Rhine, 67, of Malden, went home to be with the Lord on Oct. 29, 2016, after a lengthy battle with cancer that he fought with faith and dignity. Gary was born on Oct. 17, 1949 in Gideon, Mo. to Illine Boyet. He was raised by his loving grandpar- ents, Willie and Edna Rhine who preceded him in death. Gary became a member of the U.S. Army on Au- gust 28, 1969; serving his country in Vietnam. After returning from his service, he pursued a career as Col. Gary Rhine, auctioneer. Gary was the owner of Malden Auto Auction and a partner in Dixie Auction Service. Gary was a 32nd degree Master Mason of the 4 mile Lodge #212 in Campbell, MO as well as a Shriner. Gary was united in mar- riage to Linda K Baugus on December 22, 1968. They were blessed with a loving family through their children; Melissa Blair and husband, Jeffrey, and their children, Lauren Stidham and husband, Brent, and Carson Blair; Matthew Rhine and wife, Samantha, and their sons, Trenton and Colton Rhine. Gary is also survived by his mother-in-law, Pauline Baugus; sister, Shirley Cossey; his uncle Cecil Rhine who he considered as a brother and his aunts, Nola Gilkey, Geneva Branch, Ann Morris and Jewel Fisher. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jack Boyet; his uncle, Jack Rhine and father-in-law, Douglas Baugus. Gary was a member of Sunnyvale General Bap- tist Church for 26 years and a tireless witness for the Lord. He never met a stranger and helped in any way he could. Richard Leon Mayo FORDLAND, Mo. - Richard Leon Mayo, 85, of Fordland, formally of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Saturday Oct. 29, 2016 at Strafford Care Center. Mr. Mayo, the son of the late Richard H. and Thelma G. Kearbey Mayo, was born April 7, 1931 in Butler County, Mo. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Mr. Mayo had retired as an auto body repairman. He enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, fishing and woodworking. On April 8, 1950, he married Frances Jewell Pennington in Paragould, Ark. She preceded him in death on April 26, 2000. Survivors include three children, Sherry Hiatt and Andy Mayo of Fordland, Mo. and Steve Mayo of Santa Rosa, Calif; five grandchildren, Dulci Orr, Kelly McSwain, Stephanie Figueroa, Kayla Lilly and Kenneth Hiatt; 12 great- grandchildren; a brother, Robert F. ing multiple charges stem-ming from his alleged in-volvement in an accident Sunday afternoon near the intersection of Westwood and Route PP.

Police arrested Benjamin B. McKee, 38, of Ripley, Tenn., at 5:20 p.m. Sunday at a local hospital on sus-picion of second-degree assault (vehicular), driving while intoxicated, careless and imprudent driving, driv-ing with a revoked license and no insurance. He was booked at the Butler County jail.

According to reports, Lacey Williams, 38, of Poplar Bluff was on a 1997 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle waiting on red light at the intersection when she was struck in the back by a 2013 Honda Accord driven by McKee. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening in-juries.

Williams was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident and McKee was wearing a seatbelt, accord-ing to reports.

Gary L. RhineMALDEN, Mo. - Gary

L. Rhine, 67, of Malden, went home to be with the Lord on Oct. 29, 2016, after a lengthy battle

with cancer that he fought with faith and dignity.

Gary was born on Oct. 17, 1949 in Gideon, Mo. to Illine Boyet. He was raised by his loving grandpar-ents, Willie and Edna Rhine who preceded him in death.

Gary became a member of the U.S. Army on Au-gust 28, 1969; serving his country in Vietnam. After returning from his service, he pursued a career as Col. Gary Rhine, auctioneer. Gary was the owner of Malden Auto Auction and a partner in Dixie Auction Service. Gary was a 32nd degree Master Mason of the 4 mile Lodge #212 in Campbell, MO as well as a Shriner.

Gary was united in mar-riage to Linda K Baugus on December 22, 1968. They were blessed with a loving family through their children; Melissa Blair and husband, Jeffrey, and their children, Lauren Stidham and husband, Brent, and Carson Blair; Matthew Rhine and wife, Samantha, and their sons, Trenton and Colton Rhine.

Gary is also survived by his mother-in-law, Pauline Baugus; sister, Shirley Cossey; his uncle Cecil Rhine who he considered as a brother and his aunts, Nola Gilkey, Geneva Branch, Ann Morris and Jewel Fisher. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jack Boyet; his uncle, Jack Rhine and father-in-law, Douglas Baugus.

Gary was a member of Sunnyvale General Bap-tist Church for 26 years and a tireless witness for the Lord. He never met a stranger and helped in any way he could. Gary was greatly loved and will be deeply missed.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at 5:00pm with Masonic Services at 8:00pm at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, No-vember 2, 2016 at 10:30am in the funeral home chapel with Reverend James Ham-lett officiating. Burial will be at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Military Rites.

Richard Leon MayoFORDLAND, Mo. -

Richard Leon Mayo, 85, of Fordland, formally of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Saturday Oct. 29,

2016 at Strafford Care Center.

Mr. Mayo, the son of the late Richard H. and Thelma G. Kearbey Mayo, was born April 7, 1931 in Butler County, Mo. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Mr. Mayo had retired as an auto body repairman. He enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, fishing and woodworking.

On April 8, 1950, he married Frances Jewell Pennington in Paragould, Ark. She preceded him in death on April 26, 2000.

Survivors include three children, Sherry Hiatt and Andy Mayo of Fordland, Mo. and Steve Mayo of Santa Rosa, Calif; five grandchildren, Dulci Orr, Kelly McSwain, Stephanie Figueroa, Kayla Lilly and Kenneth Hiatt; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert F. Mayo of Glen-dale, Ariz.; two sisters, Lorene Crowley of El-lisnore, Mo. and Roberta Maize of Lesterville, Mo.

A brother, Billy (Sonny) Mayo and a grandson Mi-chael McCluskey also pre-ceded Mr. Mayo in death.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral chapel with the Rev. Jim Schremp officiating. Burial will follow at Cochran Cemetery in Butler County, Mo.
