FROM THE PRINCIPAL Well done to our students from Years 3 to 6 for displaying great sportsmanship and resilience during
the house cross-country event held at Dunns Road Park last Friday. It was heartening to see our
students put in the effort to complete the big run and cross
the finish line. Well done to the students in the top ten for
each race, who will now go on to compete in the district
cross- country competition. Our next house-sporting event is
the athletics sports for Years 3 to 6 students at Ballam Park
on Wednesday 24th April (first week of term 2). The junior house cross-country for students from
Foundation to Year 2 is scheduled for following week on Friday 3rd May. Our students have some fun
sporting events to look forward to next term. We would love to see as many students as possible in
tee-shirts of their house colours for these occasions.
Friends of Osborne “FOS” - Welcome Morning Tea
A reminder that our FOS group is holding a welcome morning tea for our Foundation parents and
parents of new students in other year levels tomorrow, Wednesday 27th March at 9.00am outside
the canteen. If the weather is inclement, it will be held in the undercover area outside the library.
We look forward to an enjoyable get together.
Student Free Day – Tuesday April 2nd
Please be aware that Tuesday April 2nd is a student free day. The Osborne staff will be involved in a
professional development day along with a number of other schools in our network. We are
fortunate to have renowned presenter Misty Adoniou facilitate the day on literacy. The newsletter
next week will be distributed on the Wednesday 3rd April.
Next week at our last assembly for Term 1 the Triple A awards for academic excellence will be
presented. This week we enjoyed the Foundation students and the Sing Squad performing at
assembly. It was pleasing to see so many of our parents and community members attend the
assembly. Parents, grandparents and friends are welcome to attend our assemblies each week.

STUDENT AWARDS
RUNNERS CLUB
What a wonderful term we have had of Runners Club. Our last
session for the term was today and we had Jacob a special guest
to assist the children with their running. Jacob concentrated on
running strategies and techniques. The students found this very
beneficial and enjoyed the session.
What a great start to a Tuesday morning.
Our choc top fundraiser was a huge success, with many students enjoying
their ice– creams at recess. Many thanks to the FOS team for organising
this wonderful event.
