WHAT EVERYONE WAS SEEING• The Falcon9 second stage was performing a ‘deorbit burn’ after deploying its

payloads, to drop safely out of orbit into open ocean.

• Because the stage’s engine was scaled to push it and its cargo into orbit, when it lit after its payloads and most propellant were gone, it was a high-G very brief pulse, several seconds at most, directed forward.

• The engine plume then ‘detaches’ and moves forward while expanding and thinning to invisibility

• The second stage also can perform propellant dumping both before and after the burn, through twin opposite-side ports, creating a much smaller ‘cloud’

• Visibility required both clear skies and a special rare solar illumination condition that only serendipitously provided ground viewers with a startling spectacle.

• SpaceX is not obligated to provide details of such maneuvers and rarely previews such burns, although warning messages about debris impact areas/times provides indirect advance notification.

• Opportunistic accidental observations can provide otherwise unobtainable insights into performance effectiveness of such maneuvers

The video at 00:52 contains very important information. If you use ‘Google Earth’ STREET-VIEW for the road that you were on, you can find the exact signs in front of you. Then you can go back to MAP-VIEW and get the exact compass azimuth of that line-of-sight. Together with your exact location, this can determine the position of the object, because its path cross the ground is already known.

In recent years I’ve collected an amazing range of analogies and metaphors from witnesses trying to relate the appearance of a space rocket plume to some familiar earthly item. Aside from the spirals and spheres and other highly unusual forms, the descriptions of simple exoatmospheric plumes has inspired analogies to headlights, to parachutes, to ice cream cones, but never before this France overflight had I ever heard a witness compare it to a slice of Camembert cheese. But the French being French, I should not have been surprised. Maispourquoi pas!?

• On November 11, around 17 pm, many witnesses saw a strange luminous object in the twilight. It was actually the last stage of the Falcon 9 Rocket (Spacex) that had taken off at 15 h56 from Cape Canaveral, Florida to put 60 satellites of the constellation starlink. Pas le temps de mettre au point avec mon pauvre smartphone, juste une photo et une vidéo de 7 secondes floues, le tout en zoom optique + numérique maximum, dommage. Mais quelle surprise...

“Tales From Out There” == Witness states: "I was with my wife, just getting out of a shop, to enter in our car, when my eye was attracted by a glowing star, the night was clear in that direction, and the light was strange : a bright point projecting two large beams, like a car in the distance , those beams seem to encounter a particularyfoggy atmosphere, so the beam disappear/is stopped at a certain distance. the object is flying at a speed that can confound with a jet liner, at middle altitude. as we are close to the geneva airport ( 30 miles) , i first thought it could be a plane just airborne ( i use to fly from this airport, and the path when flying to the south is almsot the same ) or circling ... but the lights were really weird , so i told my wife to look and i took y smartphone ( samsung galaxy s8) to take a video . i could film it for about 35 seconds, and then it reached a cloud barrier, i could see the lights glowing through the clouds, for a few seconds and then it was no more viewable . i forgot it , until midnight whne a friend text me that a news paper : le progres ( from the city of lyon) published that some poeple reported the same observation over lyon and grenoble, i was surprised , because , the object semeed to be at least one mile over my place , and as it was glowing through the clounds, that confimed me , it was flying at a quite low altitude . the other sightings beeing at the same moment and 70 miles from my place . the news paper added that satellites were just launched an hour before , but it does not seem to be a satellite."

• As usual, SpaceX gave no advance warning on possible observation opportunities worldwide [weather dependent] for post-launch FALCON9 propulsive events. It is under NO obligation to do so.

• As has become normal, hundreds of people with imaging tools captured some or all of the deorbit burn, in highly varying quality.

• Many reports included highly interesting and credible visual observations, especially about fine linear features accompanying the main ‘cloud’ and trailing dot [the second stage] which did not show up in still and video recordings.

It's not about photos of Saint-Loup, but above the pic.

Tonight, at 17 p. M while I was taking pictures of my garden at nightfall, my look was attracted to a bright task in the sky. A plane that had to cross a foggy area because its lights caused a halo in front of it. But at the same time, a light bar was progressing at the same speed, but its orientation seemed to change constantly. This is well visible on the photos.

The Photos were made between the 1/250th and 1/1000th of a second, which can't explain the dotted of the light bar.

Since I had a 105 mm focal point I couldn't get the object very much, I had to crop the image.

For the record, an aircraft passed immediately after on the same trajectory that shows that they were not on the same altitude.

Anyway, I have no idea what it can be, if a specialist can enlighten us?

I allow myself to post the question here, because a few years ago, I asked such a question for an event above Aigoual, and a specialist had identified the subject.

Un témoignage de la vue de ce même objet dans le Gard que vous avez posté sur internet concorde parfaitement avec ce que nous avons vu, à quelques détails près, à Taulignan dans la Drôme.Le temps était très calme, sans vent et le ciel bleu parfaitement dégagé sans nuage et encore éclairé (jour).

L'objet perçu par nous 4 empruntait un trajet (se déplaçait) de l'ouest vers l'est. Nous avons observé ce déplacement durant environ 1 minute.

- aspect : petit nuage vaporeux blanchâtre (le seul) de forme ronde/ovale avec deux fines pointes de vapeur (?) à l'extrémité ouest “boule” vaporeuse avec deux fins traits à l'arrière). Présence sur l'une des bordures de ce “nuage” d'une rampe lumineuse longitudinale, en forme de tube selon un ami témoin. Nous avons aussi entraperçu une masse grisâtre (un fin trait métallique aspect mercure/plomb lié à cette rampe lumineuse) qui émergeait juste en bordure de ce petit “nuage”. Et, aussi, une petite étoile très lumineuse légèrement distante du nuage et qui se déplaçait à la même vitesse.

- phénomène très étrange : aucun vent, aucun nuage, aucun bruit; déplacement à allure constante de ces éléments ensemble. L'objet m'a semblé être à basse altitude.

Cet objet ne nous semble pas connu et identifiable (ce n'est pas un avion en tous cas) .

- appearance: a small, whitish vapor cloud (the only one) of round / oval shape with two fine spikes of vapor (?) at the wispy western end "ball" with two fine lines at the back). Presence on one of the borders of this "cloud" of a longitudinal luminous ramp, tube-shaped according to a friend witness. We also noticed a greyish mass (a thin mercury / lead aspect linked to this luminous ramp) that emerged just outside this little "cloud". And, also, a very luminous little star slightly distant from the cloud and moving at the same speed.- very strange phenomenon: no wind, no cloud, no noise; Constantly moving these elements together. The object seemed to be low.This object does not seem known and identifiable (it is not an airplane in any case).

• "Merci à vous pour la réponse. Je ne crois pas qu'il s'agisse d'une fusée : trajet horizontal linéaire et assez lent (moins qu'un avion de chasse par ex.). A moins que la distance ait été très importante en altitude? (on distinguait bien deux pointes triangulaires à l'arrière et un ami évoque (a perçu) la forme du genre "trilobite" (fossile). Par ailleurs, la présence d'une nébulosité (sorte de nuage ovoïde) et l'absence de traînée à l'arrière + bande lumineuse et "étoile" forme un groupe d'objets très étrange. • Cette affaire d'ovni spectaculaire, vu et filmé notamment en France le 11 novembre 2019 à 18 heures, fait couler beaucoup d'encre... Pour la version dite "conventionnelle", il s'agirait d'une fusée qui a lancé plusieurs satellites. Cependant dans les témoignages reçus, des témoins doutent de cette "explication".

• Pour Goudargues, Gard, le témoin me dit par email : "Une fusée non pas du tout je suis ancien combattant je sais faire la différence entre un avion,une fusé,une lanterne,un hélico,un ballon météorologiques etc.. L'image de la vidéo à la fin avec le bruit, on dirait plutôt la vitesse de vol d'un hélicoptère qui transporte quelque chose dessous. Surtout quand on voit la petite lumière au-dessus.

• 17H50 c est tout juste l heure du deuxieme passage au dessus de la France du second etage de la F9 de la mission Starlink de SpaceX. J ai egalement vu cette objet, sa trajectoire etait parfaitement rectiligne et sa vitesse constante. Sa trajectoire correspond egalement a se que SpaceX avais annoncer. Andrasta == Lorsque je l'ai vu, il était plus à l'horizontal que sur cette vidéo. Malheureusement je n'avais pas mon téléphone avec moi. On voyait clairement un objet blanc ou très clair, aucune fumée à l'arrière qui aurait montré une propulsion. Il y avait comme un nuage lumineux à l'avant, triangulaire. On l'a vu de l'ouest vers l'est. Il a disparu de nos yeux au sud. Comme une espèce de petit nuage blanc rond... Si c'était vraiment si loin que ça, et ça doit l'être pour être vu en même temps à des milliers de km, cet étage doit être particulierementénorme. Car je ne vois pas un objet de 100m de diamètre à 100km de moi... Les avions on ne voit que leur lumière (en encore) lorsqu'ils sont haut. Cet objet n'était soit pas très loin, soit vraiment énorme. De plus, l'étage à son retour n'a pas de propulseur ? Car à part un faisceau à l'avant, il n'y avait rien du tout à l'arrière.

• CAROLE Carole == Andrasta j'en ai vu un en pleine après midi, dans des champs, et il passait devant ma voiture etc, j'étais avec mon fils ainé et ma fille ainée, et ils étaient complétement hermétiques à c=ça, mais je peux garantir que le matériau de quoi ils sont faits est très étrange, rien de fabrication humaine, et il g=changeait de formes en continu, a même eu des pics comme un hérisson à un moment donné, il était à quelques trentaine de mètres de nous, et faisiat à peine 3 mètres de diamètre, à un moment, il est m^medevenu juste un trait très long dans le ciel, très près du sol etc. On était 3 voitures à le suivre, j'ai des photos et des vidéos mais rien à voir avec ce qu'on voyait de nos yeux. Depuis nous ne pouvons qu'en constater l'existence.
