RelyinguponGod’sgrace,andwithoutreservation,weofferourgiftsforourministryintheworldandthebuildingupofChrist’schurch.Weaffirmtheministryofourbishopinconsecration,inordination,incommissioning, and in appointing us to these variousministries towhich God has called us. We soreverentlyacceptourappointmentswithagladmindandwill,rememberingthatGodhascalledustotheseministries. WeaffirmthatwehavemadeavowtoChristandtotheChurchuniversal toserve.WeprayweshallremaineveropentoGod’sgraceaswerespondtoGod’scall. WewillcherishthesewhomwearecalledtoleadandwillrespectthegiftsandgracesofallwhoserveChristwithusintheChurch.

THECOVENANTPRAYER

Now,beloved, letusbindourselveswithwillingbondstoourcovenantGod,andtaketheyokeofChristuponus.Christhasmanyservicestobedone.Somearetheresponsibilityofallthebaptized.Othersrequiretheskills,gifts,andgracesofthosesetapartbyordination. Someareeasy,othersaredifficult. Somebringhonor,othersbringreproach.Somearesuitabletoournaturalinclinationsandtemporalinterests,othersarecontrarytoboth. Insomewepleaseourselves, inotherswecannotpleaseChristexceptbydenyingourselves. Yet the power to do all these things is assuredly given us in Christ, who strengthens us.Therefore,letusmakethecovenantofGodourown.LetusengageourheartstotheLord,andresolveinhisstrengthnever togoback. Beingthusprepared, letusnow insinceredependenceonhisgraceandtrustinginhispromises,yieldourselvesanewtohim.
