General Registration Information/Guidelines

1. County-wide Professional Development Publications are emailed three times

throughout the year – first semester/year-long, second semester and summer.

2. Participants need to register for the Professional Development opportunities

and workshops prior to the beginning date of the workshop. The registration

form serves as the individual participant prior approval form. Credit for

workshop attendance cannot be given if a registration form is not submitted.

3. Use the registration form that is located on the professional development

page.

4. Include your name, school name, school email address and the full name of

the workshop.

5. Three Avenues for submitting a registration form:

➢ If an alternative registration format is required, it will be listed with

the PD information.

6. If a principal’s signature is required, the participant will need to either fax,

send their registration form through the courier or have the administrator

email the registration form.

7. Registrations need to be received Five working days prior to the beginning

of the professional development opportunity unless otherwise stated within

the activity description.

8. You only need to register once for a specific workshop even if there are

multiple meeting dates for that workshop. This is also true for year-long PD

opportunities.

9. When selecting a Professional Development opportunity, please pay close

attention to the Target Audience and Activity Description. This information

will assist the participant in deciding which opportunities are appropriate.

Learning objectives include: Discrete Trials, Behavior Management Assessment and Interventions, Skill Acquisition, Behavior Reduction, Documentation and Reporting, and Professional Conduct and Scope of Practice and more. Various ECU Module Online Instructors ONLINE (via Blackboard) Participants will work on developing the essential knowledge and skills needed to facilitate vocabulary teaching and learning in content areas (math, science, social studies, physical education and health). The module will help participants learn strategies to help students in K-12 grades succeed in vocabulary learning and develop the ability to design and implement appropriate content area vocabulary instruction. Participants will be asked to create content area related vocabulary lesson plans that they can use in their classrooms. Participants will need to submit certificate of completion once it is received. 1.0 Literacy/Reading Renewal Credit Available K-5/EC/ELA Teachers: may be used for content area *Participants must submit certificate of completion for renewal credit $65 per student.
