Installation

UnpackingUnpacking Although your pMU-240nA/600nA is neither complicated nor difficult to operate, we recommend you take afew minutes to read this brief manual and familiarize yourself with the important information regarding productfeatures, setup and operation.

As with most electronic devices, we strongly recommend you retain the original packaging. In the unlikely eventthe product must be returned for servicing, the original packaging (or reasonable equivalent) is required.

InstallationEnvironmentnever place this product in an environment which could alter its performance or reduce its service life. Suchenvironments usually include high levels of heat, dust, moisture, and vibration.

1. 4.3” TOUCH LCDlCD display provides you system monitoring and easy setup for lCD display operation, please check:Operation chapter on manual > lCD display setup.

2. INPUT SOURCE VOLUME CONTROL AND LED DISPLAYprovides input source volume control with 6-band equalization knobs. Turning the control to the rightamplifies (boosts) the audio volume. for moving to setup mode, press volume control.

3. TONE VOLUMEfor adjusting the BASS(100Hz), and TreBle(10kHz) audio frequencies. 4. OUTPUT LEVEL METER INDICATORThis uses leD indicators to show audio signal level with 4 status.

6. PROTECTION AND LED INDICATORfor protecting circuit against overloaded audio input, leD show protecting system operating status. Whenthere is overload signal form input, the system will cut off the speaker signal.

8. SPEAKER OUTPUT ZONE SELECT BUTTON AND LED INDICATOR SELECTpress the button (SWITCHeD 1~5 ) corresponding to the speaker zone. Individual pressing button isavailable and All button provides activation all speaker zone in the same time. When this switch is On, itlights up to indicate its output status.

SPEAKER OUTPUT (SPEAKER OUTPUT) CONNECTORUse commercially available speaker cables to connect the speakers corresponding speaker zone speakerselect switch on the front panel. provides UnSWITCHeD/lo-Z connector which provides audio signal outputall the times. Check the rated impedance below for preventing overload condition.

※ Caution: connected speaker’s total impedance should not be greater than rated impedance cable on thetable.

※ A audio cable can be terminated as the picture below.

※ Caution: In case of using ATTenUATOr, Total impedance with all speaker output with SWITCHeD 5connector should be not greater than 200Ω.

4. MIX OUT OUTPUT CONNECTORThis audio output connector will allow you to send your audio mix source to auxiliary audio device. You canuse this audio output for sub-woofer speaker through lpf(low pass filter) setup.※ for the cable termination, see the find the picture below.

5. CONTACT 1, 2, 3, 4 CONNECTORThis is terminal for contact closure input source. You can setup connector(1~4)’s operation logic via Contactmode page. See the table below to find logic control option.

6. VCA (VOLTAGE-CONTROLLED AMPLIFIER) CONNECTORThis auxiliary audio volume controller will allow you to control audio output volume with master volume.※ 10kΩ, B curve volume controller is recommended. See the picture below.

7. TEL IN INPUT CONNECTORThis is a input connector for telephone switcher, this function will allow you to send announce to public viaconnected phone.

10. PC AUDIO CONNECTORThis is USB B-TYpe connector for user’s pC. You can receive the audio signal through user pC.※ This USB connector support USB 1.1/2.0 only.

11. NETWORK CONNECTION CONNECTOR(RJ-45)This is network connection connector which supports 10/100Mbps. User can access webpage with audiostreaming. It supports Auto MDIx. network interface card will be recognized with direct or crossover cable both.

13. PHANTOM POWER ON/OFF SWITCH (INPUT 1 ~ 2)This is switch for +24V phantom power’s On/Off. It is located in InpUT 1, 2.Turn the phantom power on for your microphone and Turn off the phantom power on for your microphone.

By pressing UnlOCK on upper left lCD screen. licking function is activated and lCD touching is not able.By pressing lOCK on the same screen. The log in and password window will be popped up ※ In lock mode of lCD touching, touch function will be not activated.

your commend.- If you touch the I rADIO lIST on the screen, the displays will show the list of saved stations as shown below※ The song title may not be displayed on the list depending on the Url server’s platform.※ This I rADIO may do abnormal playback depending on the server Url circumstances. - When you touch the stations in the list, the station address will be displayed in the Url at the bottom oftouch screen and touch a COnneCT on the upper right side on the screen, the selected station will beconnected, and then the screen will return to I rADIO page.

- Touch QUIT and then screen will return to the I rADIO screen without connecting to the stations.- To add radio stations, access the web page and select setup session.

2) AOe STreAM

- In main screen, press , and then AOe STreAM page will be displayed.- The AOe STreAM page shows the AOe-212n Ip address, sample rate, port information of the currently

connected.- If you touch COnneCT or DISCOnneCT, and then AOe STreAM will begin or stop the streaming based

on your commend.- In reMOTe COnTACT button, If you touch the blank to the right side of information bar, and then you can

- Touch the Server list and then the AOe-212n’s stored in server list will show up.

- In main display, touch and then USB memory page will be displayed.- Information of playing file (album cover, title, duration, total file number) is displayed on the screen. - You can play by touching the icon below to play a music file contained in the USB.

- By touching each Icon, you can sub menu on the setup mode.

① VOl

- By touching VOl on the Setup page, you can control input volume1~6 and master volume and monitorsound control position. Adjusting input volume on the front panel, you can see the value changing onvolume level.※ Input volume is not touchable. You can control the volume through volume control through the front panel.

- Volume will be displayed from 0 to 100.- Touch the Mute button on upper right for muting speaker output.- On VOl setup display 1, press input volume 3~6 button to access to move VOl setup display.

- VOl setup 2 has USB, AUx, pC AUDIO, neT-WOrK input volume and master volume. Use inputvolume3~6 on the front panel to adjust volume level.※ input volume on VOl setup 2 is not touchable. You can adjust volume level through volume 3~6 on the

front panel.※ neT-WOrK volume on VOl setup page is the I rADIO volume control for the AOe STreAM.

② eQ

- On SeTUp display, press eQ button, touch input volume 1~2 as the VOl setup 1 shows up or touch inputvolume 3~6 as the VOl setup 2 shows up and then you access the eQ setup display.

- On the eQ setup display, you can monitor the current value of 6 BAnD eQ, TOne, and volume status. Youcan adjust not only 6 BAnD eQ, but also BASS, TreBle for the detail sound control.

- 6 BAnD eQ: 125Hz, 400Hz, 1kHz, 3.1kHz, 8kHz, 12.5kHzTOne : BASS - 100Hz, TreBle : -10kHz

- Volume have value range from -10 to +10.- By adjusting input volume1~6 and TOne volume on the front panel, you can monitor the changing value

of frequency band volume on the screen.※ each frequency BAnD’s volume value is not changed by touching on the screen. Use volume 1~6 and

TOne volume on the front panel.

Bypass audio signal without eQ processing.

You can call a eQ preset from the eQ BAnD library. See the picture below.

- By touching preSeT on the eQ setup screen, you can access eQ preset page and choose a preset for theaudio volume channel.

- By CHIMe icon on SeTUp display, you can access CHIMe setup display.- Based on the user’s purpose, user can setup starting chime and ending chime.

Staring chime : 2 TOne, Up 4 TOne ending chime : none, DOWn 4 TOne

- press the CHIMe button on the front panel for activating the starting chime.- When you setup the ending chime as DOWn 4 TOne, CHIMe leD will flash as the starting chime is

finished. press the CHIMe button again for activating the ending chime. If you setup the ending chime asnOn. The Starting Chime is activated only.

④ prIOrITY

- By touching prIOrITY on SeTUp page, you can access prIOrITY setup display.- Three different type 3 of prIOrITY setup are available. The priority hierarchy are as follows:

priority: TOp prIOrITY > 2nd prIOrITY > nO prIOrITY- By press reSeT button on upper left, you can reset all current priority setup.

- By touching AMp button on the SeTUp display, you can access the AMp MODe setup display.- Type of Mode

100V: rated output mode at 100V70V: rated output mode at 70Vlow-Z: you can use low impedance speaker in this mode.

- By touching 100V or 70V button, all speaker connector on the rear panel are adjusted as High-Z speakeroutput. And by touching low-Z, , all speaker connector on the rear panel are adjusted asUnSWITCHeD/lo-Z connector, you can use low-Z speaker for your system.※ When you choose low-Z mode, you cannot use SWITCHeD 1~5 connector.

- When you select mode, warning message will pop up to ensure your decision.- By touching button, your mode setup will be completed. When you touch button, you mode

setup will be cancelled.※ Before changing AMp mode, separate rear speaker connector on the rear panel first!. After changing

• leVel DeTeCT setup

- When touching leVel DeTeCT on DSp setup screen, setup screen of leVel DeTeCT will be displayed asabove. When a signal, higher than the lever user setup, inputs, pMU-nA detects it and audio outputchanges according to the priority setup.

- Touch the scroll bar to setup from -50dB to-20dB.- Move to another channel page by touching above right.

- When touching H.p.f on DSp setup page, the HIgH pASS fIlTer setup page will be displayed. It blocks thesignal below the user setup frequency.

- Touch the scroll bar to setup from 20Hz to 400Hz.※ In case of audio input1, 2, you can use from TrIM volume MIn: 20Hz to 400Hz.

•DUCKIng releASe TIMe setup

- When touching DUCKIng releASe TIMe on DSp setup page, DUCKIng releASe TIMe setup page isdisplayed as above. It decides the time that connects to the original broadcasting when broadcasting witha high priority disconnects.

- Touch the scroll bar to setup from 1ms to 10000ms.

•MIx-OUT setup

- Touch MIx-OUT on DSp setup screen and it will display the MIx-OUT setup screen as above. You can setup the backside MIx OUT connector’s lOW pASS fIlTer and volume. enABle : when touching the blank on the right, lOW pASS fIlTer function becomes activated. freQUenCY : blocks the signal that is higher than the setup frequency, and it can setup from 20Hz to400Hz.VOlUMe: volume that controls MIx OUT output signal, and is able to setup from 0 to 100.

• lIMITer setup

- When touching lIMITer on DSp setup screen, it displays the lIMITer setup screen as above. SetupTHreSHOlD, ATTACK TIMe, DeCAY TIMe to avoid over-input coming through the internal AMp. THreSHOlD: blocks higher signal than setup level input coming through internal AMp. It is able to setup -4dB to 44dB.ATTACK TIMe : it decides the time that the over-input signal arrives from THreSHOlD to the setup level. Itis able to setup from 1ms to 20ms. DeCAY TIMe : THreSHOlD’s setup level, which decides the time that the compressed signal turns into theoriginal signal. It is able to setup from 100ms to 2000ms.

- You can choose among: -12dB, -18dB, -24dB, MUTe ※ It you turn broadcasting while MUTe, the original signal turns mute and the transformed signal outputs

only.

⑧ COnTACT

- When touching COnTACT on SeTUp screen, it displays COnTACT setup screen as above. Using backsideCOnTACT 1-4 connector to input contact closer, then you can select the device’s action. external MUTe: when contact closer inputs, speaker output mutes. CHIMe: when contact closer inputs, CHIMe broadcasts. prI: when contact closer inputs, the audio signal that inputs through backside exT In connector broadcastson first priority, and MASTer volume setups at 100. While contact closer is activated MASTer volumecannot be controlled. ※ When even one of COnTACT 1~4 prI is selected, exT In input doesn’t broadcast either through priority

setup or gpI setup.gpI: when contact closer inputs, you cannot do macro broadcasting. ※ The basic setup for COnTACT 1~4 is prI.

● START

1) Connect various source that the user wants, to the device. 2) Connect speaker to the speaker output connector on the backside.

⇒ note Operation > speaker connection description. 3) When connecting AC code to the device, InTerM logo will be displayed ton lCD and the device starts booting. 4) When booting is finished, power signal leD turns orange and the device turn to STAnD BY state. 5) now press the power switch, the device starts activating and power signal leD turns green. 6) On lCD start up screen as below will show, user can touch to select the wanted menu.

7) After the device is turned on, open the front cover and the lCD volume control screen will showautomatically.

⇒ When doing no volume control for some time, it goes back to the prior screen. 8) Select the broadcasting speaker channel. (press All switch to On/Off all speaker output.) 9) While checking speaker output, control various input control volume and master volume properly. 10) Broadcasting priority, chime, contact close action, etc. Whatever function user is looking for, use it through

lDC or webpage.

● STAND BY, WAKE UP

1) STAnD BY: When pressing power switch while operation mode or there is no audio input for about 15minutes, the device shuts down on to STAnD BY mode. pOWer leD turns from green to orange and thescreen displays time as below.

2) WAKe Up : While the device is on STAnD BY mode and prI contact closer inputs, the device automaticallyturns to activation mode and prI broadcasting starts.

3) When there is no display operation for about 5 minutes, screen brightness lowers 50%. 4) When there is no display operation for about 10 minutes, screen shuts down.

● AOE STREAM operation

1) As below, connect AOe-212n, pMU-nA, user pC to network web.

2) from the user pC, log in to AOe-212n server, then set up the Ip address to start AOe server. ⇒ for more information about setup, note AOe-212n manual.

3) After this, log in to pMU-nA webpage and add the server address of the using AOe-212n. ⇒ for more information about setup, note the provided webpage manual.

2) Start the audio server and contact closer of AOe-212n that you are going to use, and connect the sourcedevice to audio input connector of AOe-212n.⇒ for more information about setup, note AOe-212n manual.

3) Touch reMOTe COnTACT on AOe STreAM setup page to revitalize contact closer control function.

4) Then log in to pMU-nA webpage to add the using server address of AOe-212n.⇒ for more information about setup, note the provided webpage manual.

5) Select the using AOe-212n from the server list. 6) On the control switch connected to AOe-212n. 7) When the contact closer is revitalized, AOe STreAM (output the audio signal of the source device connected

to AOe-212n through the speaker connected to pMU-nA) will be broadcasted and the MASTer volume isset up to 100. While contact closer is revitalized, MASTer volume cannot be controlled.

8) When Off the Control switch and contact closer becomes inactive, AOe STreAM stops. 9) The same way as number 1), through AOe-212n contact closers’ input channel 1-5, you can individually

On/Off the pMU-nA ZOne 1~5. ※ for the selected function, AOe should be selected as first priority in the setup.※ When AOe STreAM connection is cleared, speaker channel goes back to the prior condition.

● I RADIO operation

1) Connect pMU-nA to the network connected to external private network.2) from the user pC that is connected to the same network, log in to pMU-nA webpage and add the selected

radio broadcasting Url. ⇒ for more information about setup, note the webpage manual registered on the website.

● How to connect PC AUDIO

1) When connecting the included USB CABle to the user pC, pMU-nA will be recognized as audio playbacksystem. (You do not need an additional driver, pC automatically recognizes the playback system.)

2) If worked normally, USB Audio DAC is played out under sound, video and game controllers.

5) If worked normally, you will see that it is connected on the STATUS page. If not connected normally, it willplay out disconnection.

6) If connected normally, the sound source played in pC will output through the speaker connected to pMU-nA.

● PRIORITY setup

1) Operation > note STArT and set up pMU-nA. 2) According to the examples below, set up the priorities of input sources.

3) Touch on the lCD main screen in the order of, SeTUp > prIOrITY > TOp prIOrITY

4) Select an input source to put first priority. If you choose according to the example, then select in the order ofTel In, CH1, CH2, then touch SAVe. When set up is completed, it goes back to the prior page.

5) You can select multiple sources at one time. The audio inputs that are set up for the same prIOrITY, aremixed when output.

6) Select an input source to put second priority. Select USB, CHIMe, exT In, then touch SAVe.

7) After setting up until second priority, when touching , you will be able to see that the rest ofthe input sources are setup as nO prIOrITY. Input sources not selected as first and second priorities areautomatically selected as nO prIOrITY.

8) After done with prIOrITY setup, touch main page > setup > DSp.

1) After disconnecting power code from the power outlet, connect the using speaker to the speaker connector atthe backside panel as below.

2) Minimize master volume, and start the device. 3) Connect speaker accordingly to the AMp mode that is setup in pMU-nA. ※ for more information about setup, note lCD main page > 5) SeTUp > ⑥ AMp description.

4) Use front speaker select switch to select speaker output region. 5) Use front volume to rightly control broadcasting volume.

- If using High-Z speaker

- If using low-Z speaker

※ If using High-Z speaker, setup AMp mode to 100V(or 70V).※ If using High-Z speaker, you can use both SWITCHeD connector and UnSWITCHeD/lo-Z connector,

in this case, be cautious to not connect low-Z speaker to UnSWITCHeD/lo-Z connector.

※ If using low-Z speaker, make sure you setup the AMp mode to low-Z. ※ If using low-Z speaker, only connect speaker to UnSWITCHeD/lo-Z connector, and you can’t use

SWITCHeD connector. (regardless of any speaker select switch, UnSWITCHeD/lo-Z connectoralways output.)
