STOP AND THINK

Some of us come to Mass and try not to get involved. We hang back for many reasons: fear we will be pressured into long-term commitments, or we will be asked to do what we have no aptitude for. Reluctant volunteers may be generous in other ways, through the weekly collection or donations to good causes. Are you hesitant to volunteer? What are your God-given abilities? Are you a leader, a team player, or a behind-the-scenes worker? Are you sick, homebound, or a frequent trav-eler? You can pray more. There is something only you can do for your parish! Are you a ministry leader? Do you communi-cate to parishioners the value of what you do? Are you welcom-ing and appreciative to new people? If you are a volunteer, do you share your enthusiasm with other parishioners and invite them to join you? Our parish survives if only a few are commit-ted, but it thrives if everyone is included. FAMILY MASS CHILDREN’S CHOIR

St. Clement of Rome would like to invite children in grades 3 through 7 to participate in the Family Mass Children’s choir which sings occasionally at the 10:00 AM Sunday Mass. Please come out and join us. Warm-ups will take place in the Parish Center at 9:30 AM. For more information, please contact our Music Director, Louis Hackett, at the Parish Center.

NEW HYMNALS FOR SCR

St. Clement of Rome has chosen Ritual Song as our new hymnal. This hard covered hymnal will include the full texts of the readings for each Sunday and feast day of the three-year Lectionary cycle as well as service music and psalmody and an equal balance of contemporary and traditional hymns. It will also provide a wide selection of world music and a diversity of languages for multilingual worship. The publisher of Ritual Song is GIA – the same publisher that has published the Gather hymnal, the resource we have been using for the past 20 years here at SCR. So, many of the hymns and songs you will know and recognize. However, many new songs will be available for us to learn as well. We would like to invite you to consider purchasing one or more hymnals. You can donate a hymnal and dedicate it to the memory of a departed loved one or to simply honor your family name. A memorial plate will be attached to the inside front cover of the hymnal creating a lasting memory for years to come. The cost of each Ritual Song hymnal is $18.00. Please see the envelopes in the back of church to make a donation.

The 2017 St. Clement of Rome Craft Fair will be held on Saturday, Oct. 14, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. For more information or to register a booth, please contact our school office at 888-0386.

COME SPEND AN HOUR WITH THE LORD! Tuesdays 4:00 PM Thursdays 4:00 AM Fridays 6:00 PM Saturdays 4:00 PM We are in need of adorers who can commit to an hour one day a week. Please consider an hour with the Lord. Times most needed are those posted here and in the chapel.

And there is a time to die... Y hay un tiempo para morir…

United with the families of our deceased members, we pray for their

eternal rest, especially for Lillia Cervini May their families find comfort as a result of our prayer.
