CIDC – Activities: UNECE - CIDC Centre of Excellence for PPP Projects in Roads and Highways launches next round of

Case Study Oriented Set of Six Courses for PPPs in Roads & Highways between October’ 2015 & January’ 2016 (Based on UN recommended curriculum) :

First round of Module 1 to 6 has been successfully conducted between 25th May’2015 to 3rd August’2015 in which delegates from Niti Aayog, UP State Govt. Department, banks, PSUs, PWD Karnataka, Industry and academia actively participated.

National Skill Development Corporation:

To meet the growing manpower need of the industry & fulfil the objectives of National Skill Development, CIDC is engaged in worker training on a substantial basis. To provide inputs & information to stakeholders, CIDC is hosting the training data on CIDC website at www.cidc.in/new/CIDC_NSDC.html. It is expected to meet the requirements of NSDC & its stakeholders as well for accessing the information for their use. Reader can visit the link to view the trainee data whom they can employ on the project if required.

CIDC – Activities:

The call for nomination for 8th CIDC Vishwakarma Awards 2016 was opened on 15th August 2015. This being

the 20th year of formation of CIDC, the theme for the event will be “Two Decades of Nation Building”.

Based on feedback received from stakeholders, two new categories have been added 1. Achievement Award

for Best HR Practitioners & 2. Achievement Award for Best Archived Projects while two categories have been

withdrawn 1. Achievement Award for Best News Coverage of Construction Industry &

2. Achievement Award for Construction Education.

News Report – Airports Authority of India:

Independence Day was celebrated with much fervour and gaiety at all CIDC training centres by trainees enrolled in “Project for Employment Oriented Training and Skill Development Programme for SC/ST/OBC/Women & EWS of Society for 1000 Persons under Airports Authority of India CSR Initiative”. As of now 305 students have been attending regular “in-class” and “hands-on-practical” training at the centres. Mr. R. N. Srivastava, ED (HR), AAI & Mr. Debashish Ghosh, AGM (HR), AAI, visited CIDC Corporate Training Hub, Vishwakarma Pratham, Faridabad on 25th July, 2015 and interacted with the students. They have expressed satisfaction with progress of the project. Besides the curriculum, students are encouraged to take part in extra-curricular activities to help them in personality development.

TMU-CIDC B.Voc.: TMU-CIDC B.Voc. Program is to start from 15th September 2015 in five CIDC Centres of Uttar Pradesh i.e Dhaulana, Ramshahpur, Lucknow, Kanhmou & Gorakhpur. The Aim of the programme is to create more job ready employees/entrepreneurs by imparting them skills and education leading to creation of a rich resource pool of skilled human resources.

CIDC – Activities: Celebration of Independence Day:

Independence Day was celebrated at Gorakhpur centre. Shri P.K. Mishra, Addl. Director, hosted the

National Flag and delivered a very inspiring and patriotic speech. National anthem was sung by the staff

and trainees with full zeal. CIDC trainees organized cultural program and sung patriotic songs. The

performance of trainees from OIL and AAI candidates were excellent. The speeches of trainees created

environment of dedication and sacrifice to the nation. Addl. Director distributed medals and prizes to

good performers and winners.

Placement Meet:

A Placement meet organized at VIET, CIDC Centre on 17 Aug, 2015. Vikas Buildtech Pvt. Ltd., Gorakhpur

and Bhagirath Infraventure Pvt. Ltd., Lucknow came for placement of CIDC trained candidates. Interview

was conducted for land surveyor.

Personality Development Class:

Gorakhpur Centre has started personality development sessions for its trainees. In the personality

development session, we covered the topics like preparation of self-introduction, Body Language,

Increasing Vocabulary, Analysing strength and weakness (SWOT), Communication Skill, Listening,

Communication barrier, Overcoming these barrier, Building self-esteem and confidence, Working on

attitudes i.e. aggressive, assertive & submissive, Telephone etiquettes, Social grace and table

manners, Personal interview session, Motivation classes, Group Discussion. These sessions will help

our trainees to develop an impressive personality and makes them stand apart from the rest.

Personality development also plays an essential role in improving one’s communication skills.

Individuals ought to master the art of expressing their thoughts and feelings in the most desired way.

Such sessions grooms an individual and helps him make a mark of his/her own and helps to develop a

positive attitude in life. An individual with a negative attitude finds a problem in every situation. Rather

than cribbing and criticizing people around, analyse the whole situation and try to find an appropriate
