1 Installation

Plug the screen in and power on.

A keyboard can be plugged into the screen to assist with setup.

For out of the box setups, please follow Steps 1-8 to take you through the on-screen wizard.Otherwise, go toStep 9.

1.1 Setup1. Using the remote, select your preferredmenu language and pressNext.

2. Select the orientation for on-screenmenusand content and pressNext. Content orientation canbe adjusted from the CMSat any time.

3. Set Auto Power Off toOff asotherwise the screenmayunexpectedly turn off.

4. Connect the player to your preferred network. SoC players support both wired and wirelessconnectivity. Once connected, pressNext.

5. Set the date and time and pressNext.

6. Play via URL Launcher and when prompted enter the URL of your CMS in the format:

http://icc*****.domain/soc

or

http://<IPaddress>/soc

Note: Ensure you append '/soc' to the end of the URL.

7. Once entered, pressNext.

8. Now pressOK. You should now be presented with the Samsung Signagemenu. If this doesnotappear then press theHome button on the remote.

9. To direct the SoC player to a different CMS, selectChange URL and input the URL of your CMSfollowing the format specified in Step 6.

10. Once the URL is correct, select URL Launcher.

11. The SoC player will now download the SoC app and you will be presented with an install codepage.

12. Enter a configuration install code and pressdone ('enter' on a keyboard).

The install code can be found bynavigating to theManage Players page of the CMSand selecting

the Settings icon in the left panel. Here you will be able tomanagemultiple configurations. Eachconfiguration on this page will have its own unique install code.

1.2 Downloading Content1. Type in the install code using the Samsung remote or a keyboard.

2. The factory shipped install code isDEFAULT0 (this is the default configuration).

3. PressEnter on the keyboard orOK on the remote.

4. You should see thePlayer Installation Progress screen.

5. Once the player has installed it will automatically reboot.

6. If the channel hasbeen published the player will download content and switch to playbackmode.

Note: If the channel hasnot been published, it will show you the channel ID and wait for it to bepublished in the CMS.

1.3 Creating Configurations

1. Click theManage Players icon in the top right hand corner of the CMS. You can also reachthis page bynavigatingHome > Manage Players.

2. Click theSettings icon on the left hand side.

3. Click theAdd Configuration button.

4. Type the name of the configuration and from the drop downmenusselect the appropriatechannel, screen orientation and license you want your configuration associated with. If you wish torestrict the channel download to specific times then clickRestricted Times and enter theappropriate values.

This feature allowsyou to add and edit configurations. Therefore, you can install screenswith pre-setorientationsand channels.

1.4 Editing or Deleting Configurations

1. Click theManage Players icon in the top right hand corner of the CMSor navigateHome> Manage Players.

2. Click theSettings icon on the left hand side.

3. Hover over a configuration in the list. It will turn blue and two iconswill appear to the right.

4. To edit:

1. Click theEdit icon and a pop up will appear showing you the Installation code.

2. You can rename the configuration, select a different channel or change the screenorientation or associated license.

5. To delete:

1. Click theDelete icon.

2. Thiswill open a pop up asking if you are sure. SelectYes.

1.5 Installing Configurations

1. On your CMSclick theManage Players icon or navigateHome > Manage Players.

2. Select the player from the list.

3. Click theActions tab.

4. Click on the plug icon.

5. Select the preferred configuration from the drop downmenu.

Note: During initial setup, when a SoC player displays the install code page you can use thereinstall feature on the CMS to install the player. This allows for a remote install rather than typingan install code into each player.

6. Click the tick button and the new configuration will install.

1.6 Time Zone1. Press theMenu button on the remote.

2. Scroll down toSystem.

3. Select Time.

4. ClickClock Set.

5. PressMenu to return to themainmenu.

6. PressMenu again to close themainmenu.

2 Portrait Mode

2.1 Configuration BasedONELAN recommendspre-rotating content before adding it to the CMS. If this is not possible thenorientation can be set through displayand configuration.

1. Click theManage Players icon in the top right hand corner of the CMSor navigateHome> Manage Players.

2. Click theSettings icon on the left hand side.

3. Select your configuration from the list.

4. Click on theEdit button and change the orientation of the screen through the drop downmenu in the pop up box.

5. SelectSave.

Note: The displayorientation takesprecedence over the configuration orientation.

2.2 Display Based

1. Click theManage Players icon in the top right hand corner of the CMSor navigateHome> Manage Players.

2. Select your player from the list.

3. Click on theEdit button on the right hand side.

4. The player information will become editable.

5. Select the orientation from the drop downmenu.

6. ClickApply.

3 Gapless Playback

3.1 ConfigurationGaplessplayback is constrained on Samsung players and content must meet the followingspecifications to play in gaplessmode.

l The playlist must consist of all videos. Adding anyother playlist itemwill cause it to not run gapless.Therefore, all imagesmust be converted to videos.

l Each videomust play until finished.

l All videosmust have:l The same aspect ratio.

l The same video encoding.

l The same audio encoding.

l Mp4 format.

Note: Folderswith videosare supported subject to these constraints.

4 Full Screen Video

Full screen video ismost easily accomplished by creating a layout with a single full screen video zone.However, you can also use custom position and size following the stepsbelow. This is useful for whenyour layout ismulti-zoned and you want a single item playing full screen and for each other item playingonly in that zone.

4.1 Custom Position and Size1. Select the item you wish to go full screen.

2. Click on the item'sEdit button.

3. Click on theAdvanced tab.

4. Select Use custom position and size.

5. Set the left and topmargins to 0 pixels.

6. Set the height to 100%.

7. Set the width to 100%.

5 Recommended Software Version

1. Press theMenu button on the remote.

2. Scroll down to Support.

3. Navigate to Software Update.

4. The current version will be displayed on the right hand side.

5. Firmware updates can be found at onelan.com/support.

6 Factory Reset

1. PressHome on the remote.

2. Select Change URL and change it to $DEL.

3. PressDone and launch URL.

4. Now pressHome again and change your URL back to your CMSURL.

5. Relaunch player.

8 Known Limitations

l NTB level gapless playback - this is a known limitation with Samsung players. The gaplessplaybackwill not be to the same level as the NTBand requires the configuration detailed in thisdocument to bemet. If the player cannot play one of the videos then the player will fall back toplaying the videosnon-gapless.

Note: SSSP2 Samsung players cannot support gaplessplayback in portrait configurations.Gaplessplaybackwill onlywork in landscape.

l Movies/images - usemedia of a similar size to the zone asotherwise scalingmaycause lossofquality.

l GIFs - avoid usingmultiple animatedGIFsas these can cause playback issues.

l Volume - if you set the volume of an itemwith sound (i.e. a video, HTML item or soundtrack) to 0%or mute a schedule on the CMS managing the SoC screen, sound will still play on that SoC screen.

l Video opacity - is not supported.

l SoC players do not yet supportShow part of Movie option for theMovie Size property.

l External storage - Kingston DataTraveler USBsare not recommended for use with externalstorage as thismay lead to connectivity issues.

8.1 Samsung Limitationsl Some codesmaynot be playable if there are errors in contents.

l Media is not able to be played if the file is corrupted or information in the container iswrong.

l Content which have higher bitrate/frame rate than specificationsmayhave stalling of video oraudio during playback.

l Seek (jump) function is not supported if the index table is corrupted.

l Network streaming contentsmaynot be played smoothly depending on network status.

l SomeUSB/digital camera devicesmaynot be compatible with the player.

l RMVB is supported only in China, Hong Kong target device.

l HEVC codec is supported only in MKV/MP4/TS container.

l SSSP3 players do not have good performance when full screen imagesare set to fade in/out. Theanimationmaystutter or not show at all.

l Samsung gaplessplayonly supported 'stretch' mode.

l Do not use an audio-only video as the first item in a playlist as thiswill stop themovie player fromworking.

8.1.1 Video decoderl H.264 FHD: supports to level 4.1 (FMO/ASO.RSare not supported).

l VC1APL4 is not supported.

l WMA losslessaudio: not supported. Supported toM2 profile.

l CHina, Hong Kong target device doesn't support RealAudio 10 lossless.

l QCELP, AMR, NB/WBare not supported.

l Vorbis: supports to 5.1 ch.

l DD+: supported to 5.1 ch.

l DTSLBR codec is supported only in MKV/MP4/TS container.
