One day, Kanata visits Daniel with the magic book.

“I read this book every night, but nothing happens,” says Kanata.

“Hmm. That’s too bad.”

But then, suddenly, the book begins to shine.

“The magic―it’s working now!”

“Here we go inside the book again!”

Swoosh!

They visit the wizard. He looks happy to see them.

“Hello there! Are you ready for your second task?”

The wizard takes out a piece of parchment.

It says, “Help Peter the farmer with his harvest.”

Ella the fairy takes Kanata and Daniel to Peter’s farm.

“Hello, kids. I’m Peter the farmer.”

“My name is Kanata.”

“And I’m Daniel.”

“Can you help me? I have to harvest a lot today.”

“Um, but there’s only one vine,” says Daniel.

“Look! There’re some carrots, onions, potatoes, green peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, and heads

of cabbage and lettuce!” says Daniel.

“Kids, can you help me some more?” asks Peter the farmer. “Get eleven strawberries, please.”

“Okay.”

“I like strawberries!” says Kanata.

“Good job, kids!” says Peter the farmer. “Let’s have some tea. Do you like carrots?”

“Yes, I do,” says Kanata.

“No, I don’t,” says Daniel.

“Oh, but I’m sure you’ll like my carrot cake. Here, take a bite.”

“Mmm . . . Yes, this is delicious!”

“Good. Well, thank you for your help,” says Peter the farmer.

At that moment, the book begins to shine. Kanata and Daniel see another star appear on the cover.

“We did it!” cry the boys happily.

“Boys, can you help me?” asks Daniel’s mother.

“All right,” say the boys.
