SUPPORT FOR REVITALIZATIONS OF WATER FLOWS AND WATER RESERVOIRES FROM THE OPERATIONAL PROGRAMME ENVIRONMENT
OPERATIONAL PROGRAMME ENVIRONMENT
is the second largest Czech operational programe (between 2007–2013)
main goal is to protect and improve environmental quality throughout the Czech Republic
resources:−EUR 5 billion from the Cohesion Fund and the
European Regional Development Fund−EUR 300 million from the National
Environmental Fund of the Czech Republic and the state budget
WHO MAY APPLY FOR GRANTS
municipalities and towns governmental bodies non-governmental bodies research and scientific institutes citizens grant application can be only submitted
during announced calls for each given areaof intervention
AMOUNT OF SUPPORT
grants can represent as much as 90%of a project’s total eligible expenses
all projects are required to have publicco-financing
beneficiaries may draw financial assistance throughout the project’s implementation based on unpaid invoices issued by suppliers

1.3 Reduction of Flood Risks
1.3.1 Enhancement of flood service systems: construction and modernization of flood warning and service systems include measuring stations, support for elaboration of flood plans and maps and support for elaboration of basis for flood-prevention measures
1.3.2 Improvement of water flows and creation of retention spaces in inhabited areas, construction of polders with improvement of water flows in flooded area
6. Improving the State of Nature and the Landscape
To eliminate or mitigate the decrease in biodiversity, to protect endangered plant and animal species, to provide ecological stability of the landscape and to form and preserve natural elements in settled areas.

6.4 Enhancement of the water regime of landscape
1.Competence – divided between Ministry of Agriculture (custody of water flows) and Ministry of Environment
2.Ownership – preparation of projects for revitalization of water flows is long and complicated process
