USE ONLY WITH ADEQUATE VENTILATION OR PROPER RESPIRATORY EQUIPMENT. FROTH-PAK™ Foam contains isocyanate, hydrofluorocarbon blowing agent and polyol. Do not breathe vapors or spray. Supplied air or an approved air-purifying respirator equipped with an organic vapor sorbent and particle filter may be required to maintain exposure levels below ACGIH, OSHA, WEEL or other applicable limits. For situations where the atmospheric levels may exceed the level for which an air-purifying respirator is effective, use a positive-pressure air-supplying respirator (air line or self contained breathing apparatus). FROTH-PAK Foam will adhere to most surfaces and skin. Do not get foam on skin. Wear gloves, and goggles or safety glasses, and protective clothing. Cured foam must be mechanically removed or allowed to wear off in time. The contents are under pressure. GETTING THE KIT READY 1) For users of FROTH-PAK Foam (7 1/2 inch diameter cylinder kits): The INSTA-FLO Dispenser/Hose Assembly is connected to the chemical tanks. Lift the INSTA-FLO Dispenser/Hose Assembly from the box and fully uncoil hose. 2) Free the perforated section in upper section of the box (near the locking tab that retained the lid), and bend it down to allow the hoses to enter into the two cutouts provided. 3) Apply a coating of petroleum jelly to the inside face of the INSTA-FLO™ Dispenser. This makes cleaning of the dispenser face much easier and extends the effective life of the INSTA-FLO Dispenser. 4) For users of FROTH-PAK Foam (12 inch diameter cylinder kits): Using the wrench provided in the Gun / Hose Assembly Kit, tighten the hose assemblies for both “A” and “B” valves until both are tight. The wrench is intentionally designed to warp or bend if excessive pressure is applied. Apply a coating of petroleum jelly to the inside face of the INSTA-FLO Dispenser. 5) Rock kit for 30 seconds before opening valves. Turn the tank valves on fully, noting the initial movement of chemical through the clear hoses as a confirmation of flow. 6) Purge the system into a waste container by activating the trigger of the INSTA-FLO Dispenser. When streams are equal, release the trigger, clean the chemical from the dispenser face with a clean rag, and reapply petroleum jelly. 7) Select an Anti-Crossover Nozzle and insert firmly into the front of the INSTA-FLO™ Dispenser. Be sure the dispenser clips the nozzle firmly in place. USING THE KIT Replace nozzle when nozzle has not been used for more than 30 seconds. Nozzle is removed by firmly depressing the yellow ejector located on the top of the INSTA-FLO Dispenser. Before applying foam, make a small test shot into waste container to verify foam quality. 1) Hold the INSTA-FLO Dispenser about 6" – 24" (15 cm – 60 cm) away from the area you intend to spray. Apply foam by squeezing trigger. Note yellow safety on the trigger must be depressed first, unlocking trigger. Move the INSTA-FLO Dispenser with a steady back and forth motion when dispensing foam. 2) Foam will expand and will be tack free within 60 seconds (3 –4 minutes for slow rise formulas), and is fully cured in five minutes. It is recommended that foam be applied in layers of 2" or less in any single application layer. Note: If the foam is to be injected into a hidden cavity, a test shot is recommended prior to each injection. TEMPERATURE The temperature indicator — not available on 12 inch diameter cylinder kits — on the side of the tank shows the temperature of the contents of the tank, not ambient air temperature. For best results the tank contents should be at 75° F (24° C) or warmer. FROTH-PAK Foam can be applied effectively in cold air temperatures or on cool work surfaces (above freezing and less than 75% relative humidity) provided the kit contents are at least 75° F (24° C).

Thecuredfoamandtheemptycylindersmaybedisposedofasanon-hazardouswastein accordancewithstateandlocalregulations.Landfillingmayhavespecialrequirements dependingonlocalregulations.Theseregulationsshouldbereviewedtoinsurecompliance.Donotdisposeofpressurizedtanks.
TROUBLESHOOTING
If your spray pattern becomes noticeably different (i.e. cone spray changes to stream):Thismaybecausedbydispensingfoamwithausednozzle.Always inspectanozzlepriortodispensingtomake sureyouhaveanunusednozzlemountedin theINSTA-FLO™Dispenser.
If the foam or spray pattern does not react properly:Replacingthenozzlewill usuallycorrecttheproblem.Iftheproblem persistsandfoamisfriable or brittle,thefoamis"ISO"rich,andapartialblockageofthe"POLYOL"sideexists.If foam remains soft or mushy,thefoamis"POLYOL"richandapartialblockageofthe"ISO"sideexists.Iffoamstartstobecomeliquid,thenthereisatotalblockageofoneside.Removethenozzleandcarefullyactivatethedispenserintoawastecontainer.Twochemicalstreamsofapproximatelyequalvolumeshouldflow.Ifstreamsareunequal,ablockagehasoccurred.Shutoffthetankvalveonthesidethatisflowingproperlyandactivatethetriggerfullforcefor15seconds.Oncetheblockageisfreed,turnoffalltankvalves.CleananychemicalfromthefaceoftheINSTA-FLODispenserwithacleanragandreapplypetroleumjelly.Insertanunusednozzle,openallvalvesanddispenseatestshotintoawastecontainer.Aftercuring,checkthefoamquality.Ifblockageoccursagain,stopfoaming,turnoffchemicaltankvalves,ejecttheusednozzle,andreleasechemicallinepressurebyactivatingthedispenserintoawastecontainer.Slowlyloosenthehoseconnectionsatthetankvalves.CleanchemicalfromthethreadsandreplacewithanewINSTA-FLODispenser/HoseAssembly.(GototheAnswerCenteratwww.sprayfoamatdow.comandfollowthetroubleshootingtipsfortheFROTH-PAK™FoamSystem.)ReapplypetroleumjellytothefaceoftheINSTA-FLODispenserwithacleanrag.Insertanunusednozzle,openallvalvesanddispenseatestshotintoawastecontainer.Aftercuring,checkthefoamquality.

STORAGE AFTER USE
StoretheFROTH-PAK™Foamsystemat75°F(24°C),inacleandryarea.DONOTSTOREATTEMPERATURESABOVE120°F(49°C).Avoidprolongedstorageindirectsunlightornearheatsources.StoreINSTA-FLO DispenserwiththesafetyON(donottietriggerdown)andtankvalvesCLOSED.Removeusednozzle,reapplypetroleumjellytofaceofINSTA-FLO™Dispenser,andreinserttheusednozzle.Donotbleedpressureoffhosesduringstorage.SeeTroubleshootingabove.
To prevent hoses from clogging:Ifyourdispenserhasnotbeenusedforoneweekorlonger,activatethesystemforafewsecondsbyturningonthetankvalvesandsqueezing thetriggerfullywithoutnozzletodispense twinstreamsintoawastecontainer.Thiswillclearandrepressurizethehosesandshould bedoneeveryweekwhenthesystemisidle.Reapplypetroleumjellyandreinsertused nozzleforstorage.

Bothcomponentsaresoldinpressurizedcontainers.Ahydrofluorocarbon(HFC)blowingagent,R-134a(tetrafluoroethane),pressurizesthecontainersandallowsthechemicalstoflowproperlyduringuse.Ifreleasedinanenclosedarea,HFCscandisplaceoxygenandpresentadangeroussituationinwhichthereisnotenoughoxygentosupportlife.Overexposuretoblowingagentscancausecardiacarrhythmia,dizziness,drowsinessandananestheticornarcoticeffect.
First AidInhalation:Moveimmediatelytofreshair.Ifbreathingisdifficult,giveoxygen.Ifbreathinghasstopped,giveartificialrespiration.Seekmedicalattention.Skin contact:Washtheareathoroughlywithplentyofsoapandwater.Ifpainorirritationpersists,seekmedicalattention.Eye contact: Rinseeyeswithfreshwaterfor15minutes.Seekmedicalattention.
Regulatory Requirements and Exposure Limits1.Occupationalexposurelimitshavebeensetforisocyanate,the
blowingagentandsomeofthecomponentsinthepolyolblend.TheMSDSsstatethespecificlimitsestablishedforeachchemical.Ifthepotentialexistsforexposuretoanyofthechemicalstoexceedtheoccupationalexposurelimits,respiratoryprotectionandotherengineeringcontrolsmustbeused.Ifthereisanydoubtthattheventilationisenoughtoprovideadequateprotectionfortheworkers,respiratorsshouldbeworn.
2.BecauserespiratoryprotectionisoftenneededwhenapplyingFROTH-PAK™foam,allapplicatorsshouldbefittestedandtrainedontheproperuseofarespiratorandcompliantwiththeemployer’srespiratoryprotectionprogramandtheOSHARespiratoryProtectionStandard(29CFR1910.134).

fullbodycovering.3.Alwaysweargogglesorsafetyglasses.4.Weararespirator.Ifthereisanydoubt

1) Pour les usagers de la mousse FROTH-PAK (ensemble de cylindres de 7 ½ po. de diamètre) : L’assemblagepistolet/tuyauINSTA-FLOestreliéaux bonbonneschimiques.Retirerl’assemblagedela boîteetdéroulercomplètementletuyau.
2)Découperlasectionperforéesituéedanslapartiesupérieure delaboîte(prèsdelalanguettedeverrouillagequiretenait lecouvercle),etlaplierverslebaspourpermettreaux tuyauxdepénétrerdanslesdeuxouverturescréées.
3) Appliquerunecouchedevaselinesurlafaceintérieure dupistoletINSTA-FLO™.Cecifaciliteralenettoyage dupistoletetaugmenterasavieutile.
4)Pour les usagers de la mousse FROTH-PAK (ensemble de cylindres de 7 ½ po. de diamètre) : Aumoyendelacléfournie,serrer l’assemblagedesrobinets“A”et“B”jusqu’àcequ'elles soientbienserrées.Lacléestconçuedefaçonàse déformerouàseplierencasdepressionexcessive. Appliquerunecouchedevaselinesurlafaceintérieuredu pistoletINSTA-FLO.
5)Secouez la bonbonne pendant 30 secondes avant d’ouvrir les robinets.Tournerlesrobinetsà fond;lemouvementinitialdeproduitchimiqueà traverslestuyauxtransparentsreprésenteune confirmationdudébit.
6)Purgerlesystèmedansuncontenantpourdéchets enappuyantsurlagâchettedupistolet.Lorsqueles jetssontidentiques,relâcherlagâchette,nettoyerles tracesdeproduitchimiquesurl’emboutdupistolet
avecunchiffonpropreetappliquerunenouvelle couchedevaseline.
7)Choisirsoitunebuseanti-retourtransparente (calfeutrage)oubleue(pulvérisation).L’insérer fermementsurledevantdupistoletINSTA-FLO™. Vérifierquelabuseestsolidementfixéeaupistolet.
UTILISATION DE LA TROUSSE
Remplacer la buse si elle n’a pas été utilisée durant plus de 30 secondes. Onenlèvelabuseenappuyantfermementsur l’éjecteurjaunesituésurledessusdupistolet INSTA-FLO.
Avantd’appliquerlamousse,effectuerunpetitessai danslecontenantàdéchetspourvérifiersaqualité.
1) MaintenirlepistoletINSTA-FLOàunedistancede 15cm–60cm(6po–24po)del’endroitsurlequel onsouhaiteprojeter.Appliquerlamousseenappuyant surlagâchette.Noterquelecrandesûretéjaunedoit êtreenfoncéaupréalablepourdéverrouillerla gâchette.DéplacerlepistolettheINSTA-FLOd’un mouvementdeva-et-vientrégulierlorsdel’application delamousse.2)Lamousses’expanseraetserahorspoisseenmoins de60secondes(3–4minutespourlesformulations àexpansionlente),etseracomplètementdurcieen cinqminutes.Ilestrecommandéd’appliquerlamousse encouchesde2pooumoinspourlesapplicationsen coucheunique.
