Viral Marketing, Why?• It’s a connected world: We have dramatically more friends of friends and we can connect with them faster and more

frequently than ever.

• From broadcasting to interacting: interruption marketing is no longer effective

• Larger percentage of early adopters: While early adopters (the nerds who always want to know about the cool new thing in their field) have always existed, now we’ve got more nerds than ever

• Its about the experience• Ideas & stories spread naturally – free media• Not just free media or low-cost advertising: viral marketing promotes brand awareness, fosters support among

consumers and encourages the creation of virtual communities in which further content, whether created by the firm or by users themselves, can be shared more widely

Warner Brothers announced the trailer on the film's website, telling fans that to see it, they had to help the Gotham City Police Department locate Batman by tracking down hundreds of pieces of graffiti from around the world.
