software to designated location:

Below two syntax displays us if we have any images installed with container information, as we didn't started building sample image so you are not seeing any output from below 2 commands

Let's build sample docker image:

Now, let us see docker images which we just built !!

Let us create a sample domain:

Check the docker images : we should see sample wls as shown in below screen print

Running Web Logic Admin Server on Docker:

Note: ID which is generated will be unique for every installation

Please check the docker ps to see container list:

START NODEMANAGER and CREATE A MACHINE AUTOMATICALLY:

Now check the list of containers using docker ps:

START NODEMANAGER, CREATE A MACHINE AND CREATE A MANAGED SERVER AUTOMATICALLY:

Let's check number of containers:

Go ahead & check your URLs for more information
