Supported Paths to this Release

Release 11.1.1.4 is a maintenance release for Release 11.1.1.0, 11.1.1.1, 11.1.1.2, or 11.1.1.3. If you

are starting from an earlier release, you must first upgrade to an 11.1.1.x release. This may require

upgrading to an interim release first, and then upgrading to 11.1.1.x. Once at 11.1.1.x, in EPM System

Installer, select the “Apply Maintenance Release” option.

Release 11.1.1.4 also provides a complete installation if you are not already starting from Release

11.1.1.x.

If you are starting from EPM System Release 9.3.3, your recommended upgrade path is to Release

11.1.2.1+.

Security Synchronization between Essbase and Shared Services was removed in Essbase Release 9.3,

starting with release 9.3.1.4.1. Essbase and Shared Services Release 11.1.1.3, however, still

synchronize security information. For this reason, if you are using Essbase Release 9.3.1.4.1, 9.3.1.5,

9.3.1.6, or 9.3.1.7, you cannot upgrade to Release 11.1.1.3. Instead, your recommended upgrade

path is to first upgrade all products to Release 9.3.3, and then upgrade all products to Release

11.1.2.1+.

Known Issues

The following issues are the noteworthy known issues of this release.

Ad Hoc Grids

• 12577982 – Member indentation is not applied in a data form’s ad hoc grid when you select “Zoom

in” with the bottom level selected.

Administration

7360357 - When you try to generate an Access Control Report on a dimension having a large

number of members (for example, 30,000), you may get an error.

7387429 - When you use Planning with HP-UX Itanium, the utility generates

errors and does not complete.

10082429 – The links that were created using the Planning Tools menu do not work from EPM

Workspace.

9748340 – The following buttons do not display in the EPM Workspace navigation bar: “Open in

HTML”, “Open in PDF”, and “Refresh”.

9020384 – The following erroneous message, which can be ignored, is displayed the first time

users modify user variables: “

”.

9886932 - Clearing cell details clears data for non-selected members.

10015905 – You cannot create security filters if a user’s name is 30 or more characters long. This

limitation for user names is documented in the Hyperion Planning Administrator’s Guide.

12360722 – You cannot reorder dimensions on the Performance Settings tab.

7225626 - If you add a driver member using “Administration”, and then “Data Load

Administration”, you cannot subsequently delete that member. Workaround: Delete the driver

member from the list of selected members in the Data Load Administration window.

For the Planning 11.1.1.2 Release, several utilities use text files that must be saved with a specific

encoding format called UTF-8 (8-bit UCS/Unicode Transformation Format). Other utilities do not

use text files, or do not require a specific encoding. In most cases, the encoding information is not

required. However, it may be useful when creating new text files for Planning utilities.

For example, the utility requires that text files used with it are saved with UTF-8

encoding. If you update the text file for this utility in Notepad 5.1, the Save As dialog box saves

the file in the correct encoding format by default. However, if you change the Encoding option in

the dialog box, or create a new text file with a different encoding format such as ANSI or Unicode,

Page 5: Oracle Hyperion Planning, Fusion Edition, Release 11.1.1.4.00 … · 2011-08-29 · encoding format called UTF-8 (8-bit UCS/Unicode Transformation Format). Other utilities do not

5

the utility will not work correctly. When saving the file in the Notepad Save As dialog box, you must

select the UTF-8 option from the Encoding field.

These utilities require that their text files be saved with UTF-8 encoding:

For reference, the following table lists the Planning utility files, and notes if a utility uses text files

that must be saved with UTF-8 encoding. The next table lists additional text files used by

applications.

8197403 - If you create or refresh security filters for a large number of users within Planning, an

error may display, and you may be directed to the Logon page. Workaround: Use the Provision

Users utility to synchronize changes in users and groups.

• 8319836 - The email server name can be updated only by the application owner. However, no

error message displays if a non-application owner tries to update the email server name.

7

• 7028265 - A report (select “Administration”, and then “Reporting”) on a data form that has

asymmetric rows or columns does not clearly display how the asymmetric rows or columns are set

up.

• 6588088, 8-631251708 - In the Period dimension, the “Add Sibling” button is disabled when

YearTotal is selected. Workaround: Select the Period root member, and then click “Add Child”.

• 6585804, 6585274, 8-624672501, 8-624007794 - The Sort Member utility,

generates an error. This error may be ignored.

• 6539706, 1-217009923 - After restarting the application server, it can take over five minutes to

open large data forms with many sparse members on rows. Data forms open quickly the second

time they are opened.

• 6586303, 8-632556423 - To ensure that the Smart View Take Offline Wizard works with Windows Vista Business Edition, you must copy the file to the directory and register

the file in the system registry.

For more information, see: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/vbrun/ms788708.aspx, “Tested and

Not Shipping In Windows Vista.”

• 6538713, 1-182253551 - If your application contains accounts with Time Balance set to “Weighted

Average - Actual_Actual” or “Weighted Average – Actual_365”, in Planning, assign the UDA to Year members that are leap years (for example, FY08) and assign the

UDA to summary time periods (for example, YearTotal, Q1 and so on) before you refresh

the database. Alternately, you can copy member formulas from the Administration Services console

outline, and then save them in Planning.

6542159, 1-237456354 – In Planning, if you use the Oracle Essbase dynamic time series Y-T-D

(year-to-date) or P-T-D (period-to-date), you must update the corresponding Planning dimension

names. This is because two default Planning dimensions, Year and Period, have the same name as

members used in the dynamic time series.

Workaround: Modify the names of the Year and Period dimension. For Classic applications, rename

them in Planning. For Performance Management Architect applications, rename these dimensions

before loading them from a flat file. You can also use a different dynamic time series member than

Y-T-D or P-T-D, such as S-T-D (season to date).

• 7189887 - The “Marked for Delete” option is no longer available.

• 6534458, 1-126165171 - Copy Data does not support attribute members.

Aliases

11826713 – When attributes are associated with members and “Alias” is selected on the Layout

tab, if an attribute has no alias defined, the attribute value does not display in the data form.

10259779 - When clearing values from an alias table, no error is given. However upon validation,

the selected alias table still has data. Workaround: Restart the Planning service after clearing the

values from Planning Web client.

Business Rules

7597005 - No member selection is available in runtime prompts while launching business rules in

Planning if limits are set on shared members in runtime prompt variables of type Member or

Members. Member selection works correctly if the limits are set on the base members.

Page 8: Oracle Hyperion Planning, Fusion Edition, Release 11.1.1.4.00 … · 2011-08-29 · encoding format called UTF-8 (8-bit UCS/Unicode Transformation Format). Other utilities do not

8

7394271 - When an application uses business rules containing runtime prompts with dates, you

must ensure that the date format is correctly set. To set the date format, Select “Administration”,

then “Application Settings”, and then “Current Application Defaults”. Next, select “Display Options”,

and then “Date Format”. Select the appropriate date format from the drop-down list, and then click

“Save”.

7339918 - Using Hyperion Business Rules, if you create a Global Variable as a runtime prompt with

a filter for Children or any Descendants level, when the business rule is launched in Planning, the

members do not display in the same order as their original hierarchy.

7484809 - If you launch a business rule from a right-click menu, it runs correctly. However, if the

business rule runs for several minutes, the message, “Page cannot be displayed” may display

intermittently.

8219858 - A data form with a business rule set to run on save may generate an “out of memory”

error if you edit and save the data form multiple times.

• 6569964, 8-54176485 - If you run a business rule having a runtime prompt that is based on a relationship function (for example, ) that results in a large number of

members, the business rule can fail if the generated calculation script exceeds the Essbase limit of

64K.

• 6540923, 1-219225915 - If you have a sequence with one or more business rules that contain

hidden runtime prompts, you may not be able to launch the sequence. To work around this, do not

hide the runtime prompts within the rules themselves; instead, hide the rule’s runtime prompts in the “Launch Variables” tab of the sequence.

Calculation Manager

Design Issues with Calculation Manager

9580952 – When business rules are deployed from Calculation Manager to Planning, the

file is created and saved outside location on the server

where Planning is running.

9081974, 8628003 – Calculation Manager business rule validation against Planning may fail if you

have an @ATTRIBUTE function or @UDA defined in the business rule. However, the business rule

can be deployed to Planning and it launches successfully in Planning.

Launch Issues with Calculation Manager

11067810 - Setting a variable limit for a runtime prompt for the Account dimension (for example,

@Relative("Account",0)) displays all Account members, and validation fails, regardless of which

member is selected. This also causes the following error message in the Planning log when you try

to validate the runtime prompt: “The member "HSP_Historical" does not exist or you do not have

access to it.”

9526630 – Runtime prompts do not display the correct list of members for non-administrators.

11074887 – If a member name in a runtime prompt begins with a number, sometimes an error

displays in the log file even though the business rule executes successfully.

7429649 - If any business rule assigned to a data form contains a runtime prompt, the “Launch”

and “Close” buttons may not be available when you launch a business rule from that data form.

• 7485255 - To create a runtime prompt values file, select “Tools”, and then “Business Rules”. Using

the “Create Runtime Prompt Values File” option on the “Runtime Prompts” page to create a runtime

prompt values file can cause errors.

Page 9: Oracle Hyperion Planning, Fusion Edition, Release 11.1.1.4.00 … · 2011-08-29 · encoding format called UTF-8 (8-bit UCS/Unicode Transformation Format). Other utilities do not

9

• 7460923 - If a business rule uses a user variable as a runtime prompt value, the utility cannot successfully launch the business rule. However, if the

business rule runs for several minutes, the message, “Page cannot be displayed” may display

intermittently.

• 6740767 - Administrators can use folders to assign and manage access permissions for Calculation

Manager business rules on the Business Rules Security page in the Planning Web. These folders are

not available to users having the planner role.

• 7483578, 7305657 - Oracle recommends that you redeploy all business rules if you add variables

at different levels that have the same name.

Data Forms

7328979 - If you have a data form open when you close an application or log off EPM Workspace,

you might encounter a JavaScript message the next time you open that application.

9886144 - Data forms and folders do not consistently display in the left pane after you log on to

Planning using EPM Workspace.

9761059 – When “Suppress missing blocks” is selected as a data form property, the + and -

symbols (to expand and collapse the parent member) are not visible.

9580911 - Data form columns display incorrectly if users do not have access to all of the members

selected for rows.

8862285 - Using “Find” from the browser “Edit” menu to locate a data form member displays the

specified member. However, the member value displayed may be incorrect because of grid display

problems.

9054504 - When you edit values in a data form cell, press Enter or Tab, or click another data form

cell to keep the new value (note that this action does not save the new value to the database).

Pressing any other key may delete the new value from the data form display and replace it with the

old value.

9094156 - If Dynamic Time Series (DTS) members are used in the Page or POV axis, when the

data form is refreshed, selections on the Page or POV axis before the refresh do not persist.

8911320 - In data form rows or columns, if you use the ISiblings () function to select a dimension

that is selected as a user variable, the selected member is not displayed in the data form. This can

occur, for example, if you create a user variable for a dimension, select the variable in preferences,

create a data form, and then use the ISiblings function to select the user variable for a row or

column. When you open the data form, the siblings of the selected member are not displayed. To

resolve this issue when creating data forms, use the ISiblings function to select the member

directly instead of selecting a user variable. The member is then displayed correctly in the data

form.

9328504 - Click within a data form cell and select the drill through icon to display source data.

Using the “Drill Through” option in the “Edit” menu can cause Web browser problems.

9941358 – When using “Export as Spreadsheet”, you no longer have the “Open” option.

9786375, 8560164 – You cannot spread data from an account member’s summary cell to the base

time period if its “Time Balance” property is set to “Average” and its “Skip” property is set to

“Missing and Zeros”.

Page 10: Oracle Hyperion Planning, Fusion Edition, Release 11.1.1.4.00 … · 2011-08-29 · encoding format called UTF-8 (8-bit UCS/Unicode Transformation Format). Other utilities do not

10

9945942 - Undesired behavior occurs when using the “Lock/Unlock Cells” option during data

spread. For example, read-only data for months before a Start Period is adjusted and Year Total is

locked.

9654763 - When printing a data form to a PDF file, the columns are displaying as unformatted -

the column width is too small for the name of the member to get displayed. Workarounds: Select

“File”, then “Spreadsheet Export” and then use the formatting options in Excel to resize the fonts

and columns. Or use Smart View from within Excel to open and then print the form.

9435256 – Sometimes you cannot enter and save an expected value (for example, .32) into a cell

whose value has previously been rounded (for example, to .31999999999995).

11826967 - When you use a right-click menu associated with a data form to drill to a second

data form, the row member is not used to set the context in the second data form if the

members in the rows are shared members.

7451495 - Shared member hierarchies are not displayed correctly in data forms when the

“Suppress missing blocks” property is set.

9734723, 8620404 - Using the “Suppress missing blocks” setting with Dynamic Calc members in

data forms is not supported.

8323388 - If you select a custom column width in column properties and hide two dimensions in a

data form, the custom column width is applied correctly if the last dimension in the selection is

visible. However, the column width is not applied to the data form if the last column in the

selection is hidden.

7568207 - In data forms, aliases are not displayed for user variables if user variables are selected

for the POV.

8209856 - When Grid Spread is enabled for a data form and you enter a value for YearTotal, the

value is spread to quarters and months correctly. However, if you enter a new value for YearTotal,

very slight rounding errors can occur. This is a known JavaScript issue.

8259635 - For planners, the search feature is available in data forms, but an error displays when

they attempt to search.

8287852 - If data forms use the “Size-to-Fit” option in the “Row/Column Layout” tab of the

“Manage Data Form” page, they display across the width of the screen with no scroll bar.

8207900 - For data forms with hidden dimensions, column width is always set to Size-to-Fit.

7492790 - If the “Hide Dimension” column property is set for all dimensions in a column, the

column width is displayed correctly only if the Size-to-Fit option is selected.

6767528 - If you enter text containing a comma (for example, “Smith, Jane”) into a cell of type

Text, after you return to the data form, the text following the comma (for example, “Jane”) does

not display at all if there is only one column, or displays in the adjacent column if there are

multiple columns.

7634795 - If Suppress Missing Data is set for a data form during data form definition, when you

select Show Member Properties, a JavaScript error displays instead of an error message reminding

you that you cannot select Show Member Properties when Suppress Missing Data is set.

6998585 - When you add a member of data type Percentage to a data form as a user variable, the

member displays as data type Non-currency, and you cannot enter percentage values for the user

variable.

Page 11: Oracle Hyperion Planning, Fusion Edition, Release 11.1.1.4.00 … · 2011-08-29 · encoding format called UTF-8 (8-bit UCS/Unicode Transformation Format). Other utilities do not

11

7568207 - In data forms, aliases are not displayed for user variables if user variables are selected

for the POV.

8344389 - If a member in the Selected Members list has a space in its name, when you expand the

available members, the member displays as "member name ". To correct the display,

save the data form.

• 7393978 - Data that is added using supporting detail is not immediately aggregated correctly. To

get the correct aggregation numbers, refresh and save the data form, and then double-click the

cell having the supporting detail.

• 6900964 - When Alternate Time Periods in the Period dimension contain shared members, it is

possible for users to enter data into periods outside the specified Scenario.

• 7418009 - If a data form contains asymmetric rows or columns, and you use one or more

substitution variables exclusively in the asymmetric portion of the data form, the substitution

variable(s) do not display in a report.

• 8-617673510 - Older operating systems with older fonts may not support the EURO symbol. In

these cases, the EURO symbol does not display correctly in data forms. To work around this, the

administrator can manually change the EURO symbol in the relational database to EUR. Newer

operating systems that support the EURO symbol display it properly in data forms.

• 8-523841924 - YearTotal and Period are read-only unless one member for each summary time

period between YearTotal and the level 0 members is included in the data form definition.

• 6567496, 8-552782701 - To prevent subtotals for cells whose Data Type is set to Smart List, Data,

or Text, set their Storage option to Never Share.

6591729 - After exporting data from a Planning data form to Microsoft Excel, in the Essbase

Spreadsheet Addin, you cannot retrieve data if Planning member names contained a space.

9756409 – A data source name with an ampersand (&) in its name generates an error when you

select “Tools” and then “Manage Planning Data Source”.

6958098 - If you change the default port number for Essbase, 1423, to another number during

Essbase configuration, the URL given for the Essbase server when creating a data source must have the format . For example if the port number for the Essbase

server is set to 1400 during configuration, and the Essbase server is run on the local computer, the

URL is .

Display Issues

7279720 - On screens with low resolution (for example, 800 by 600), the Close button for the

Search box is not visible until the Search box is dragged to the left.

Exchange Rates

9194390 - If an Exchange Rate Table contains only values for Beginning Balance (Beg Bal) and

Historical rates, those values are not refreshed to Essbase when Planning is refreshed. To resolve

this issue, enter an Average or Ending rate, and then save the table.

8310900 - If you create an exchange rate table that contains values only for Beginning Balance

and Historical rates, these values are not refreshed to Essbase when you refresh the application

database on the Manage Database page. The values are refreshed if there is a value in at least one

other column of the exchange rate table, such as the Avg column for the first time period.

7441962 - When entering information in the Exchange Rate table, you must enter only numeric

values, even if you set the separator options in the Currency dimension. The Currency dimension

properties do not apply to Exchange Rate table entries.

Financial Data Quality Management

• FDM drillback is not available for Planning applications if you install FDM using a method other than

the one provided in Oracle Hyperion Enterprise Performance Management System Installation and

Configuration Guide. To resolve this, you must set an additional application property for FDM.

Note: When you install FDM using the standard installation procedure, do not set this property

because it overrides a property stored in the Registry for the FDM server.

To make FDM data available to a Planning application if FDM is not installed using the standard

installation procedure:

1. Log on to the application with which you want to use FDM data.

2. Select “Administration”, and then “Manage Properties”.

3. In the “Application Properties” tab, click “Add”, and then add this property name: .

4. Specify the location where FDM is installed as the property value. For example:

5. Click “Save”, and then restart the application server.

Note: Setting this property is also useful if you install FDM on a different server and want to

override the property stored in the Registry for the FDM server.

Job Console

10125728 – In the Job Console, filtering by user names is case-sensitive.

10639413 – In EPM Workspace, if you close the browser instance before a launched business rule

begins executing in the background and before the business rule has completed executing, the Job

Console does not indicate when the business rule has completed executing.

7485035 - Sometimes when a business rule requires ten minutes or more to run, a confirmation

message does not display. Open the Job Console page to verify that the business rule ran

successfully.

7449246 - When using OAM (Oracle Access Manager) and OID (Oracle Internet Directory) as well

as SSL, this error may occur intermittently when you attempt to open a log file attachment in the

Job Console:

Localization

• 8970964 - Planning does not support non-ASCII characters for passwords, such as Russian

characters.

7639511 - In Japanese, you cannot add planning unit annotations that are longer than 40

characters.

8352083 - On a Turkish locale, for non-Unicode mode applications, the ImportSecurity utility does

not function correctly, and error messages are displayed.

8333344 - When migrating applications used in the Chinese locale, sometimes business rules with

names that include Chinese characters are not migrated. To migrate these rules, manually add

them to the business rules folder after migrating application security using the command line utility.

8255534 - If you are using a Planning application in the Traditional Chinese locale and that

application was upgraded from Classic Planning, one or two of the Workforce Planning business

rules that you migrated and deployed after the upgrade may not display in that application. To

correct this situation if it occurs, redeploy the missing business rule or rules.

8292737 - If you use Planning in a locale other than English and use the Planning Outline Load

utility to load a date value into a Date account, the system may display the message “Incorrect

format.” Although the date value is not loaded, the utility continues to load other data values. If

this occurs, you must enter the date values manually in the Planning data form.

8280228 - When using Planning in a locale other than English, to create a particular task list report

a second time, close and reopen the application first.

8238831 - Localized product documentation is available for specific languages. When your browser

is set to a locale other than English, and the help system is not localized for that language, online

help for administrative tasks is available in English from the Help menu exclusively. If you click a

Help button to display help, an error displays instead.

8278282 - If your local and regional settings are set to the Russian language and you run a create

application command using the Performance Management Architect Batch Client, the application

name created is invalid.

7676366 - If you set the language in Internet Explorer 6.0 to Portuguese (Portugal) [pt], and

attempt to import a *.ads file in Performance Management Architect, errors can occur. For best

results, save the .ads files in UTF-8 format. Also make sure all the sections are replaced properly

as well.

8266973 – For Planning and Performance Management Architect to work properly with the Turkish

operating system, the Language in the browser must be set to Turkish, while the JVM locale must

be set to English.

7834482 - Users may experience problems when creating applications with the Turkish dotless i

character in the application name when using an Oracle or DB2 database. You should avoid using

the Turkish dotless i in the application name.

8278731 - The Performance Management Architect File Generator is only available in English; it

has not been translated.

Logging On

If you are using Windows 2003 Server Standard Edition, and Enhanced Security is enabled in your

browser, the Logon page does not display correctly. To work around this, add the site to the list of

trusted sites for your browser.

Lifecycle Management

9354660 - After exporting them to a destination application using Lifecycle Management, data

forms containing hidden rows may not display correctly in the destination application.

9215595 – When you import group provisioning (in which the Administrator role was assigned),

Lifecycle Management may recreate the existing group in Planning, causing this error to display: “ .” The log reports: "

".

10330447 – After importing a standard dimension into a target application using Lifecycle

Management, the performance setting order of the HSP_Rates dimension between the source and

target applications may be incorrect.

9185001 – Using Lifecycle Management to import a Planning application sometimes causes the

import process to become unresponsive with a status of “In Progress”.

9582373 - Business rules artifacts that exist on the destination environment are not updated or

overwritten during a Lifecycle Management import.

9787526 – Lifecycle Management does not migrate the last alias of an attribute dimension. To work

around this, create a temporary alias so that it occupies the last position, and then migrate the

attribute dimension. Lifecycle Management migrates the real aliases, but not the last-positioned

temporary alias. After migration is successful, delete the temporary alias.

9770097 – Using Lifecycle Management, same-named data forms from different subfolders are

incorrectly migrated into the same folder.

9943414 – Lifecycle Management does not work with Planning artifacts having the special

character forward slash (/)in the artifact name.

9974148, 9839091, 10164932 – Lifecycle Management does not update existing task lists.

11854529 – After migrating a composite data form using Lifecycle Management, the data form’s

Instructions no longer display.

Menus

• 6541908, 1-248362733 - When you access an EPM Workspace report using a Planning URL menu

item, you cannot export the report to Microsoft Excel or print the report in PDF format.

• 6537438, 1-161666741 - When you right-click to open a menu in a data form, you must click

directly on the dimension member name displayed for the row heading. Otherwise, the menu does

not open.

Offline Planning

10185663 – With a large number of form folders (for example, over 200), the Take Offline Wizard

can take up to 20 minutes. Also, all data form folders are displayed instead of only those

containing data forms that are enabled for Offline.

12626544 - Sometimes Offline menus do not display on Windows 7 or Windows 2008 systems. To

work around this, install Offline in console mode:

The previous steps correct the problem in most cases. However, if the problem persists, then check

the registry entries:

1. Determine if registry keys were created under:

For 64-bit operating systems:

For 32-bit operating systems:

If they were not, add them by continuing this procedure.

2. Using a text editor, open the file , which is installed in the

directory.

3. Make sure all paths in this file match the physical install location and have double slashes.

For example, the location of and the

value would be: .

4. At the command line, change the directory to < , type

, and then press “Enter”.

Note: This bug does not occur when Offline is installed using the EPM System Installer.

8262080 - When you select “Hyperion”, then “Forms”, and then “Take Offline” in a locale other

than English, the wizard displays in English, rather than the expected locale.

7379099 - If you connect using Provider Services and want to work offline, you must first ensure

that the Planning data source is listed in the Favorites from the View menu as described in Setting

Data Source Manager Views in the Smart View online help.

7230774 - Shared members do not display in the member selection page when you take a data

form offline. However, you can see the shared members when you view the data form in Smart

View.

• 6569522 - If a data form contains dynamically-calculated members, those members are not

available when the data form is taken offline.

• 8-555277891 - When users who are non-administrator Windows users try to take a data form

offline, the Offline Provider becomes nonresponsive. To prevent this, assign non-administrator

Windows users read and write access to the following directories and file:

• 8-525531472 - The first time users download offline content, formatting disappears. This does not

occur for subsequent downloads, and it never occurs for administrators.

• 8-525633234 - When content is taken offline, POV dimensions are sorted alphabetically instead of

in outline order.

• 8-527378754 - The default launch value for a sequence of business rules is not saved. Users must

enter the launch location each time they launch a sequence of rules offline.

• 6562493, 8-503997679 - In Offline Planning, you cannot save supporting detail for cells with a

data type of Date.

Operating Systems

7420574 - When running Planning on a UNIX system, rename the output file from the utility to before running the utility.

Outline Load Utility

12318933 – The utility does not load the Account dimension when its dimension

name has a space in it.

9787036 - The utility does not ignore line breaks in member formulas. Because the

OutlineLoad utility interprets every line as a separate member, the outline load fails if the CSV

input file contains member formulas with line breaks. Workaround: Remove the line breaks from

the member formulas.

9714759 – After loading using the utility, an invalid Source Plan Type is set for

Account members that are valid only for Plan3.

10196208 – If you launch the utility without matching the case of the application’s

name (for example, you type hp95 instead of HP95), users and groups are not added, and existing

users and groups are removed.

7134449 - It is possible to load exchange rates to non-level-zero time periods using the

utility. However, this is not supported because Planning allows exchange rates to be loaded

only to level 0 time periods. Ensure that you load exchange rate data to level 0 time period

members.

7435804 - When you run the utility, the application name parameter is case-

sensitive.

Performance Management Architect

12740924 – After importing Performance Management Architect Planning applications using

Lifecycle Management, menus are no longer associated with their data forms. Workaround: Re-

import the simple data forms, composite data forms, and menus together.

9458229 – Performance Management Architect does not validate case-sensitive dimension

property values (for example, “Nevershare”) that are loaded through an ADS file. However, when

the Planning application is deployed, if the case of the property in Performance Management

Architect does not match Planning’s case, deployment fails.

10005200 - The Data Synchronizer stops processing when it encounters errors in some rows (for

example, commas in the data column for text data). If the data synchronizer encounters errors

during processing, it should continue processing and report problematic records as errors.

12402565 – The Performance Management Architect Data Synchronizer does not report an error

when a member in the source file is invalid.

17

10254494 - When you deploy a Planning application for the first time in Performance Management

Architect, if the alias of any member is set to “Month”, the deployment may not work. To work

around this issue, rename the alias to something other than “Month” and then run a deployment.

After the first successful deployment, you can reset the alias back to “Month”, and subsequent

deployments will work.

7443091, 7428269 - Deploying or redeploying large applications in Performance Management

Architect sometimes fails with OutOfMemory errors.

7454182 - If an application has only plan types that are enabled for Workforce and/or Capital

Asset Planning, the Consolidation property for dimension members is not set when the application

is upgraded in Performance Management Architect.

7637138 - When deploying Performance Management Architect Planning applications, the

deployment may seem to be successful. However, when you attempt to view the application in the

Application Library, you may not find the target application, and therefore cannot delete it or

attempt to redeploy it.

8299655 - An out of memory error may occur when attempting to upgrade a very large application

from Classic Planning.

Planning or Consolidation applications containing extended or double-byte characters in dimension

names may encounter issues when upgrading to 9.3.1.x and 11.1.x and using Performance

Management Architect. If your application contains ASCII + 127 or double-byte characters, please

contact Oracle Support for assistance. Applications using Classic Administration are not affected.

8254818 - In some cases the initialization of Capital Asset Planning accounts erroneously sets the

Workforce Planning accounts to valid for Capital Asset Planning, and then the deployment to

Planning fails. To solve this situation, check the Workforce Planning accounts, and uncheck the

valid for Capital Asset Planning property where it should not be set.

8281658 - When initializing Capital Asset Planning and Workforce Planning for multiple currency

enabled Planning applications, users must ensure that aggregation for Version members is set

according to their expectations. By default, aggregation for Version and Scenario members is set to

+. Users should review these settings.

7429430, 8-541932131 - Planning uses the DimensionAlias property for deploying dimensions,

including Smart List dimensions. When you create a Smart List, you must select System (not

Planning) from the drop-down list and set the DimensionAlias property to match the

DimensionName; otherwise, a member’s association to the Smart List is lost during deployment.

The Performance Management Architect drop-down list for Smart List in the Property grid displays

the DimensionName for the Smart List dimension, not the DimensionAlias property.

7273826 - Issues with deployment status may occur in Workforce Planning applications. If a

Workforce Planning application is deployed using the Application Creation wizard, the status of the

application may still indicate that it is out of sync with the deployment. You can redeploy the

application to correct the issue with the deployment status.

7530571, 7436675 - To avoid issues with deployment of a Planning application in Enterprise

Performance Management Architect migrated from the 9.3 release:

1. Complete the Planning configuration.

2. Run the EPM System Configurator again:

a. Select “Upgraded Planning and Deploy to Application Server” task.

b. On the “Application Server” screen, select “Set up” in the ”Advance” column.

c. In the “Advance Setup” dialog box, select the Planning instance name from the 9.3.x version

in the Use an existing Logical address drop-down list.

d. Click “OK”, and then finish the configuration.

The correct instance name displays for the migrated Planning applications in Performance

Management Architect.

Planning Adapters

• DIM Adapter for Planning and Application Link Planning Adapter for Planning load information only

into Classic applications. Load information into Performance Management Architect applications

using a flat file.

9672427, 9715549 - In the IKM SQL Knowledge Module of Oracle Data Integrator, setting "LOAD

ORDER BY INPUT" as false ("LOAD ORDER BY INPUT" = "FALSE") does not sort records in

ascending alphanumeric order before loading them in Planning applications. Additionally,

dimensions and members may not load, and you receive a “ ” or

an “ ” error message.

Process Management

8561442 – Deleting a member that is the first member in a started Planning Unit Hierarchy causes

Planning to stop responding when the database is refreshed. To avoid this issue, move the first

member of the hierarchy to a different place in the hierarchy, or stop the planning unit.

12358276 – Even though a planning unit has been submitted (which should lock its intersection),

users are able to change data in that planning unit using business rules.

Relational Databases

• Planning requires in Oracle to be set to the default setting, . If you have

performance issues with Planning database refresh, check this setting to be sure it is set to .

• 6553650, 3-163900 - For applications running on Oracle or DB2 relational databases, it is possible

to create data forms and user groups that have the same name. Oracle recommends that you do

not create data forms and groups with the same name. If data forms or groups with the same

name exist in an application, you should rename them so they have unique names before you

upgrade to the most recent version of Planning. You should also change data form names that have

the same name in a different case (uppercase versus lowercase) before upgrading to Planning on

Oracle or DB2. Using unique names can provide better performance with data forms on the Web.

• 6554782, 3-395487 - On Oracle databases, if two users save supporting detail at the same time

when clustering over several Web application servers, one user may get an error message. If this

happens, the user should resubmit the supporting detail. If this situation happens often and you do

not need to run in a cluster for performance reasons, you could use a single server. This error can

happen only in clustered mode.

Sample Application

9273009 - The member formulas in the Planning Sample application are hard-coded to the year

"FY09", causing database refresh to fail. Workaround:

1. Initialize the Sample Application in Planning. 2. In Essbase, create a substitution variable for the fiscal year (for example, ).

3. In this substitution variable, save the appropriate year.

4. For those accounts that failed in the database refresh, replace in their member formulas all

references to the fiscal year “FY09” with the substitution variable.

5. To ensure that all member formulas are correct, perform a database refresh. 6. Extract the file file from the

.

7. Replace all occurrences of "FY11" with "FY13", "FY10" with "FY12", "FY09" with "FY11", and

save the file.

Note: When the Sample Application is created, it assumes the system date as the Start Year of

the application, so this step may change if the Sample Application is created in the year 2012,

Page 19: Oracle Hyperion Planning, Fusion Edition, Release 11.1.1.4.00 … · 2011-08-29 · encoding format called UTF-8 (8-bit UCS/Unicode Transformation Format). Other utilities do not

for example. In this case, replace "FY11" with "FY14", "FY10" with "FY13", and "FY09" with

"FY12".

8. Using the Essbase Administration Services console, use the file to load the

sample data.

Smart Lists

8846436 - When entries are used in Smart Lists, the entry names

rather than the entry values are displayed. For example, suppose

contains the entry . If the value is added to a Smart List,

is displayed instead of when the Smart List is opened in Planning.

7661707 - When Smart List members are summed in top-down versions, they display in data

forms as the sum of the Smart Lists IDs. This does not occur when Smart List members are

summed in bottom-up versions.

7674228 , 8297360 - Application validation fails if a Smart List dimension member name contains a

hyphen. At this time, no error message displays. However, a generic "errors on page" browser

error occurs that displays a warning icon (a yellow triangle in Internet Explorer, at the bottom left

of the window). To work around the problem, remove the hyphens in the member names in the

Smart List dimension and revalidate the application.

Smart View

10138648 - If a data form has Dynamic Time Series members in the columns or rows, when the

form is opened in Smart View, an invalid form message is displayed. If the Dynamic Time Series

members are in the Page dimension, the form opens without an error.

9032377 - When using ad hoc analysis in Planning through Smart View, audit information may not

be saved.

9395874 - Data forms created from other data forms using “Save As” are displayed as empty

Microsoft Excel spreadsheets when you select “Open” in Smart View.

9690538 - If a data form name contains an ampersand character (&), the form cannot be opened

in Smart View using the File menu's “Open in Smart View” menu option.

10429465 – In Smart View, if a member alias has an ampersand character (&) in its name, the

Page members in a data form are incorrect.

12631602 – Shared members do not display in ad hoc analysis in Smart View.

8281619 - When Planning data forms include hidden segments, columns and rows are displayed if

the data form is retrieved from Smart View.

7447170 - Data forms that support multiple currencies and have the option “Allow multiple

currencies per entity” set do not display correctly in Smart View.

6801248 - Smart View Ad Hoc analysis features do not support data form segment properties.

Shared Services

• 7614584 - When you open the User Management Console from Planning, and Shared Services and

Planning are configured to use SSL Offloader, the new browser window exposes the SSO token and

Session ID.

• 7373699 - If you select the setting “Display Users’ Full Names”, then user names and group names

are not sorted alphabetically in the “Add Access” window.

6544365, 1-286587351, 1-288947391 - A user name in a Planning application cannot exceed

forty characters.

Page 20: Oracle Hyperion Planning, Fusion Edition, Release 11.1.1.4.00 … · 2011-08-29 · encoding format called UTF-8 (8-bit UCS/Unicode Transformation Format). Other utilities do not

Task Lists

8983629 - If you expand a task in the task list, the task name field may display under the address

bar, partially obscuring details shown in “Task List”.

7188334 - Access permissions for task lists are removed if you run the utility with

the flag, even if task list entries exist in the file.

6576134, 8-583949250 - When a user does not have access to a particular rule in a task list, all

the rules the user has access to display.

Web Application Servers

7461489 - If you are using WebLogic in Planning in the EPM Workspace, when you launch business

rules that run longer than five minutes, business rules may continue to run until they are cancelled

manually. Workaround: Update the parameter in the file

to specify the timeout value in seconds for the socket connection.

Web Browsers

• 12810234 – With Mozilla Firefox 5, business rules that are launched from a right-click menu in

the same window may cause the browser to become unresponsive. Workaround: When creating a

right-click menu to launch a business rule, select the menu item property "Launch in a Separate

Window" so that those business rules are launched in a separate window.

12731615 - With Mozilla Firefox 5, invoking the Calendar window by clicking its icon from within

Planning resizes the application window. Workaround: Select “Tools”, then “Options”, and then

“Tabs”. Clear the option "Open new windows in a new tab instead".

When you open multiple Planning applications or pages, use the EPM Workspace tabs instead of the

browser tabs. If you open multiple applications from browser tabs, for example, in Internet

Explorer 7 or Firefox, logging out of one application logs out of all applications for that browser

session.

• 6547043, 1-458726121 - With the Firefox browser, long submenu labels do not completely display.

• 8483096 – The Firefox browser does not support copying and pasting data values from Excel to

Planning data forms and between Planning data forms.

7829503 - At times, the upper part of the masthead may be partially hidden behind the browser

toolbar. For example, this can occur in Basic Mode if you work on a task that has a subordinate

task, and then expand the task list in the view pane. It can also occur when you open a data form,

launch one of its business rules from the “Business Rules” page, and then close the status message

at the top of the page.

Capital Asset Planning Module

• 8251279 - When you use any Capital Asset Planning business rule that uses a date as a runtime

prompt, make sure that the Date Format is set to an option other than “Automatically Detect”.

Using this option with these business rules may cause problems with the date.

7667635 - When you are working with a Capital Asset Planning application, setting Date Format

within Preferences does not affect the date format. The format defaults to MM-DD-YYYY no matter

what format you select. To format a date differently, manually enter the date format, rather than

setting it using Date Format.

8-558153011 - If you are upgrading from an earlier release and the names of your predefined,

required dimensions (for example, Accounts and Entities) do not match the new application

Page 21: Oracle Hyperion Planning, Fusion Edition, Release 11.1.1.4.00 … · 2011-08-29 · encoding format called UTF-8 (8-bit UCS/Unicode Transformation Format). Other utilities do not

21

dimension names (for example, Account and Entity), you cannot initialize your Capital Asset

Planning application.

To avoid this problem:

1. Upgrade your application to this release.

2. Using Classic application administration, rename the dimensions in Planning.

3. Optional: If you want to use Performance Management Architect, migrate your Planning

Application View in Performance Management Architect. If you do so, you can no longer use

Classic application administration with this application.

• 7440614 - If you change the predefined Capital Asset Planning plan type name (Capex) in a Classic

Planning application, when you upgrade the application to Performance Management Architect,

right-clicking to launch predefined Capital Asset Planning business rules from data forms may fail.

Workaround: Before you upgrade the Planning Classic application to Performance Management

Architect, edit the associated menu items by changing the Business Rules menu type to any other

(for example Data Form), and then save it. Reopen this menu item, and then change it back to

Business Rules type.

• 7154944 - If a Capital Asset Planning application has one or more shared dimensions, initializing

the application fails if all dimensions associated with the shared dimensions are not included in the

application.

• 6569804, 8-541494273 - If you are using Performance Management Architect application

administration, and you change the Capital Asset Planning plan type name (Capex) before you

deploy the Application View, the plan type name remains unchanged.

• 8-533678131 - Asset class member names are repeated for each line item in the new asset request

form. To avoid this, clear the “Suppress missing blocks” option for the data form. Select

“Administration”, then “Manage Data Form”, select the data form to edit, then clear “Suppress

missing blocks” in the “Row/Column Layout” tab. This may affect performance.

• 6568137, 8-530312671 - On data forms “03. Manage Existing Specified” and “06. Manage Existing

Intangibles Specified”, the basic cost is calculated for each asset item, but the overall Basic Cost

for Tangible Assets is not calculated, and the row is not displayed until you launch the Calculate

Asset business rule.

Workforce Planning Module

• 7440614 - If you change the predefined Workforce Planning plan type name (Wrkforce) in a

Planning Classic application, when you upgrade the application to Performance Management

Architect, data forms may fail. Workaround: before you upgrade the Planning Classic application to

Performance Management Architect, edit the associated menu items by changing the Business

Rules menu type to any other (for example Data Form), and then save it. Reopen this menu item

and change it back to Business Rules type.

• 8-558153011 - If you are upgrading from an earlier release and the names of your predefined,

required dimensions (for example, Accounts and Entities) do not match the new application

dimension names (for example, Account and Entity), you cannot initialize your Workforce Planning

application.

• 7154944 - If a Workforce Planning application has one or more shared dimensions, initializing the

application fails if all dimensions associated with the shared dimensions are not included in the

application.

• 6539342, 1-180925717 - You cannot access the predefined business rules in Workforce Planning

until you set up access permissions for them in Administration Services.

To set up access to the Workforce Planning business rules:

1. Make sure the Administration Services server is started.

2. Log on to Administration Services console with the user name and password that you

provisioned in Shared Services.

3. Select “Business Rules”, then “Repository View”, and then “Rules” to view the predefined

Workforce Planning business rules.

4. Under Business Rules, select “Administration”, then “Locations”. Right-click “All Locations”, and

then click “Open”.

5. Click “Assign Access Privileges”, select the business rules for which you want to assign access,

and then click “OK”.

6. Select the users and groups to which you want to assign access, and then click “Save”. The

selected users and groups now have access to the selected business rules.

If you did not rename the Workforce plan type, you can access these business rules with right-click

menus in the Workforce Planning predefined data forms. If you renamed the Workforce plan type

when creating the application, you must do the following to make the predefined business rules

accessible by right-click menus in the Workforce Planning data forms.

here:

https://support.oracle.com/oip/faces/secure/km/DocumentDisplay.jspx?id=1292603.1

The following issues are the noteworthy issues fixed in this release.

This release includes the fixed defects in the following Planning service fixes: 11.1.1.3.05,

11.1.1.3.04, 11.1.1.3.03, 11.1.1.3.02, and 11.1.1.3.01. The Oracle Hyperion Planning Service Fix

11.1.1.3.05 - Patch 10190601 Readme provides a complete list of these fixed defects.

10379766 - Mass Allocate must accommodate 8-digit values.

10374224 - You cannot run more than eight concurrent Calculation Manager business rules from

Planning.

10140023 – During long-running processes, Planning sometimes loses its connection to Essbase.

12722749 – If the Planning server is running on a non-English locale, currency conversion

calculation scripts created in Planning may not be available from the Business Rules page that is

accessed from the Tools menu.

12616568, 12549493 – During data synchronization in Performance Management Architect, the

Level0(member) and BottomofHierarchy(member) functions move all leaf level data of the

dimension and ignore the specified member argument.

12565625 - Smart Lists do not work with user variables.

Page 24: Oracle Hyperion Planning, Fusion Edition, Release 11.1.1.4.00 … · 2011-08-29 · encoding format called UTF-8 (8-bit UCS/Unicode Transformation Format). Other utilities do not

12556487 – In Smart View, if the “Suppress missing” option is enabled, you may receive a

“ error when opening a data form with zero rows or zero columns in ad

hoc mode.

12536975 – If a data form exists under many subfolders that makes its relative path very long, the

data form is not listed in the Offline Wizard, and you cannot take it offline unless you move it up in

the folder hierarchy.

12402134 – When you move the cursor from a cell whose value is 0.XXX%, the percentage value

displays as .XXX%, without the 0 (zero). To correct this, refresh the page or save the data.

11887002 – The "Suppress Hierarchy" option for row dimensions in Planning data forms is ignored

with PDF Print Preview.

11723453 – Data Synchronization in Performance Management Architect does not correctly

transfer data that begins with the # sign.

11710223 – Sometimes when you edit Account member properties, Plan3 is not available to select

as the Source Plan Type. The circumstances: the Account parent member is set as Not Valid For

Plan1. Then add a child member that is only Valid For Plan3, which makes the Source Plan Type on

the child member disappear so the child member cannot be saved.

10313933 – Spaces in attribute dimension names do not display correctly on the Manage Attributes

page.

10112595 – Occasionally when multiple users are executing business rules / calculation scripts, the

following error is displayed: “ .”

8597852 - Data forms with names containing parentheses ( or ) are not exported by Lifecycle

Management.

12315470, 9166166 – Using Smart View to open a data form that suppresses rows containing no

data or #missing can cause these data forms to display all rows. When this occurs, refresh the data

form to hide the suppressed rows.

Updated Outline Load Utility Capabilities for Release 11.1.1.1

The Planning Outline Load utility includes these updated capabilities in Planning Release 11.1.1.1:

• Loading data by specifying driver members in the . load file

• Updates for setting exchange rates

• Additional Outline Utility updates

Note: Use the information in this readme as a supplement to the information documented in “Working

with the Outline Load Utility” in the Oracle Hyperion Planning Administrator’s Guide. Detailed

information on using the Outline Load utility is included in the Oracle Hyperion Planning Administrator’s

Guide.

Loading Data by Specifying Driver Members in the Load File

Use the information in this topic as a supplement to the “Loading Data” topic in the Oracle

Hyperion Planning Administrator’s Guide.

In Planning Release 11.1.1.1, you can load data by specifying driver members in the load file.

(In the previous release, you could load data only if driver members were specified on the Planning

Data Load Administration page.)

When using this data load method, you run the Outline Load utility with the /TR option, and list the

driver member in the file. The file must list all other members under the Point-of-View

column, regardless of their location on the Planning data form. For example, if Jan or Descendants

(YearTotal) are columns in a data form, they must be specified in the Point-of-View column.

When using /TR, you can load one value per row in the file. You can include multiple rows, but

you can specify only one data value per row.

Important! The Planning DIRECT_DATA_LOAD system property enables data to be loaded directly to

Essbase. In the current release, this property is set to true by default. This means that data is

loaded directly into Essbase if you do not update this property and use /TR with driver members

specified in the file. To prevent data from being loaded directly into Essbase when using ,

you must set DIRECT_DATA_LOAD to false. For information on setting Planning system properties,

see the Oracle Hyperion Planning Administrator’s Guide.

Caution! Oracle recommends backing up the application and application databases before loading

information. Following these steps affects data in the database. See the Oracle Hyperion Enterprise

Performance Management System Backup and Recovery Guide.

/ Load data when driver members are specified in the file

in the Driver Members column. All members except the driver member must be specified in the Point-of-View column. With / , you can load one value per row in the file. See

“Loading Data by Providing Information in the Load File.”

Example: Using

Loading Data

To load data with the Outline Load utility by specifying driver members in the load file:

1. Back up as described in the Oracle Hyperion Enterprise Performance Management System

Backup and Recovery Guide.

Page 26: Oracle Hyperion Planning, Fusion Edition, Release 11.1.1.4.00 … · 2011-08-29 · encoding format called UTF-8 (8-bit UCS/Unicode Transformation Format). Other utilities do not

26

2. Set Planning System properties.

a. Log in to the Planning application.

b. Select “Administration”, then “Manage Properties”, and then click the “System

Properties” tab.

c. Set the and properties:

• If is set to , or if you do not specify a value for this property,

information is loaded directly into Essbase while the load file records are processed. For

this method to work correctly, the outlines maintained in Planning and Essbase must be synchronized. The load file must not specify any Planning outline changes unless

they have already been refreshed to Essbase.

• If is set to , the Outline Load utility processes the load file

that you created to generate a data file (. ) and rule file (. ). This way, the

Planning and Essbase outlines do not need to be synchronized because data is not

loaded at this time. You can refresh the changes at a convenient time to propagate the

metadata changes to Essbase, and then load data directly into Essbase (for example,

using Administration Services).

In most cases, set to , and set to the location

and name that is used for the generated data and rules files, for example, . Ensure that these properties are set in the “System Properties”

tab in the “Manage Properties” page. For information on setting Planning system properties,

see the Oracle Hyperion Planning Administrator’s Guide.

3. Generate a comma-separated load file containing these columns:

• Driver Member: The member into which data is loaded. You can have one driver

dimension per load. Multiple members can be defined for the driver dimension. The

value is passed as a string representing a numeric value, or, if a Smart List is bound to

the member, as a Smart List value.

• Point-of-View: All other dimensions required to determine the intersection for which to load the data. When using , include all of the members except the driver member.

The data load automatically performs cross-product record creations based on the

dimension parameters in the point of view (POV). The load file creates and loads the

data record for each relevant cell intersection. The value is passed as a string. The POV

accepts a comma-separated list of members, including member functions. For example,

children(Q1) is expanded to Jan, Feb, Mar during the load. The corresponding records are

generated based on the cross product of all member combinations and the data value.

• Data Load Cube Name: The name of the plan type to which data is being loaded. The

value is passed as a string. Values include any plan types specified in the application,

such as Plan1.

4. Test the load file and run the utility using the option.

a. Locate the utility, installed by default in /products/Planning/bin.

b. To confirm that the load file parses without any errors, run the utility using the /N

parameter, and then check the outline log file to be sure no error messages were

generated. Running the utility with /N does not load data or metadata, but ensures that

the load file parses successfully. For example, you could use this command line to

check the load file for a Planning application called test:

Page 27: Oracle Hyperion Planning, Fusion Edition, Release 11.1.1.4.00 … · 2011-08-29 · encoding format called UTF-8 (8-bit UCS/Unicode Transformation Format). Other utilities do not

c. You can then run the utility from the command line without , using the case-sensitive

command, one space, and the appropriate parameters. For example:

For detailed information on the parameters available for the Outline Load utility, see

“Dimension Properties” in the Oracle Hyperion Planning Administrator’s Guide.

Updates for Setting Exchange Rates

Planning Release 11.1.1.1 includes updated syntax for loading exchange rates. You can now set exchange rates using instead of . Using

loads the dimension and creates exchange rate tables if they do not

exist. (This is similar to , except that rejects records if exchange rate tables specified in the

input file do not exist.)

Use this information as a supplement to “Command Line Parameters for the Outline Load Utility” in

the Oracle Hyperion Planning Administrator’s Guide, Release 11.1.1.

Updated example for setting exchange rates:

Example: Load Exchange Rates, add EUR as a member of the Currency dimension, and change

the year in the file to match an existing year in the Planning application. The exchange

rate table is created in the Planning application if it does not exist.

Additional Outline Load Utility Updates

These updates apply to the “Working with the Outline Load Utility” section in the Oracle Hyperion

Planning Administrator’s Guide, Release 11.1.1. Use this information as a supplement to the

information in the Oracle Hyperion Planning Administrator’s Guide.

• Data values containing commas and quotation marks must be enclosed in quotation marks.

""",quoted,"""",string,""" ",quoted,"",string,"

• Currency examples should use EUR instead of DEM.

• In the “Account Dimension Properties” table, the Data Type row should list with

a hyphen.

Note: Not all of the documentation for this product has been updated from Release 11.1.1.1, 11.1.1.2,

or 11.1.1.3. Similarly, the product UI may not have been updated since these releases.

Oracle Hyperion Planning User’s Guide

• 7358065 - In the section “Spreading Values Using Mass Allocations”, add these Spread Type

options:

Evenly Split – spreads the value evenly among the target cells

Fill – Replaces the value in all target cells

• 6639357 - In the sections “Spreading Values Using Grid Spread” and “Spreading Values Using Mass

Allocations”, add this Note to the Fill spread type:

The Time Balance property setting affects how data is spread with the Fill option. See the section

“How Spreading Data Works.”

Oracle Hyperion Planning Administrator’s Guide

8873958 - You cannot customize text, color, and images as described in the Hyperion Planning

Administrators Guide.

7116707, 7016428 - Throughout this guide, ignore references to the “Remove Non-Provisioned

Users/Groups” button. The button was removed from the interface.

8514416 – In the section “Importing Access Permissions,” the example to clear all access

permissions for the command ( ) has an extra comma. The

example command should read as follows:

11700262 - Composite data forms display several data forms simultaneously, even those

associated with different plan types. Previously in composite data forms, all business rules

associated with the included data forms would run, even if the rules were not selected for the

composite data form. Now you control which data forms’ business rules run in composite data

forms by selecting them for the composite data form. Business rules from included data forms do

not run unless they are selected for the composite data form itself. To select business rules for a

composite data form, select “Administration”, and then “Manage Data Forms”. Select the composite

data form, click “Edit”, click the “Business Rules” tab, and then select which source data form’s

business rules to run from the composite data form. For example, to run all the business rules

associated with a source data form named “Total Expense Impact”, select “<Business rules for

Total Expense Impact>”.

In Chapter 5, “Loading Data and Metadata”, in the section “Overview of Loading Information,” note

that in Table 27, “Data Load Tools”, the row for Performance Management Architect should state in

the Comments column that this tool loads all types of Planning data, not just numeric values.

• 6770581 - For Hyperion Planning Release 11.1.1.1, deploying the Sample Application is supported

only for Classic Planning applications.
