OIL-GLO™ 44 is a fluorescent additive designed for the quick detection of even the hardest-to-find oil leaks. It can be used to find leaks in engines, hydraulic systems, lubrication systems, transmissions, transfer cases, differentials, PTO cases, etc. The additive acts as a tracer and, when used with a Spectroline ultraviolet lamp, enables the technician to immediately pin-point the exact source of every leak.
Directions for use
1. Add OIL-GLO™ 44 to the suspect system at a dilution ratio of 1:1000.
2. Turn on the system and allow the additive to fully circulate with the host fluid.
3. To locate the leak(s) shine a Spectroline UV lamp on the suspect areas. A yellow/ green colour will be visible at the site of the leak and along the leakage path.
4. To check the suspect area, scan again with the Spectroline torch. After a repair has been made the leak site should be cleaned with dye cleaner/remover, to stop false detections being made. After running the system, check the site again with the Spectroline torch – No glow means that the leak has been successfully repaired.
Note: Fluorescent contrast can be heightened by shielding or dimming room light.
