mass destruction UN didn’t find any of these weapons US produced evidence that Saddam
Hussein was moving the weapons to different areas in Iraq

TIMELINE CONTD. DECEMBER 14, 2003: Saddam is captured JUNE 28, 2004: US transfers sovereignty to Iraq. OCTOBER 7, 2004: Deulfer Report: Iraq did not
have WMD (weapons of mass destruction) JANUARY 12, 2005: search in Iraq is declared
over JANUARY 20, 2005: Iraqis vote to form a
Transitional National Assembly OCTOBER 15, 2005:Iraqis vote to ratify draft
constitution.

APRIL 21, 2006: Jawad al-Maliki (Shiite) is chosen as prime minister
NOVEMBER 5, 2006: Saddam sentenced to death by hanging for crimes against humanity (1982 killing of 148 Shiites in the city of Dujail.)
DECEMBER 30, 2006: Saddam executed.

1991 US joined other nations in a coalition to push Iraqis out of Kuwait.
