This week is Easter Week, and it is one of my favorite weeks of the year. I love this week because it draws our attention to the message of the gospel (Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection) more than any other week. I know this holiday competes with bunnies, eggs, tulips, bonnets, and seersucker, but the essence of Easter is the resurrection of Christ. Speaking of Easter, we have a busy Easter schedule here at First Bap-tist. Last weekend, we enjoyed two wonderful performances of “The Story: The Musical.” Let me give a huge thank you to the choir, ac-tors, media/tech, costumes/sets/props, and especially LuAnne. Every-one did a fantastic job, and it was a vivid display of the gospel. If you were here, you know what a soul-stirring blessing it was. But we’re not finished yet. This upcoming Friday is Good Friday, and we will be having a special service that evening at 6:30pm. I hope you will make plans to be here. I think it will be a meaningful addition to your Easter festivities. But we’re still not finished. On Sunday morning, we will have Sunday School and Worship at our regularly scheduled times. It’s going to be a great weekend celebrating the resurrection of our Lord and Savior. Even though I’ll be taking a break from our Foundations study this Sunday morning to preach on the resurrection, I want to encourage you to use this time to get caught up or read ahead. Whatever you do, don’t stop, because it will make starting again difficult. If you are on track with us, we are working through Week 16 in the reading plan. Like last week, all five days of this week’s plan will be in 1 Samuel. This week, you’ll be reading about the relationship between Saul and David. This upcoming Sunday, in the morning service, we will study 1 Corinthians 15 and discuss how the resurrection is essential to the gospel. We won’t have our regularly scheduled evening worship, so enjoy the afternoon with your family. Keep going in the reading plan and have a blessed week! In Christ, Jason

HUGE THANK YOU TO FBC BOONEVILLE. It has been hard. We have not had requisite funds in US account to make our monthly expense needs transfer; we have used up all of our “rainy” day funds here in coun-try; we have been from hand-to-mouth; we just sold five steers last week to make it through this week. We are still here. God is still good. We have made it through the 2nd term. We have a little Easter celebration on Thurs-day night and send the boys home for 3 weeks Easter break --we extended the break by an extra week for obvious reasons. We shall then be back at it on May 2. Again, God is still good and kind. Thank you. Bro. Frankie Wade Belize Vo-Tech

A Message from Carter’s Corner This week, in the life of our youth, is one of the busiest times in the life of a junior or senior. Thursday of this week will be prom for our students at Booneville High School. This, also, is a time that athletes in baseball and softball begin to wind down their seasons. We are thankful for our juniors and seniors as they represent God this week in prom and in their athletic events. Also, this is a busy week in the life of our church with the upcoming Good Friday service. We invite you and your family to come to both our Good Friday service and to our Sunday morning worship service on Easter Sunday. We are coming closer and closer to our 2017 Youth Choir Mission Trip to Seattle, WA. Our students are excited about the opportunity to serve in this city and to have opportunities to share the gospel with the people of Seattle! We ask that you pray for this trip that we will do God’s mission and what God has called us to do. Please pray for our students and adults that they may glorify God not just in Seattle, but also here in Booneville each day. Thank you for your continued prayers, support, and love! ▪Act Justly ▪Love Mercy ▪Walk Humbly

OUR GOAL: $10,000.00

Given-to-Date:

$7,335.00

Why Give to the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering? To help us reach our goal and to share Christ with international students at our universities. Pray for spiritual opportunities: 1.) with North American missionaries serving in universities and college towns 2.) for YOU. Each week, each month...do you come in contact with someone who is not a native Mississippian...a worker at a local hotel, restaurant, or other business...a neighbor? Pray for a relationship to grow between you and that person, so that you can have a conversa-tion about Jesus.
