Why Production/Operations Management? A major in operations management prepares students to manage the processes to produce and distribute products and services. Operations managers are concerned with many different areas including product creation and development, purchasing, plant organization, production efficiency, quality control, and inventory management. Operations management majors find employment opportunities in both manufacturing and non-manufacturing industries. Possible job titles include: Demand Analyst, Supplier Relationship Manager, Senior Buyer, and Project Manager
