The new E1000 series of Operator Terminals provides a huge leap forward in display technology.Ergonomics and ease of use were central to the new series design. The E1000 proves again how openHMI technology can be the key to integrated automation. Some of the key design elements are:

the presentThe wide range of communication facilities on the E1000 mean it’s ready totalk with almost anything. It comes with built-in RS232 and RS422/485 portsas well as Ethernet, which can be used to remotely manage the E1000. Oncean ethernet connection is enabled, remote program up/down load for programmaintenance or for remote data collection is possible. In addition by usingE1000 utilities and tools, remote “viewing” of the locally displayed screen isalso possible across an intranet or internet connection making sure you knowexactly what is going on at a machine level.

and the futureBoth USB host and device connection ports are available allowing you to add standard PC peripherals such as keyboard, mouse and printers to your local E1000 Operator Terminal. But because the host USB port is anopen connection you could also add hard drives, wireless LAN and evenbluetooth ….the possibilities are endless. The USB device port allows you a direct, highspeed connection for PC file transfer at a local level.

Feature Data access

Data storage and sharing are important functions of the manufacturing process andoperator terminals are quickly becoming the gateway to that data. The E1000 seriesmakes access to that data easier and more flexible than ever before. Users canchoose between the use of:

• Combined Ethernet -internet connectivity for factory wide or global access to data

• Direct connection to a modem for a simple remote telemetry solution(GSM/GPRS/PSTN) where a system may be installed at an inaccessible location.

• A new external CF data card interface on the front of the E1000 also means data canbe “taken” away on a removable data card for safe/permanent storage and processing

• Local printing directly from the HMI display is also possible where a local hard copyof processed data is required.
