Team Members: Joshua Johnson & Jerry Yang
July 2016
Why are we here?
Purpose of this presentation• Provide an overview of the EBS 12.2.5 demo install
• Share test results
• Answer questions
• Discuss potential use cases and next steps
Project Status
During our trial, we’ve created multiple, publicly accessible, Oracle EBS 12.2.5 vision demo instances.
This is, by far, the easiest way to install and configure an Oracle EBS 12.2.5 demo.

Configuration steps via the Oracle Compute Service Console and Putty or SSH (1 hour)
• Configure the EBS Instance for HTTP Access
• Create a Security Application
• Create a Security Rule
• Review Oracle EBS VM Configuration
• Configure the Web Entry Point
• Configure Public IP Address / Internal Host Name of Client Machine
Restart EBS Services and begin testing out the new features of
Oracle EBS 12.2.5!
Known Issues
Issues encountered• SSH connectivity failure
• Scripts missing from default install paths
• adautocfg.sh completing with errors during the configwebentry.sh
• EBS login fails – redirects to a page that fails to loadWe were able to resolve most of these issues quickly by following the steps prescribed by Oracle within the official documentation for deploying a demo EBS 12.2.5 vision instance. Provision a New Single-Node Oracle EBS Installation in the Oracle Compute Cloud Service
Known Issues: SSH Connectivity - timeout
Likely caused by an issue during the orchestration / instance creation
• This error occurred in all of the instances that were also missing scripts or directories.
To correct this error, create a new Security Rule using the ssh Security Application.
Known Issues: Missing Directories or Scripts
Caused by an issue during the orchestration / instance creation
Oracle documented remediation1. Edit /etc/fstab and change 'xvda4' to 'xvdb4'.
2. As the root user, run the command:3. $ /usr/sbin/oraclevm-template –enable
4. Ensure that no database or application tier processes are running. If they are running, shut them down.
5. Reboot the VM by running the 'reboot' command.
Known Issues: AutoConfig completing with errors
Caused in our case by an incorrect apps password.• The default password for the apps user is “apps”
Known Issues: Page fails to load after EBS login
This was caused by a few errors in our configuration attempts.• We attempted to modify the public URL outside of the prescribed
template for the tutorial while running the configwebentry.sh
• We modified the /etc/hosts entry to match this attempt.
• We used the incorrect password for apps during the
configwebentry.shThis resulted in multiple errors surrounding the EBS login and subsequent pages.
• After updating the entry in /etc/hosts and attempting to run configwebentry.sh, we were able to see the login page.
• However, upon login, we were redirected to a non-existent page matching our earlier modification. This is when we determined that the apps password was incorrect.
