WHY DON’T HEALTHCARE EVENTS HAVE THE SAME PERCEIVED VALUE AS OTHER CHANNELS?Presented by Michael Kelly, KthreePartners, Inc.

This workshop will examine the healthcare event value chain, including what’s the value for Associations, Vendors, Exhibitors, Sponsors, and Attendees. Are there additional ways to increase value for all stakeholders while at the same time increasing the obvious value of the HC convention channel? We will explore common marketing hurdles within events that inhibit value; data/intelligence capture, and “What if” ideas about current HC conventions.

DOING MORE WITH LESS v. 2016Presenter: Michael Seymour, 3D Exhibits, Inc.

This programs covers a variety of exhibit management budgeting philosophies and strategy including budgeting for a new build, rental program, forecasting costs on an annual program, and even basic interactive technology. There is an interactive case study in the program.

TRAFFIC DRIVER TRENDS AND ENGAGEMENT Presenters: David Saef, GES; Don Schmid, Pfizer

Today’s healthcare conventions are not only about creating compelling programming and helping healthcare professionals obtain CMEs, they are also about informing and connecting healthcare professionals to exhibiting companies to learn about new techniques and solutions. Yet a key challenge is how to drive traffic to the convention hall and get professionals to stay and learn firsthand. This session will provide results from a groundbreaking study of convention organizers and healthcare exhibitors on strategies deployed to drive traffic and engage attendees on the floor - with each other, with exhibitors, and with other practice experts.

BEACONS, AND GEO-FENCING – WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW FOR SUCCESSFUL PROXIMITY MESSAGING Presenters: Steve Smyth, VP Mobile Solutions, TriStar Publishing, Inc. and an industry representative.

This session is designed to actively engage audience members as they explore the functionality of beacon and geo-fencing technologies and the ways this can be used to deliver proximity-based messaging to healthcare event attendees. Using case studies from recent healthcare events as well as real-time results from HCEA Connect, attendees will walk through the process of initiating, deploying, and analyzing results for these applications.

A “HANDS ON” EXHIBIT EXPERIENCE Presenters: Barbara Orr, Poretta & Orr; Rick Counihan, Poretta & Orr

This workshop will demonstrate a successful implementation of an agency-driven marketing program, through an exhibit with a full immersion program. The exhibit marketing company will discuss their team strategy in working cohesively with the three groups – pharma client, agency and exhibit marketing.

SPONSORSHIPS: NEW PERSPECTIVES, NEW STRATEGIES Facilitator: Barb Charbonneau, Crescendo EMC

This session will feature roundtable discussions on the importance of sponsorship revenue, the regulatory environment impacting exhibiting companies, innovative sponsorship ideas, and enhancing your company’s brand through sponsorships. These facilitated discussions will assist you in learning from your colleagues and provide concrete ideas in setting up your sponsorship strategy. Bring your “if only I could” ideas to this session.

METRICS THAT MATTER: DEMONSTRATING THE VALUE OF EVENTS & THE MARKETING BUDGET Presenters: Mariano Franco, Pentax Medical; Lauren Malone, Sparks

Using a real-world example, we will demonstrate how the impact and value to the business of events can be measured in a meaningful, no-blind-spots way. Multiple data inputs are used to assess the effectiveness of the entire event, including pipeline opportunity, brand affinity, relationship strength, and experience quality. The case study demonstrates how the implementation of a holistic measurement strategy led to actionable, targeted insights that will improve event planning and the efficiency of event marketing spend in future events.

PRESENTATION PROMOTIONS – HOW TO MAXIMIZE THE IMPACT OF YOUR SPEAKING ENGAGEMENTS Presenter: Robyn Davis, When I Need Help (WINH)

When presenting educational content at an event, regardless of the format of your talk, simply showing up won’t make you a success. It’s your responsibility to attract the right audience, impress them, engage them, and amplify your efforts to connect more deeply with those attending as well as to touch those who couldn’t make it live.

In this session, we’ll highlight opportunities to promote your company’s experts from the moment they’re selected to speak at an industry event whether at the booth or on the main stage. Learn how to maximize your participation long after the engagement is over.

MOTIVATING MILLENNIALS Presenter: Amy Sondrup, Access TCA

Enough has been written about the aging/retiring boomer generation that we are all aware there is a diminishing senior workforce if not necessarily talent pool. Although they are moving up in the managerial ranks, members of Gen-X receive little press. Right now it’s all about the emerging Millennial Generation, those born between 1980 and 2000, who are entering the workforce. There are 79 million Millennials vs. 48 million Gen-Xers, so the emphasis is understandable. The question is: how do we motivate them in the workplace? This session will focus on innovations to help.
