through the village Dairy cooperative Societies.

The farmers of society villages bring their surplus milk to the society, where it is tested, quantified and the value of the milk

chilling plant where it is chilled to 5c and the same milk after chilling is transported to the nearest Dairy for processing, packing and marketing.

After marketing of milk and milk products, the realization is routed back the producers once in 10 days in the same manner.

Processing and MarketingThe first point is the rural milk producer, who

produces milk. Thus Omfed not only plays a vital role to link

both the points through its activities but also channelize cores of rupees from urban sector to rural sector in this system.

Generally milks are being marketed by Omfed, from its dairies by it's authorized retailers in different towns of the state.

o Credit policy: It strictly follows the cash basis of transactions. The retailer has

to make a advance payment before the milk is to be supplied. But in certain cases it provides credit. For e.g.. SCB medical college, ctc. ; capital hospital, BBSR etc.

o Damage goods policy: In case of the damaged goods , generally the retailer has to

check the milk packet while taking the delivery of them. If it is found that any packet is spoiled or damaged then the Delivery Van will provide 1 pkt. extra for each 50 liters.

o Transport system: OMFED does not have its own transport system. Each year it

calls a tender notification for the transport of products. each dairy gets a separate transport agency for distribution of it’s products.

CONCLUSION Not only the profit but we also came to know

about how they manage their works such that the consumers can get the best.

Consistently the demand of OMFED is increasing Though the production level has been increased, but they are not able to fulfill the demand of consumers.

Another fact that is deduced is being a local product OMFED has high market share in comparison to its rival brands.

As it is a local producer so it’s product are easily available in rural market too.
