applications for SAP HANA.

It enables technical users to manage the SAPHANA database, to create and manage userauthorizations, and to create new or modifyexisting models of data in the SAP HANAdatabase.

Allows you to add and manage systems and system groups. You can add systems one at a time or import many systems in a batch.

The Launch Alert Monitortile tells you how

many total high priority (HP) and mediumpriority (MP) alerts have been reported.

On theAlert Monitorscreen, you see a list ofsystems on the left that shows how manyalerts each one has.

For HANA systems, the drill down opens theHANA cockpitAlert app for further analysis ofthe displayed alerts.

The relationship between the monitored andother systems in your landscape can beanalyzed and how they are affected, if themonitored system has an issue.

Start & Stop Systems

The Start & Stop Systems tile tells you if anysystems are stopped.

On the Start & Stop Systems screen, you cansee a list of systems that shows the state ofeach one (running, shutting down, stopped, orunknown).

If the list is long, focus on systems of interestby clicking Running Systems orStoppedSystems at the top of the screen, or use the

search and filter tools. SAP DCC starts and stops systems using the

SAP host agent, which is included in a typicalinstallation. If the agent is missing, you cannotstart or stop the system from SAP DCC.

Overview

Offline Administration and Diagnosis

The SAP HANA cockpit for offline administration is aversion of the SAP HANA cockpit that communicateswith SAP HANA using SAP Host Agent.

You can use it to perform administration tasks, suchas starting the system or troubleshooting a systemexperiencing performance problems, as operatingsystem user adm.

Content is displayed as tiles that function as entrypoints to individual applications.

However, there are no groups or tile catalogs, and itis not possible to modify the content or thehomepage.

Start/Restart/Stop System

Start/Restart/Stop

The tile indicates the systemstatus: Initializing, Running,Stopping, or Stopped.

It opens the System Operations appwhere you can start, restart, and stop thesystem.

In a system with multitenant databasecontainers, all tenant databases will bestarted/restarted/stopped.

While the system isstarting/restarting/stopping, the status ofthe individual services can be monitored inthe System Operations app.

Diagnosis Files

Log and Trace Files

The Diagnosis Files tile opensthe Diagnosis Files app whereyou can access log and tracefiles, as well as a mixture of otherdiagnosis, error, and information files.

To diagnose and analyze errors while SAPHANA is stopped or cannot be reacheddue to performance problems, you cancheck these diagnosis files for errors.

Troubleshoot

Unresponsive System When a system cannot be

reached by SQL or is experiencingperformance problems, you or an SAPsupport engineer can access diagnosisinformation and perform emergencyoperations to resolve the situation.

When you click on the TroubleshootUnresponsive System tile, the systemdisplays information about all connections,transactions, blocked transactions, andthreads in the system.

If necessary, you can cancel individualconnections and transactions, or evencancel all transactions.

Monitoring view M_EXECUTED_STATEMENTS records all DDL statements (e.g. table split/move) by dusing parameter enable_ddl in global.ini, section executed_statements).

Statements are traced in memory, and flushed in regular intervals to a file.

The file size and flush interval are configurable as well as the max. number of trace files (parameters mtrace_flush_internal).
