Locally, but also a globally!

• Preparation: Mapping party Berlin (Shoaib Burq)• Pierre Béland and Andrew Buck gave us remote

technical support + organised the mappers of the HOT world with help of the Tasking Manager

• After 4 days already 60 mappers from all over the world and 106 000 objects added

• Also African OSM communities started to map for Lubumbashi: Burkina Faso, Senegal and Togo

• And now… mapathon in London!

Reflection• One week with a lot of energy, but it was

really short (sustainability?) • The main focus in Lubumbashi was data

collection on the field, so what about editing? • ‘Normal’ obstacles: internet connection

(expensive and not stable), technical issues, security issues, question of volunteering, etc.
