    Use a rectangle of paper, Letter (8 x 11 inches) or A4 (21 x 29.7 cm)in size. It will be perfect for storing standard cards, measuring 3.5 x 2inches (9 x 5 cm).

    The finished model will be measuring about 4 x 2.5 inches (11 x 6 cm).

    If using two-color paper, beginwith the colored side down.

    Start with a rectangle in theportrait position (vertical pageorientation). Valley fold it in halffrom bottom to top. Press thepaper f lat and unfold it.

    Valley fold the top andbottom edges over tomeet the middle fold-line. Press them flatand unfold them.

    Valley fold the sheet in half from side to side. Donot press the paper completely flat, but press downon it just a little, at the bottom and top edges,thereby making the small fold-marks, as shown.Then, unfold it.

    BActually this vertical editionof Elegant Card Holder canbe used for many things, notonly for cards. Dependingon the initial size of arectangle it could be also acover for an album or abook, or a hanging pocketfor pencils and such.

    Calculation of paper size:

    For an object, measuring A short side and B -long side, use a rectangle of paper with the short side2.5 x A and the long side 4.5 x B, as pictured.

    2.5A x 4.5B

    For instance:

    For storing visiting card measuring 9x5 cm (3.5x2 inch),the initial rectangle of paper should be 12.5x40.5cm(5x16inch)The finished model will be measuring about 4 x 2.5inches (10 x 6.5 cm).

    Fold the elegant passport holder, just following the diagrams of foldingof the base model of Elegant Card holder. It will hold your passportsnugly but at the same time allow easy access. It could be great fortravel, as you can add there also tickets, luggage-tags and so on.

    Actually this elegant holder can be used for many things and alsocould be a cover for a book. Just calculate the detentions of the initialsize of a rectangle basing on the detentions of the object you desireto be kept in the holder.

    Calculation of paper size:For an object, measuring A long side and B - short side,use a rectangle of paper with the short side 2.1 x A and thelong side 4.5 x B, as pictured.

    Choose paper wisely, bearing in mind that weight of paper and the desired size of the finishedmodel should be balanced. So paper shouldnt be thin or too thick and need to be flexible enough.Experiment with different kind of paper from kraft paper to fancy Chiyogami paper that could bedecorative, and sometimes recycling materials as a city map, a poster or a folded flyer may worksurprisingly well either.

    If using two-color paper, beginwith the colored side down.

    Place the paper in a vertical position, asshown. Follow the diagrams of folding of thebase model of Elegant Card holder.

    You may fold an elegant holder, which will be storing squares or squareobjects. You just need to take an appropriate rectangle of paper tostart with and follow the diagrams of folding of the base model ofElegant Card holder.

    Calculation of paper size:To fit a square object with a side, measuring A and keep a certainfree space in the holder, use a rectangle of paper, 1:2 in proportion,with the short side 2.5 x A and the long side 5 x A, as pictured.

    For instance:For keeping 4-inch (10 cm) squares in the holder, take the initialrectangle of paper, measuring 10x20 inch (25x50cm).The finished holder will be measuringabout 5 x 4.5 inches (12.5 x 12 cm).

    Elegant Square Holder will workideal for storing CDs. To fit CDsexactly, without free space atsides, use a rectangle of paper,1:2 in proportion, with the shortside 2.1 x A and the long side4.2 x A, where A is a diameterof a CD.

    So in order to fit regular CDssized 4 3/4 inch (12 cm), usethe initial rectangle, measuring10 x 20 inch (25.2 x 50.4 cm).

    Elegant Square Holder will work ideal for storing CDs.

    This model was designed exclusively to be folded from the Americanstandard copy paper, measuring 8.5 x 11 inches (21.6 x 27.9 cm) insize. The finished model will be measuring about 3.5 x 2.5 inches (9x 6.5 cm).However there is a possibility to fold this model to the European standardcopy paper of A4 size, so in this case trim an A4 sheet to be a rectangle,21 x 27 cm in size and use it to fold. You will get practically the samedesign with a very small change in proportions. The finished model willbe measuring about 9.2 x 5.7 cm.If using two-color paper, begin with colored side down.Place the rectangle in vertical orientation.

    Now fold theright-hand flapto the left.

    Form mountain folds alongthe adjacent edges, asshown, making the creasesover all the layers.

    Mountain fold the topflap back and compressthe model along theexisting fold-lines asshown.

    Press the model flat.Then, open the frontflap up.

    Valley fold andunfold the littlecorners alongthe existingfold-lines.

    Working with the left-hand side,separate the layer, pinch its edgeand move it to the left makingthe step folding along theexisting fold-lines. There will bea little tension and shifting, butonce you made the step fold,press the creases at the leftedge with your finger as shownin the next step

    Continue holding the creases onthe left, pinch the little triangularflap and move it slightly to theright, thereby returning it to thecenter and pulling out the left halfto release the paper tension.

The finished model will be measuring about 3.5 x 2.5 inches (9x 6.5 cm).However there is a possibility to fold this model using the Europeanstandard copy paper of A4 size, so in this case trim an A4 sheet to bea rectangle, 21 x 27 cm in size and use it to fold.
