OPENING SPEECH TEXT

I would like to wish welcome to Encik Bistamam bin Yahaya and express my appreciation for his

willingness to share with us his expertise in Grammar and Sentence Construction.

This Grammar Exposure programme is for 2 days and it is of the utmost importance for you, Form 3

students, to use this opportunity to listen and learn the techniques of writing with correct grammar.

The reason this programme is being held is to prepare all of you, Form 3 students, for the coming PMR

examination. As this is the last year for PMR before it is abolished, we wish that these last batch of PMR

candidates to pass the examination with flying colours and make this school proud. Thus, making it a

renowned school not only in Kedah but also throughout Malaysia.

The objective of this programme is not only to enable students to write better with minimal errors in

grammar but to promote and inspire awareness of the language capability. It is hoped that students will

gain confidence and the love for English not only for the purpose of passing examination but also for

future use after they completed their tertiary education.

Without further ado, I will leave you into Encik Bistamams competent hands to conduct this

programme.
