• In PE lessons you have the opportunity to develop more than just your physical performance. In every sporting activity there needs to be

National Curriculum

School Sport Initiatives• National Curriculum: this sets out the minimum amount of PE

that a school has to teach (2 hours of PE From Ks1-KS-4)

» PESSCL: A government strategy aimed at getting 5-16 year olds to do at least 2 hours of sport every week.

A scheme used by PESSCL to achieve there goal is the School Sports Partnerships. This is where a group of schools led by a sports college work together to try and improve the opportunities for pupils to get involved in sport in extra curricular activities and competitions.

THE YOUTH SPORTS TRUST

• Key national agency (Charity) supporting the promotion and development of sporting activity in school children

• Its mission is to work with other organisations in order to develop and implement quality PE/sports programmes for children and young people
