FIDDLESTICKS ORCHESTRA!! – Rehearsals started for ALL!!

Thanks to those you turned up for last week’s rehearsal. The

names below expressed an interest in Fiddlesticks Orchestra but did not manage last week.

Rehearsals have now begun and are every Wednesday 4pm – 5pm in the Assembly Hall. Please speak to Mrs Farquhar for more information or if you are unable to attend and she can pass on a

RULES

• Entrants must live in East Lothian or Midlothian and/or be in P4-P7 in primary school or in S1-S4 in secondary school in the two local authority areas.

• Entries can be in either prose or poetry. Each entrant is entitled to submit one entry.

• The following information must be put on the back of each entry: Name Age Class Title of entry Name of school and class teacher

• Entries are free.

• Primary schools should hand in or post their entries to any library in East Lothian or Midlothian. Secondary schools should hand their entries into the school librarian.

• Entries must be original work. They should be hand written or printed on only one side of A4 paper. An electronic copy will be required if the work is a winning entry.

• Where more than one page is submitted, pages should be numbered and clipped together securely (not stapled).

• Prose must not be longer than 1000 words for primary school pupils and 1500 words for secondary school pupils. Poems for both primary school and secondary school pupils must be no longer than 40 lines.

• The title of the piece should be on each page and each prose entry should be marked with its number of words.

• The closing date for entries is Friday 15 June 2012.

Grahame Place

The school has received a number of complaints from residents of Grahame Place. Students should not use this as a short cut or be climbing over fences and

damaging residents’ gardens.

Any students identified causing damage run the risk of being reported to the police.

Awards Evening 2011

If you received a cup or a shield at the Awards Ceremony last September it is

now time to return it to school.

Please hand it to the school office as soon as possible. Thank you.
