Description

OMD Migration project was commissioned to migrate the current Operations Metric Databases (OMD) from Sybase IQ to SQL Server 2008 R2. The system needs to be migrated to SQL Server before Sybase IQ license expires in December 2011.

PM Comment

Progress has been slow due to issues with IQ2 server. The volumes of data involved for universes have taken longer than expected to load into the current SQL UAT environment. Progress has been made on SQL server tuning of slow running reports within the larger results such as Memphis. There is a issue with the production server release which was due on 18 November. No agreed date from infrastructure as waiting for hardware to arrive on site in the next couple of days. Due to NYK holidays and FICC change freeze there is a possibility that full release of production will not be until beginning Jan.

The following major bottlenecks have pushed back timelines:1. Availability of SyBase production server: We could not extract data without hampering current production. IQ2 production environment was delivered 31/10/20112. Agreed production server delivery dates have slipped due to sign off and procurement of space: Due to deliver 09/12/2012 earliest. May push into January. *Without production and necessary spacing we cannot switch of SyBase.
