ONGOING PROJECTS ACTIVITIES HIGHLIGHTS
Strengthening and Activating District Health System (SAHaS)
More than 90% Health Mothers Group Meeting were
conducted during the project period
Meeting of Health Facility Operation Management
Committee were conducted once in a three months during
the project period.
Altogether 32 Prefab health facilities were handed over to
the local level during the period.
All the then VDCs had advocacy group formed for the
regular conduction of Health Mothers Group Meeting and
Health Facility Operation Management Committee
Meeting.
The project ended in January 2018 with the submission of
final report.
Conducted 4 days MToT for the Project Officers from 24-
27, March, 2018.
Coordination with D(P)HO, Rural municipalities,
municipalities and Health Post In-charge.
Handover of 19 prefabricated health facilities to local level
till date from February 2018.
Infection prevention trainings are running in the health
facilities of 9 districts.
Global Antibiotic Resistance Partnership (GARP) Nepal
Celebration of World Antibiotic Awareness Week 2017.
Ministry of Health, Ministry of Livestock Development,
FAO, WHO, OIE and the Fleming Fund jointly organized
a Workshop on ‘One Health and Antimicrobial Resistance:
Challenge and Way Forward’.

Orientation of Antimicrobial Stewardship Program at
Chitwan Medical College (CMC) in collaboration with
Department of Drug Administration (DDA).

Resistance for Community Pharmacists in collaboration
with DDA. A TOT program was run on April 2018 to train
the trainers personnel from DDA, NVL, NHEICC and
NHTC.

Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition Coordination with D(P)HO and Nutrition focal person of
Morang and Sunsari
Conducted orientation of IMAM project to the D(P)HO
team and health coordinators of Municipalities and Rural
Municipalities.
Conducted District Training of Trainees to 25 health
workers each in Morang and Sunsari district.
172 health workers in Sunsari and 352 health workers in
Morang district were trained on comprehensive nutrition
service delivery mechanism and protocol.
674 FCHVs in Sunsari district and 503 FCHVs in Morang
district were trained on IMAM program targeted for flood
affected area in the districts.
20 hospital staffs each in Morang and Sunsari districts
were trained on management of medical complication of
malnourished children through establishing stabilization
center (SC) in the district.
10 OTCs in Morang and 13 OTCs in Sunsari were
established in coordination with D(P)HO.
Almost ten hundred thousand children of age 6-59 months
were screened using MUAC in each district.
591 children in Sunsari and 768 children in Morang district
were identified as SAM during the screening were
admitted in to the OTC for appropriate treatment using
RUTF
All OTCs were handed over to the respective
Municipalities and Rural Municipalities.
The Project ended in March.
