Geo-Targeted Tweets & Google Maps: How Oniracom leveraged Matisyahu’s different daily location through tweets to promote his tour and fan interaction

WheresMatis.at is born

Oniracom along with Matisyahu’s management developed an idea surrounding Matisyahu’s travels, since he was playing shows, tweeting and wanting to engage directly with his fans. 

Using leading-edge social media integration along with geo-targeting strategies Oniracom created a microsite that facilitated Matisyahu/Fan engagement.  We branded this campaign "Where's Matis At?"

Implementing the Strategy

Using an iPhone application that updates geo-coordinates, Oniracom output the location of Matisyahu on a Google Map with an icon of his RV in relation to all the other blue pins which represent his shows. 

Fans track his progress on tour, upload their own content, tweet back and even meet up with him at ‘secret’ Twitter-revealed locations.

Social Media Integration

Fans can engage in a Twitter conversation using Oniracom’s

custom Twitter chat piece. 

We pushed the social media integration as much as we could fit on this microsite. 

Fans can also upload their own Flickr photos using a tag and have them display on the site.

Fans can download a free Matisyahu mp3 in trade for their email address,

building Matis’ mailing list. 

Lastly, fans can enjoy Matisyahu’s webisodes on an embedded streaming

Kyte player.

Site Visits from June 10th to July 10th

WheresMatis.at received over 10,000 visits in 30 days

The social media integration on the site also contributed to a drastic increase in Twitter followers, Flickr fan uploads, and mailing list subscribers.
