Once there was a princess who had no friends to play with. She was very lonely and

wished for a friend.

Suddenly a frog wearing a tiny crown appeared. The frog wanted to play

But the princess said "I would rather play by myself than play with a dirty ugly frog like

you."

The princess left. She hated dirty, ugly frogs.

One day her golden ball fell in the pond.

The ball sunk into the pond and the princess was very upset.

The frog wearing the crown came and said "I can get the ball for you, princess". He

was very kind especially after the princess was so mean before.

He got the ball and gave it to the girl.

The princess ran to the castle, never thanking the frog

The frog was very sad.

At dinner, she told the king she lost her ball in the pond and a dirty ugly frog got it out

of the pond. The king thought the frog must be very kind.

The next day the frog hopped in to the castle. The princess was very surprised and

acted very mean. She told the frog he was ugly and dirty and to leave.

The king, wanting to thank the frog for getting the golden ball, asked the frog to stay

for dinner. The princess was not happy. The frog was very happy.

After dinner the king sent the princess and the frog to play. The princess was very angry and threw a pillow at the frog.

Suddenly the frog began to change.

The frog became a handsome prince.

The prince explained that an evil witch cast a spell and changed him to a frog. He thanked the princess for changing him back to a prince. The prince was now very

handsome.

The prince remembered how mean the princess acted and left the castle immediately.

The princess was sad that she had been so mean but it was too late.
