Keeping up with school work is never easy because of travel and practice. But luckily there are special programs available to student-athletes.

This is one of the study rooms on the 3rd floor of the Ritchie Center that are available to student athletes. There is always someone supervising to make sure everyone is staying on top of their homework.

There are five Apple computers located in this particular study room, all available to student athletes who are in study hall. Every athlete who studies in this room has to swipe in with their student I.D card in order to log their hours.

Freshmen basketball players have to attend study hall for 3 hours a week, regardless of their GPA. After practice is when they typically complete their hours.

There are academic advisors and tutors that athletes can request for whenever they need assistance.

This is a second study room for student athletes. This one is used more for studying for exams. There are a few couches, and less people to distract you from working.

Sophomore Center Jake Logan is not required to attend study hall, but he does so anyway just to stay on top of his work. “If I went home to do my homework, I would just fall asleep and watch television”, says Logan.

After practice, most of the basketball team heads to the Pub to grab some dinner. This is a prime opportunity for them to complete their homework, or study together for tests.

Sophomore Guard Brett Olson is finishing up an Accounting project at the Pub, which is due later during the week. With dim lights and noise from the television in the background, this is not the ideal place to complete school work.

Junior Forward Chris Udofia is finishing up his homework after a late lab. He does not have the luxury of eating with his teammates after practice, instead, he has more classes to attend.

Senior Guard Chase Hallam reads for his Accounting class after practice. Since he misses a lot of class because of travel, he tries to catch up on days where he has more free time.
