Programs used: Illustrator & PhotoshopSimply Sweet is an original idea created by Meagan Shuffield. The idea was to create a sweetener that is a healthier alternative than what is on the market right now. What makes Simply Sweet so appealing is the different flavors that are offered and the portability of the small packets in each box. They can be enjoyed on the road or just about anywhere. The glass bottles are for home or office use, for easy pouring and storage.

Clean living is a movement about not only knowing what you put into your body, mind and soul, but also the things that surround you.It is time that we know what is in our food. The only way for that to happen is to start living a cleaner lifestyle. Time to get back to the basics, all natural foods and house hold items. We deserve to be able to eat things that we can pronounce and clean with products that won’t make us sick.
For this movement, created was the logo, the event banner, promotional shirts and an example of the logo for use on a large scale projector that could be used on the side of a building to showcase the movement.Programs used: Illustrator & Photoshop

which is derived from the endosperm of the corn kernel, is a mainstay of the corn refining industry. It has a wide range of industrial and food applications. Over 90 percent of the starch Americans used is produced from corn.Literally, thousands of supermarket staples are produced using both regular and specially modified starches. Many of today’s instant and ready-to-eat foods are produced using starches which enable them to maintain the proper textural characteristics during freezing, thawing and heating. You will also find starch in a wide variety of household items such as batteries, matches, cleaners, and trash bags. Many personal and health care items including cosmetics, deodorant, hair styling products, asprin, cough drops, and medicines, include starch in their ingredients.

is another major refined corn product; refined from the starch of the corn kernel, ethanol is an alcohol that has many industrial uses. In recent years, it has become an increasingly important source of fuel for newer internal combustion engines. The process: 1. Grinding corn kernals into a powder. 2. Heated and liquified into a starchy “mash.” 3. Enzymes break down the “mash” into fermentable sugars. 4. Yeast is added to ferment the sugars to ethanol.
extracted from corn germ, has high polyunsaturated fatty acid content and oxidative stability. Its largest single use is in bottled oil for consumer use, followed by margarine and industrial snack-frying operations. The germ is the only living part of the corn kernel. The germ contains the essential genetic information, enzymes, vitamins and minerals for the kernel to grow into a corn plant. Gasoline and diesel are actually ancient biofuels. But they are known as fossil fuels because they are made from decomposed plants and animals that have been buried in the ground for millions of years. Biofuels are similar, except that they're made from plants grown today.Much of the gasoline in the United States is blended with a biofuel—ethanol. This is the same stuff as in alcoholic drinks, except that it's made from corn that has been heavily processed. There are various ways of making biofuels, but they generally use chemical reactions, fermentation, and heat to break down the starches, sugars, and other molecules in plants. The leftover products are then refined to produce a fuel that cars can use.
Agave can be used to make ethanol. To make ethonal, a sugar is needed. Agave is a great source of sugar, infact has a higher fructose level than corn.
Sugar Cane is also a possible alternative solution for making ethanol. In Brazil sugar cane is used for ethanol instead of corn.

supply more than 56 percent of the U.S. nutritive sweetener market. Corn syrup is a sweetener made by processing corn starch with enzymes or acid to create a dextrose solution. High fructose corn syrup (HFCS) is further processed to increase its sweetness. Since HFCS is stable and cheaper to produce than ordinary sugar, it has largely replaced sugar in processed foods and soft drinks; in recent years, consumer watchdog and health groups have increasingly taken food manufacturers to task for their widespread use of HFCS, claiming that the product contributes to obesity.

This spread could be a feature spread in a magazine. The illustration is about a brewery owner’s cat who wakes him up every day at 5 o’clock in the morning. That showcases the average day for this brewer, his family and of course, his cat Pinsky.

As chairman and president of the Brooklyn Brewery, Steve Hindy enjoys the privilege of having one of his favorite brews, Brooklyn Brown Ale, on tap in his kitchen. Mr. Hindy, 62, became intrigued with beer-making in the 1980s while a Beirut-based Middle East correspondent for The Associated Press. He and a neighbor, Tom Potter, then a lawyer, went into the brewery business in 1988. Mr. Hindy lives in an 1840s clapboard house in Gowanus with his wife, Ellen Foote, 61, the principal of Intermediate School 89 in TriBeCa, and their cat, Pinsky. Their daughter, Lily, 28, lives nearby in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens and is a frequent Sunday visitor.
Cat’s Brew
CAT ALARM I get up between 5 and 6 every morning. I think my internal clock got scrambled when I was a foreign correspondent. But even if I could sleep later, Pinsky wakes me up. He starts howling to be fed. Somehow my wife sleeps through it, but I can’t.
MULTIPLE ESPRESSOS So I get out of bed and go downstairs to the kitchen, and depending on how insistent the cat is, I either feed him first or put the water in the espresso machine. The DeLonghi espresso maker is a key part of my day. I start with a double espresso, the first of three. My iPad is on the table, so I’ll check e-mail, have another coffee and fix myself some berries and yogurt and granola. When Ellen comes downstairs around 6:30 or 7, I usually make her a cappuccino. I’m writing a book about my first two years in the Middle East, so I might work on that for a bit. Our son, Sam, who was killed in a bicycling accident, was born in Beirut; Lily, our daughter, was born in Cairo.
THE AVERAGE DAY FOR A BREWER, HIS WIFE AND HIS CAT NAMED PINSKY.
The two companies that are coming together for this project is Jimmy Choo and Canon. The goal was to have the two companies appeal to a different target market but doing this as one entity. This is the brochure of the event and the process of how these two very different brands come together to create one brand. (There is also a video that accompanies the brochure).

This invitation was printed on Crane paper with a silver handpainted border. The assistant that came in for this invitation just wanted something simple that went with the Cowboys theme.
This hot air balloon is a die cut invitation. It was printed on Crane’s lettra paper and then duplexed together to double the thickness. The stars are gold foil stamped and the text white foil stamped to give it the slight texture of letterpress, without the cost.

Formal Invitation to follow
Both of these invitations were done for a customer at the same time. On the left was on a Karen Adams invitation. She wanted something different than the typical invitation that people would normally pick from examples. The invitation on the right was accompanied by a purple hand crank mixer die cut. She tied it together with a purple and green ribbon that matched the colors on the invitation.

This invitation was for the Fort Worth Country Day Senior Party for 2015, it includes things that the students did throughout their career at FWCD. The finished product had a googlie eye on the stick horse, various items glittered and mounted on red and kraft cardstock backers. Due to the size, each invitation was bagged in celophane with twine and bandana. We even included one mistake to see if any of the students could figure out what was wrong.
The brochure was for the senior party for Fort Worth Country day. Due to time constraints the Brochure was completed in only 3 days. The brochure totalled in 25 pages with 102 students, each with their own little interview with their picture.

This client wanted a custom invitation that included the monograms of the girls that they were honoring. The jewels were glittered to give it the pizazz that it needed.
This client saw something on Pinterest that she really liked but had no idea how to execute it. She brought in the photo so I could come up with something similar. The mason jar and bouquet were originally drawn and then put into the computer to make it into a vector. The little lights were glittered.

Having an anniversary is a big deal, originally it was going to have a fake backer of glitter. What we ended up with is a platinum metallic paper backing, black metallic paper with rounded corners and white ink. It needed the pizazz that comes with the party.
For this invitation, a client wanted something with champagne and cupcakes with a watercolor effect. The image was first hand sketched on paper and then sketched in illustrator with my Wacom tablet. The invitation has a silver sparkle backer and an envelope liner to give it a more grounded look.
