OPERATION VET FIT RECEIVES DONATION THROUGH GRUELING ENDURANCE CHALLENGE Bethel CT – May 18 th , 2015: Bethel based veterans charity, Operation Vet Fit members raise over $1,200 to assist in supporting its mission while also helping another worthy veterans charity. On May 2 nd , 2015 Operation Vet Fit supporter, Kristina Braun and Bethel native, Dan Korin a US Navy Afghanistan Veteran set out to push their physical fitness and endurance limits by participating in and completing the North Face Endurance Challenge. “Veni, Vidi, Vici” was the outcome for both of them as they tore up the rugged full marathon distance, 26.2 mile, off road endurance challenge course. While also raising over $1,200 for their favorite veterans charities, Operation Vet Fit and Help our Military Heroes. Dan and Kristina are no strangers to intense, high endurance, high physical demand extreme sporting events. In fact, that is how they both met. In 2012 both Dan and Kristina found themselves participating in events for both organizations. But it was during the April 2013 American Odyssey Relay where the two of them were teamed up to conquer the 194.9 mile relay event from Gettysburg

Today the two extreme athletes continue to help veterans through physical fitness based activities while also donating their time and resources for other charitable events including, but not limited to both food and toy drives for the less fortunate. The funds raised by Dan and Kristina will be used this weekend by Operation Vet Fit to cover cost associated with its annual Lime Rock Park, Memorial Day, combat veterans camping and race weekend where multiple combat veterans will be treated to an all expense paid excursion. This years event will host two Purple Heart Recipients, and other combat veterans representing operations in Vietnam, Bosnia, Somalia, Haiti, Iraq and Afghanistan. Contact: Daniel R.
