She also stated that there is no intensive interethnic cultural cooperation, and when it exists, it lasts for a short time. OP-ED Albert Muja wrote OP-ED on the topic “Education in Kosovo”. Mr.Muja stated that the issue of education in Kosovo needs serious attention. He further explained that there is an overall public perception that numerous issues in public education aren’t functioning very well to the benefit of students, therefore everyone must take into account that the overall objective is to support all students in developing the knowledge and skills, given that they are an important key for Kosovo’s sustainable future. OP-ED The Executive Director of ACDC, Mr. Dušan Radaković participated in NGO AKTIV’s presentation of the reseach, as part of the project “Enhancing Transparency and Rule of Law in Kosovo-Serb majority Communities” in Civic Energy Center (CEC) in North Mitrovica. On ��.��.����. ACDC organized a confe-rence entitled “Property rights in Kosovo”. Panelistsat the conference were Dr. Duško Čelić, universityprofessor of law and Jovana Filipović, lawyer. Mainobjective of the conferencewas to discuss about theissues that the K-Serb population is facing in Kosovoregarding property rights as well as how to exerciseproperty rights using legal mechanism. The con-ference was attended by lawyers, civil societyactivists, as well as representatives of internationalorganizations and the media.

CONFERENCE “PROPERTY RIGHTS IN KOSOVO”

Within the project Human rights education program “Humanrights horizon”, funded by Community Development Fund (CDF) andSIDA, the student of Law Faculty, Miroslav Markovic, wrote an OP-ED onthe topic “Children and their rights” and pointed out several problemsregarding rights of the child. He suggested that the country shouldlisten and take into consideration what children have to say and enablethem to participate in the decision-making process on matters thatconcern them. Mr. Markovic also stated that it is the responsibility of allcountries to protect children. He concluded that investing in children’srights, and especially in their education, is investing in their own future.

On ��.��.����. In the Basic Court in Mitrovica, the executivedirector of the NGO ACDC, Dušan Radaković, signed contracts with ��translators and � legal associates. This assistance will contribute tobetter efficiency in order to reduce the number of unresolved cases.Translators and the legal associates are engaged through the NGOACDC on the UNMIK-funded project “Facilitating Access to Justice andPromoting Human Rights in the Mitrovicë/Mitrovica Region”.

SIGNING THE CONTRACTS

NGO AKTIV and NGO ACDC organized online launching eventand officially presented the continuation of their joint project“Enhancing Transparency and Rule of Law in Kosovo-Serb MajorityCommunities“. The project was presented by Mr. Dušan Radaković,Executive Director of ACDC and Mr. Caleb Waugh, Head of the Policyoffice, NGO AKTIV. During the event, they presented the projectobjectives, results, beneficiaries and project activities that have beenachieved and taken place over the past year, as well as the next stepsplanned for the coming ����-���� implementation period.

International Narcotics and LawEnforcement Affairs (INL).

ONLINE LAUNCHING EVENT

Local lawyer fromMitrovica North, Mr. Milan Smikić, wrote OP-ED on the topic "Protection of property rights in Kosovo”. Mr.Smikićstated that ”most of the institutional mechanisms in Kosovoresponsible for respecting human rights are significantly disruptedduring the pandemic and failed to demonstrate their resilience”. Mr.Smikić noted that the obstacles during the property protectionprocedure in Kosovo do not provide an optimistic attitude to theminority communities in Kosovo.

The OP-ED is part of the #Humanrightschampions criticalthinking promotion within Human rights education program “Humanrights horizon”, funded by CDF and SIDA.
