Road To CertificationApplication Process• Verifies academic and work experience• Determines discipline and designation
Academic• Graduate from a full-time, post secondary engineering or applied science
program or equivalent• 2 year program earns C. Tech designation• 3 year program earns C.E.T. designation
Work Experience• 2 years within discipline required• Co-op may count towards requirement• Generally 1 year in Canada
Road To CertificationProfessional Practice Examination• Multiple choice exam, consisting of three parts;
Law, Ethics and Practice• Must earn a minimum 50% grade in each part to pass• May be written upon becoming an Associate Member
Technology Report• Applicable to C.E.T. designation only• Two step process; 1) submit a Proposal, 2) upon
approval, write and submit a Report
