STUDY “IN THE WORD” Kieth Chambliss is hosting a new home bible study from 2:00pm to3:00pm. on Sunday. Romanos 5:1-5 Yo soy tu hermano Gilberto.........

Sermon NotesSermon Title: “How Great is Our God”

Scripture: Psalm 95:1-2

Paul’s PonderMonday after Coachella Fest: a three hour delay getting out of the desert. My car picks this day to have the air conditioning go out. The traffic is fine until just before Indian Trail. Ahhh, but I know the alternate routes. So I get off at Indian Trail and head south until I can cut west and hit HWY 111. 111 is clear but the traffic is still bad when I merge onto the 10. So I take Hagen-Lehman and the side road that runs next to the freeway. The freeway is still congested at Morongo so I take a little known gravel road to

skirt around it.I am hot and sweaty but it only took me an hour and a half to get to Ban-ning instead of three hours. I arrive in time to take my car to the shop and leave it with them to fix the air conditioning. I will car pool tomorrow and won’t need the car until tomorrow night. I whip out my cell phone and call Debbie to come and pick me up. Hmmmm. No answer. I’ll send her a text. Waiting. Nothing. No problem. My daughter lives a short distance away, I’ll call her. Again, no answer. Try Debbie again. Nothing. I have another daughter that I can depend on. I call her. Another answering machine. I have been calling and waiting in excess of 30 minutes. The shop is closing. I’ll just walk a little ways and one of them is bound to call and pick me up.In Banning the streets all go up or down hills. There are no level paths. So I start walking up a street with my bag and my lunch ice chest. Debbie doesn’t send me enough food to fill the ice chest, but I do go through a lot of water and she puts ice packs in to keep it cold and heavy. The bag has papers to work on, but I am not worried; someone is bound to call me back

soon.I turn and go downhill for a segment before I start another uphill street. I zig zag my way towards home so I don’t have any one stretch that is too long up hill. I repeatedly check my phone. The power is on. The volume is turned up. No calls yet. I’ve only been walking 30 minutes. Too bad I drank

all the water already. My leg is hurting.I have walked through neighborhoods and around construction and closed streets. I am less than half a mile from home. Surely someone will call me now. I begin to ponder. Which is worse: to not be able to read or to be able to read and not read? To not be able to have a cell phone or to have a cell

phone and not have it so you can hear me calling when I need help?!Which is worse: not having a Bible or having a Bible and not reading it? To not know about prayer or to know about prayer and not to pray from

the heart?16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, cor-recting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God may be

thoroughly equipped for every good work. II Timothy 3:16, 17…pray continually I Thessalonians 5:17:1
