TUMOUR ON A NERVE.

To the Editor, " Indian Medical w-azette."

Sir,?The following may be of interest: A Syrian, aged 32, came to me with a tumour size of an egg on inner side of right arm; it was painful, but otherwise like a cystic tumour. He stated it was of seven years' growth and attri- buted it to the bite of a rat, stating that once two rats

fighting fell from a house roof on him, and that by evening his body was covered with eruptions, which, however, soon disappeared. The tumour was easily removed, but I found the capsule to be the ulnar nerve expanded, and I turned out the tumour from the capsule leaving the latter. The tumour was solid but friable : an energetic servant disposed of it before it was put under the microscope unfortunately. The wound healed, but the man has loss of sensation in the little and half the ring finger. I hope sensation may return as the expanded fibres of the new capsule form a good communication. I have not here seen a similar tumour.
